Also, ONJ is now living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and treating it with plant-based medicines. She spends most of her time now raising funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Center located in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. She resides in California, USA. Such a great human being!🧡

Great reaction! Love it! Finally an ONJ song! This is from the movie "Xanadu". The songwriter, John Farrar, is a brilliant songwriter and record producer in his own right. He produced all of ONJ's records through the mid 80's and wrote many of her hits. He wrote all of the ONJ songs in the movie "Xanadu", except the title track which was written by ELO. John Farrar also wrote Hopelessly Devoted to You and You're the One that I Want for the movie "Grease".😀

Sir Cliff Richard OBE (born Harry Rodger Webb; 14 October 1940) is an English singer who holds both British and Barbadian citizenship.[1] He has sold more than 250 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time.[2] He has total sales of over 21.5 million singles in the United Kingdom and is the third-top-selling artist in UK Singles Chart history, behind the Beatles and Elvis Presley.

Thank you barrie hull, but I have to say that figure of 250 million records worldwide was first written in August 1990! Sir Cliff has actually sold over 300 million records worldwide now, (fact from the CRO - Cliff Richard Organisation) and probably more because of many, many re-sales from: Record fairs, Second hand stores, Collectors websites, Charity shops, Antique shops, Boot fairs etc etc! Just thought i'd point that out, but Thanks for all Your information.😀

Cliff was never gay, but he did have a few relationships with women before he became a Christian in 1964. He did fall in love with ONJ, and his mother wanted him to marry her after her relationship with Bruce Walsh broke up. But Cliff told his mum that he and ONJ had different religious views and it would not work. ONJ said that she and Cliff had "heated religious discussions". But they remained very close friends over the decades. Cliff was married to his career and never had time for marriage.

Sir Cliff Richard and Dame Olivia Newton-John. Fabulous! They have been great friends since the late 60's when ONJ and Pat Carroll (now Farrar - married John Farrar) were backing vocalists. ONJ was in a relationship with Shadows guitarist Bruce Welch and they got engaged. When ONJ started her solo recording career, Cliff had her on his TV show in the early 70's. Bruce Welch and John Farrar produced her first record. After she and Bruce split, John Farrar took on the solo role of record producer and song-writer for ONJ.

Loved this since I was a kid. Turned up somehow on compilations my mum had and it’s just lovely. I can see how you thought it was a Bee Gees song as it’s so well written. Olivia always seemed to shine in duets and her and Cliff combine perfectly on the choruses. The bridge is fantastic too. It’s such a great song by John Farrar, a long time writer for Olivia who also did songs on the Grease soundtrack including the gorgeous Hopelessly Devoted To You

Harri, John Farrar wrote this masterpiece! And he didn't need to be influenced by the Bee Gees. John was one of the great hit songwriters. He actually wrote many of Olivia's songs, Including one of my favs, "Sam". Also wrote, the ever popular "You're the one that I want" from Grease with Olivia and John Travolta dancing in the leather outfits. He wrote one of her early hits, "Have you never been Mellow". Also "Magic", and her hugely popular hit ballad from grease, "Hopelessly Devoted to You".

John Farrar (like the Bee Gees, an Australian) wrote many of the famous songs from the Grease soundtrack ("You're the one that I want", et al), and some on Xanadu ("Magic", "Suddenly"). This song has always haunted me since it came out... finally found out how that opening and closing synth pad was made (a particular Roland vocoder synth called a VP330)

I enjoyed this movie in the theaters. I saw it six times on it's first run release. ONJ, Cliff Richard, The Tubes, Gene Kelly, and ELO ... what's not to love? The story was somewhat interesting, the cinematography was not spectacular, and the animation was sub-par. The music was exceptional and more than worth the price of admission. My only musical complaint was that not all the tracks made the album. I finally located a release of ELO's "Drum Dreams" in the mid 1990's.
