  • Welcome to Part 1 of 7 Crossing Newfoundland By ATV 2019 videos! (link to 2020 video below)
    11 friends toured Western Newfoundland with ATV's and UTV's for 9 days. We traveled 1,000 km (600 miles) and experienced some of the most beautiful back country scenery anywhere in the world! This video series chronicles our trip, in order, with details you can use to plan your own trip.
    This video shows our first day on the trails from Port Aux Basques to Black Duck Siding.

    If you want to do this trip visit my website to see how you can plan your own trip!

    Everything you need to know to plan your trip is there. EVERYTHING.
    Thousands of people have done it, even beginners, so can you. I suggest planning the trip yourself and hiring a guide for a day trip when you're there. The crew at Pirate's Haven in Robinsons has taken us on a few different day-tours. They're awesome! Other than that we cross the island on our own.

    I have dozens of videos from Newfoundland on my RUclips Page. Check it out if you wan to see how beautiful it is.

    Also, my RUclips videos explain a lot when you watch them. At the beginning of each video I go over our itinerary for the day. If you are planning a trip using my website, be sure to watch the videos as well.

    Looking forward to the series. Nice camera work, editing. and narrating. Would carrying say a 10ft kayak on the roof of a SxS be a silly idea.

    • @EastCoastATV
      @EastCoastATV  4 года назад +1

      Thanks Kenneth, I appreciate that. Funny you should mention a kayak. Friends and I were talking about that not long ago. I think it's possible but it may be a bit tight in a few areas. I'd love to know if someone else has done it. I think I will put a post on my NL Facebook page and see if anyone has done it.

    Are you from up that way? It’s over 1000 miles away for me, I’m from Pennsylvania. Wasn’t sure if you were from the states or not.

    • @EastCoastATV
      @EastCoastATV  4 года назад +1

      I'm not from Newfoundland but I'm in Canada. 1000 miles is a bit of a drive but I think it's worth it to do the trip. I know people that came all the way from the west coast!

    What is the maximum width allowed? I’m guessing a 72 inch wide Can Am Maverick X3 might be too wide? What about a Polaris RZR XP pro at 64 inch?

    • @EastCoastATV
      @EastCoastATV  3 года назад

      I wouldn't do it with anything wider than a 64" machine. There are places where you could get a 72 inch wide machine through but you would definitely have a difficult time in many places.

      @@EastCoastATV What about a 66 inch wide?

    • @EastCoastATV
      @EastCoastATV  3 года назад

      @@carlgustav945 You would probably be fine with that but you will find a few tight spots with something that big, especially on some trails when you come across people going the other way.

      @@EastCoastATV Thank you. I may have asked you something similar a while back. Finally moving on from atv to side by side; Yamaha RMAX 1000, 66.1 inches wide. The Maritimes have zero 2021 models and not just Yamaha. One has to order. I got lucky, Atlantic Recreation in Mount Pearl NL has 1 coming in on a shipment not sold. Finally...
