I find it helpful to place markers to indicate the first and last three so I know I have to always knit them. Also using a marker on the magic loop helps to keep track of which side you are. I hope you don’t mind me saying about the markers but it’s much easier for us beginners or those that have difficulty remembering where they are 😊
Thank you for sharing and it was easy following you. I have finished mine, if there is anything I would say as I didn’t watch the whole video first is that I wish I knew about the button holes before finishing the 11 rows. My daughter loved it 💕
So grateful for this comment. Currently making this for my daughter at 38 weeks pregnant and don’t think my hormones would have handled the realisation after 😂🫶
thank you for this comment! first sweater I'm knitting @ 37 weeks pregnant and would've just done all the raglan increases before watching the part about buttonholes. Then probably had a break down that I messed it up lol.
G'day Courtney I've started knitting on the baby sweater you did eleven months ago and watching your videos thank you so much for sharing your talent, look forward for your fourth tutorial 👌
I’ve almost finished knitting this beautiful sweater for my baby!! ❤❤ I’m on magic loop for the sleeves at current, cannot wait to finish it- this will be my FIRST finished knitting project ever even though I’ve been knitting for years 😂 just never seem to finish them, but that’s about to change! 😌
Thank you for the pattern. I'm quite happy to be following your instructions to make this wee cardigan. I, too, would like buttonholes higher in the sweater and am adjusting to do so. I'm not fond of your m1l and mkr to increase the sleeves so have altered the pattern. At 2 sts before the marker K1fb, knit 1. slip marker, then K1fb at first stich after the marker. This places the twist evenly either side of the raglan increases. This, to me, is a much nicer delineation for the sleeve increases. ❤
Hi Dorothy, I'm glad you're enjoying the pattern!:) Also, using whatever increase technique that is most comfortable for you is a great way to go. They all have their pros and cons- the K1FB leaves both increases leaning the same direction, so you won't get that symmetrical look the the M1 increases give, but I do find the K1FB more comfortable on the hands. Knitters choice as I like to say:D
this is a superb tutorial for a new knitter as well as for knitters who have not knit for a while. . I just love love love it. It ia also so very adorable. Thank you so very much for sharing it with us .
I knitted 2 inches and haven't placed a button hole! Can I go back? I bought the pattern and am making size 3-6, how long does the piece need to be before splitting for sleeves?
Thank you so much😊 The Soussa Pullover which I have a tutorial for goes up to 2 years, as well as the Beja Sweater tutorial that will be released this week! Hoping to expand sizes as I gain more experience with grading patterns.
Hi Courtney. Thank you so much for the excellent video and explanations. I am at the sleeves point and so far, thanks to you, I have learnt a lot. Do you have a similar pattern for a woman size cardigan, please? Kind regards
It would be really great if you could please give us all the measurements in the end, I love your work and it's so easy to follow I learnt a lot from you Thank you so much
Thank you! There are three recommended yarns for the pattern: Sandnes Garn Alpakka, Garnstudio DROPS Merino Extra Fine, and Sandnes Garn PetiteKnit Double Sunday. The cardigan in the thumbnail is knit using Sandness Garn Double Sunday, and the version being knit in the tutorial is Sandnes Garn Alpakka. The needles are chiaogoo US 6 4mm needles:)
Hi Joanna, I would love to design knitted pants! I currently have two more sweaters in the works, so hopefully I can get pants in going sometime this year:)
The pattern is lovely and i want to try it for my newborn baby! Can it be done with wool 50 g per 140 mt (i only found that one suitable for babies)? In that case should i use thicker needles (like 4.5 or 5) or stick with needles 4? Sorry if the questions are dumb, this is my first cardigan ever.. You have so many nice tutorials, i want to try them all!
That’s a great idea, I’ll get that up soon!😊 In the meantime, if you search "continental style knitting" that is what I use. There is also English style knitting which many people enjoy!
I have a question about the guage . You say 21 stitches and 28 rows. Should that produce a square ? I would really appreciate any help as this looks a lovely pattern. Thank you ❤
Yes, that would produce a 4x4 inch square if you're on gauge:) However, to knit a gauge swatch you'll want it to be slightly larger in order to accurately measure. Try casting on 30 stitches and knit for 5 inches, then measure 4 inches by 4 inches inside of this swatch to see if you're on gauge!
Hey. I’m a little lost. When you start knitting across the wrong side, what’s the name for that style? Do we continue doing the long tail cast on? Or is that a different style? I’m so very new at this… so, I’m sorry for my ignorance
@@Mis_hormonaslocas Don’t worry this is a great question!! Once you’ve finished with your cast on, you’ll either be working “knit” stitches or “purl” stitches as directed in the video. If you need to pause and learn how to do these techniques, just RUclips “how to knit and purl” and there will be many resources for you. I hope this helps, please let me know if you meant something else:)
Sorry if I phrased my question poorly, it was 2 am😂. So, “purling” is the stitch you you when you start knitting across the wrong side ? Thanks for your answer btw🩵🙏🏼😊 Also: when you start that part, you continue the tail, or the working yarn?
I am knitting this cardigan and after watching ten times how to do the sleeves I am still confused. She says it fast and hand movement is so quick so I don’t know which is which, I am stock on sleeves now. Please help
Hi Mrite! You will notice once you start knitting, once side will show the knit stitches, and one side will show the purl stitches. For this project, the side with the knit stitches is the 'right side' and the side with the purl stitches is the 'wrong side.' :) This will make more sense once you get started!
You said you can tell which side your working on simply looking and seeing one side has knit stitches ,the other side has purl stitches ,as if I know what each looks like arghhhhh
Purl stitches have a horizontal bar on the bottoms of it. Knit stitch has a v shape. Purl stitch is basically the "wrong side" of a knit stitch. I think there are close-up photos on google to learn to recognise them easier. However, you only have to knit a little bit to learn it visually.

Same. What did you do, just add strings to tie at the top after? I don’t know how to go back in knitting.
@@bethanyfunk2349 right ok I was able to work with it as I can knit but I was thinking more for those that are new to knitting xx

Lovely, easy-to-follow video! As a continental knitter, I usually combination knit. I was curious to see how you purl. Now I want to try your method.
Thank you so much! I haven't come across anyone who purls like I do... I think it is a very random technique but works well for me:)

How much yarn did you use for this cardigan? Meters in total?
Do u knit anything in cable I can follow
I wanted to ask a question
What if my length becomes a Lil more than 4 inches in just completing raglan stitches, it won't be a problem right??
Won't be a problem! You'll just have a bit more room in the sweater:)
Base on what size.
What is the length of the cardigan size 3 to 6?
Can somene please confirm the final length of the cardigan?
