    I knit my socks this way, for sure!
    Someone asked about markers- I definitely use markers to mark beginning of each round, each sock. My trick is to use a BLUE marker for the BEGINNING of sock (or sleeve) number 1.... and a different color for the other. Helps me to keep track when I set knitting down, where I am.

I have been working on a pair of socks though, slowly 🐌... and I keep putting them down, I've been procrastinating 🧚🏼‍♀️living in a fairytale thinking umm they'll get done 🤔...but i want to finish my "Patchwork Cartigan" first and I started it from the bottom up, it's on the fly, different yarns, and different stitches, not too complex but i just want to finish it before winter in Michigan 😫, ya know 🙏🏼. I'll need those prayers for the separation at the sleeves to work on the rest of the body ugh but I am determined to getterdone 😉. You know me, I've been persistent with my learning to as it was.. Love 💘 sweetie 😘💕💖🙏🏼!! Be Safe and Stay Healthy!! 😷🆙️

    This technique would work amazingly well when you have a pattern with a lot of cables and specific stitch patterns and the pattern simply just says decrease evenly in pattern. That is glaringly over simplified! I apologize for not explaining myself well. I had an Aran sweater that just said decrease the shoulders and sleeves in a matching manor ending with a certain amount of stitches for each. Then seam together matching the patterns.It was a nightmare even for an advanced knitter. This will help create exact matching sleeves. If you took this technique one step further with an extremely long cord cord you could decrease the front then the 1st sleeve, next the back then finally 2nd sleeve all as separate pieces. I would only do all 4 separate pieces at once on a pattern like that nightmare pattern. Thank you so much.💖💖💖💖

      Hi Val, this technique works exactly the same when picking up stitches when doing a raglan style sweater not just for sewn in sleeves. We just opted to show it this way.

    How do you avoid the ladders?

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  Год назад

      Hi Jamie, do I assume correctly that you're referring to laddering while knitting the sleeves using dpns and/or magic loop? If you use one of these techniques it's important that you vary the location of pulling the cord (-> magic loop) or the locations of where the dpns end (meaning knitting at least 1 -2 sts past the last stitch on every needle every round).
      I hope this makes sense. If not please don't hesitate to reach out to us via the contact form at www.expressionfiberarts.com/contact-us/
      We're happy to explain further.
      Have a lovely day! 💕

    I want to try this pattern but the only thing is that I have a bunch of worsted weight yarn that I would like to use for it. I’ve always followed what patterns recommend as far as yarn weight goes. Is there a way that I could use worsted weight yarn for this pattern? I’ve heard you talk about gauge before but what happens to the swatch after you make it?

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  3 года назад

      Because of the type of garment you would be making. You would have to do some math (.basically rewrite the pattern) if you were to use worsted weight yarn. I hope this helps. ❤️

    • @namiwolflover14
      @namiwolflover14 3 года назад

      ExpressionFiberArts how would I go about doing that?

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  3 года назад

      @@namiwolflover14 you would need to use the worsted weight yarn to get your gauge. Then use that math to determine the number of stitches that would correlate a certain size of the pattern. Then make sure you have the correct number of stitches that are allowable per row in order to create the piece... etc. It is a pretty long process that I wouldn't recommend. ❤️
