In Royal Rangers we were taught the value of a first aid kit, I always carry one in my vehicle for when there is trouble and I may need to help someone. The first time I had to really use it, I was the one that needed it. My jeep was in a serious accident, my 20 year old airbags didn't deploy, and my seatbelt didn't work. I relaxed before the impact - I knew to do that. Last thing I remember thinking - just relax, there is nothing else left to do, don't tense up that makes it worse (broken elbows, shoulders, etc) just let the seatbelt catch you. Next thing I know I rag dolled off the steering wheel, and cut my forehead open. I turned the car off, checked myself over, I knew I was in shock because I was very aware, and felt no pain. I got out of the car grabbing first aid kit and got to safety. I opened my kit and had no idea what I was looking at. I didn't know a bandaid from a pair of scissors. Fortunately some person stopped and helped me find some gauze. I never thought I needed it for myself. A few moments later the police arrived. The police officer was amazed that I had a First Aid kit, she exclaimed: "No one ever has a First-Aid kit!" - moral of the story - don't neglect your seatbelts, don't trust 20 year old xj airbags, and always carry a First-Aid kit!

Kind of what we have now for pets. Fast stops, etc and the gear in back becomes dangerous for the back of your head.

One nice thing about AMC being so small is that they used everyone else's parts. That's a GM alternator and is cheap and easy to upgrade. Old cars were barely adequate to run the lights and the heater at the same time.

    Hey Brad,
The Cherokee is coming along nicely. The exhaust sounds good and looks really clean.
On the subject of your search for vintage period correct Coleman camping gear, I have a friend who goes to every estate sale he can find and has come up with stoves, single and double mantel lanterns, coolers, water jugs, and the old Coleman catalyst heaters. Every bit of it has been brand new, purchased and never used and all still in the original boxes and from the 40’s,50’s,60’s, and 70’s.
He has come up with this gear really inexpensively. Like he found a red 1 mantle lantern for 5 bucks with the case, model 413 and 425 stoves for 10 to 20 bucks. I have an old 3 burner stove and one of the fold up ovens you use on the stove and they go on every trip I take.
The key like I said is estate sales.
Always enjoy your videos and adventures.
Let the Mrs. know I’m still standing by for her to break out the cast iron Dutch oven on a trip to cook the meal in.
Be safe, and keep up the videos.

Doing carpet after I get a cage in it. Then the soft top can finally go on. Not sure the cage, carpet and soft top will happen before Moab in October.
Your interior green is very similar to mine. My exterior green is darker. It needs a repaint after 44 years. Eight years in Oceanside air gave it a bunch of patina. Normally I don’t mind that but this truck was gorgeous the first 10 years I had it. It deserves the new paint.

Hello! Coleman make beautiful, brand-new coolers, stoves, and lanterns, from the 1900 Collection to other vintage lines like the cooler in this video, it looks identical, is cheaper, works well, and 'It's Green!".
The stove and kitchen are amazing!!!

Thanks! It's been work to get here, but I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out.

I understand just wanting to get it on the road, but just taking the time to really address the rust is always the best option. Painting over rust never works and covering it with sound-damping material is just going to make a bad time for the next guy who wants to do it right. You should have removed the roof cross members and chemically removed or walnut shell blasted the rust. Yes, it would have taken some more time, but it would have been a completely correct job that would never have to be revisited again.
