I get the gimmick, as I did when I was a kid in the 80s, but this amazing, unique guitarist, always, a guy on snare and another on standup bass. I'm thinking a whole lot of people other than me heard Brian Setzer then and now as a pretty goddamn amazing guitarist and performer. I get it that the US market is hard, but it wasn't nor is any easier for SRV, or Hendrix, or EVH. Man, you can kick ass right now. What's his name, the ginger guy from England, he's a great band leader but he's not an amazing musician like you are. I'm originally a sax player, born again musician on guitar, Berklee alumni and all. I've heard you play straight Jazz sax lines in every context and it just blew me away. You're not in your teens or twenties anymore, but a total music god like you, that doesn't matter. I'm watching and listening, and it's crazy you're not one of the most copied living guitarists today aside Steve Vai and H.E.R.. I wish I could do what you do, on any instrument at all, because I would be a goddamn legend.
Fantastic video!! Could you tell me what year Brian Setzer started using the Roland Space Echo 301? In this concert it seems like he doesn't use it, right?
I was there at this concert. It was awesome. I went to the '82 and '83 US Festivals. I drove my parents van full of rockers from Nor. Cal. I just made a video of Rock This Town on the 4th. I sing and play bass guitar. I rocked it hard. Check it out. It's my featured video right now. I even have on my Stray Cat t-shirt and I show my Stray Cat tattoo at the end. I think you'll like me.
Gentle public... Remember a fighting one, during a concert in Paris in the 80's (end) : pogo was on.. I loved the concert except we had to run away because of fighting gangs...
Yes the legendary Stray cats the kings of rockabilky no competition the whole package. Go go cats still love u in 2023 and beyond ❤
Doesn't take a ton of equipment and instrument's when you have A TON OF TALENT ❗️
amen
So true!
grew up with these guys as a kid on long island. epic 80s
Exactly. And u know. He is. Brian Setzer and all! One of the greats
👍
Must be one of most talented bands ever, totally underrated cause of the genre
They came up like 20 years too late.
Not by people who like that genre. First saw him in La Bamba doing Summertime blues I like that genre too.
Micheal Jackson
They were huge in the 80s. I had all their records.
They were never underrated
Brian Setzer one of the best guitarists ever. Dude can flat out play!!
I'm a Berklee alumni. If there were an audience full of Berklee guitarists, they would wet their pants at this performance.
@@JohnOhkumaThiel Umm I don't know about that. They're good but it's pentatonic blues rock. If John Williams (the guitarist) played then yea.
@@JohnOhkumaThielWhat you talking about??
I agree Brian Setzer really knows how to play his guitar a true talented genuine fantastic legendary man. Ohh and handsome still in 2023. ❤
@@newyorksbeerreviews1280 dude is playing jazz licks my guy...just a bad take :/

Smallest Drum Kit Ever! These guys rock!
He gets great sound out of it though, ay?
greatest ever underrated band of all time
All you need is a gretsch 6120, one upright bass, one snare drum, one bass drum and one crash cymbal
Yeah... that, and a shitload of talent!!!
And talent, looks and great song writing skills. Yup that's all we need ☺️
Brian turned 65 yesterday!
I went to both of the 82 and 83 shows all six days and it is something that I will never forget.

It's really pretty weird that they hit the top of the 80's charts with this style of music. But I love it that they did! Awesome

My dad saw them at the Ohio State fair many years ago
Brian Setzer is a monster Guitar Player. He looks a lot like Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day in this video.
Brian Kendall true
Brian Kendall or you mean Billy Joe Armstrong looks a lot like Brian...
True, but kinda also looks like Angel from X-Men: Apocalypse. The hair is spot on. Lol

Anyone ever seen Edward Norton and Brian Setzer together?
