A few things to mention about your review of this car.
If you walk up to the car, you can just press the stud on the handle to get in, as long as the key is in your pocket.
Also, I am get 580 km of range at the moment. The expected figure is calculated on the last 10 journeys the car has made. This is always going to come out low in a test/courtesy car.
The rear shelf can be stored under the boot floor when not needed.

Would love to do a long term test with this to see those claimed figures. As for the door handles, it's just a little clunky still compared to either conventional handles or automated ones.

A solid review, however it is interesting to see the significant spec difference in the Air released in Australia vs. New Zealand. Based on this review , I normally went GT Line. If it weren't for having been afforded probably the best customer service I think I have ever received from any brand, and having use of the the Air for a few days to try out, in my books it is the clear winner. Not only is it significantly cheaper than GT Line (NZ$79,990 for LR Air vs NZ $114,000 for GT Line), ands therefore recipient of the full $8,625 government clean car discount, whist it doesn't have the chintzy interior, bumpy 20 inch wheels, and admittedly some nice aspects like Meridian Sound, and visual blind spot monitor, the items like auto pop out door handles, electric tailgate and full suite of safety tech is included as standard. I cannot think of anything else that the NZ spec Air needs that isn't already loaded in the vehicle. For any NZ prospective purchasers, make sure you do not dismiss the Air out of hand based on overseas reviews. There clearly are some significant spec differences. It appears on this side of the Tasman, it is the GT line that struggles to justify a $34,010 variance in price, make that $42,635 if you add back the clean car discount.

no pano roof, no gloss black trim, cloth seats, an actual usefull tyre profile.... i like it. rear seating position is not great.... i would probably go for polestar 2.

Unfortunately, I think there's just one too many options missing from this base EV6. So something like a Polestar 2 becomes a great alternative.

Thanks for the video, I love the car and I am thinking about purchasing. Have you tested the consumption in the highway at 70-75 mph (125-130 Km/h)? I heard that it is not that efficient at that speed.

Haven't tested this specific model. But I did find the range on the IONIQ 5 to be a little 'thirsty' at highway speeds. Found the range to be a bit less than what was promised via the display.

The consumption on your wallet would be high too with all the speeding tickets you'll get at that speed ! 🤣

The 528 km range is calculated at an average of 40 mph

Such a shame there is alot false infirmation at this level of a channel.
Car fors have keyless access. You just press the back end of the handle and hear a slight click. Locking and unlocking.
Boot has a false floor design that you can drop some 3-4inches. Makes the boot go from 490litres to 562 litres.
In terms of traveling battery preconditioning makes the var beat many bigger battery rivals in total travel time in cold climates (by far alot) because you can rely on the charging speed even is hardcore subzero climates like -30 centigrade and still charge like in the summer. Skoda, VW, Audi for example are super bad in the cold.
If tou nit pick about missing blindspot monitoring. Most of the rivals you gotta spend extra to even adaptive cruise or front sensors. Rear view camera is not standard even in a Q4 etron which is just hidious that customers accept that.
Im pretty sure this reporter does not daily live with eletctic cars since on long distances quick charging is a massive win over a slightly bigger range in the battery.
58kwh version consumption wins rivals hands down. Getting a range in real life above wltp rated is crazy easy.
Tesla has no competition in terms of suspension, sound insulation and the fact that you cant use lane keeping assist/auto steer without cruise is super weird. If tou use cruise also wipers are forced on. Sunny day and the wipers bug put and start going back and forth in dry weather like mad. No rain nothing.

So this base model is the most engaging, most fun to drive EV, but for some missing features which are not even missing, like the doorhandles, you dismiss it whaha. Apart from not knowing what you are talking about, it seems you don not like driving a car.

The GT-Line is certainly nice. But the base model is just missing a few too many features for the asking price.

Considering this car is based on the Ioniq 5, I don’t know how they can justify the price premium for less features.
