The wife and I want these windows, but how does it work with window treatments/shades? I understand the walls in many homes with Europe are much thicker/deeper than our American homes so their windows can sit deeper.
We will use a standard curtain rod and vertical curtains that pull across. You can still tilt in with a 2x6 wall with curtains closed no problem, they don’t tilt super far. You would need the curtains open to swing the windows in obviously, but that’s no issue for us
I've never seen those before!!! I love them! I'm constantly looking at stuff for designing my dream home and hate the options for windows. The sliding to* the side on a track windows are a pain to clean and get stuck so easily. The windows that open by sliding upwards are dangerous, especially for kids... These seem safe, efficient, and easier to maintain. I wonder if they would work with normal window alarms or if you'd have to get a door alarm for them. 🤔
In Europe they are not expesive...it starts at 200€ for PVC ...300€ Aluminium and more expensive for hard wood !!! In 2005 I paid 1.100€ for 11 PVC Windows ( different sizes) but it was a very good promotion...( 40% real discount, not a fake one )...18 years later, work like brand new. They last a lifetime...probably they will outlast american houses !!!
Yup. Had them in our house in Germany in the 1980s. Super convenient and easy to open. Also easy to wash the outside compared to most US windows.
Everyone has these in germany
For those cold Pennsyltucky winters

@@MasonDixonAcres Thank you for your insight. We'll measure and consult with our window guy as well. We're looking to possibly use Oknoplast.
