I haven't heard this song in 40 years.....listening to it now as a musician, and like a lot of stuff I heard as a kid, didn't appreciate how incredible the songwriting and musicianship was, even on pop tunes I considered "cheesy." (This isn't, BTW) The 70s was and is my favorite era for pop music.

I skipped school and snuck into a movie theater to watch this movie (Xanadu) the usher let me stay all day Watching it like 5 times so I would be safe until school was out. Asked for the album the moment it was released. . Great beautiful memory attached to this stellar performance.

Die Hard Fan here. My fondest memory of Xanadu is that time I went to watch it (for the third or fourth time) and right after Kira (Olivia) sang Suspended in Time, someone started clapping and everyone in the theater followed. Greetings from Peru.

Why do I keep watching this stuff on uTube about 2am in the morning? Because it's great stuff yet again from HSCC. Nice cover and the two vocalists have chemistry (I saw them both before and there is certainly a spark there). Darren's vocals are always on the case, whatever style he sings in. Good playing by the band as usual and a more resonant sound to the recording. Well done people from a UK drummer.
They are indeed wonderfully addictive aren't they. One eleven AM in Seattle,, we can sleep when we're dead. Meanwhile we're going to listen to HSCC til our eyes fail and our minds shut down. I am absolutely mesmerized by their amazing talent.
This. The other night I stayed up late to book a precious Tesco slot when I should have been sleeping early to recover from the virus. I was too preoccupied enjoying HSCC videos that I missed out on all the slots. But the performances were so good that I didn't care 😄

@@rickley2502. Me too and not just a result of a lockdown here in the UK. The HSCC (I have to resist writing HSBC) stuff on uTube is really great and these two singers really get on (see the live version on stage as well). They both have wedding rings (?) and I wonder if they are actually married together (they should be but no offence to others if not).
Not good watching this in a way as I haven't seen my Girlfriend in nearly 6 weeks as a result of all this virus stuff and it's driving me nuts.

Great duet. You both and the band do justice to Sir Cliff Richard and Olivia Newton John.

A tough ballad to nail, but you two come very close to matching the peerless harmonies achieved by Cliff and Olivia for the Xanadu soundtrack! Special kudos to the lady singer, who cleverly rekindles Sweet Livvie's timeless "breathless" vocals and playful even flirty spirit.
