I always go to they Game X Change and Goodwill in Cookeville TN but I’m new to collecting. The last time I went to goodwill I found a $25 Wii and Twilight princess for $6. The Wii had Smash Bros Brawl in it.
If you're ever in Central Jersey, you need to check out Retro Classics in Somerville, and right up the block from them is a place called Yestercades, which is one of those retro arcade places where you pay by the hour
It's sad that there aren't really any game stores in Nashville. There are a couple record stores that have games but they don't price things right. And no the other Game Trader isn't in Nashville, it's in Hendersonville.
Also as far as I know there are only two youtubers in the Nashville area; Cinema Sins and Hickok45. So they don't seed our Goodwills with games or electronics stuff. It all goes to the online store and gets bid unreasonably high.
I used to work at a store called Media Rerun in Murfreesboro and we did games, music, instruments etc, and it was always cool how all the stores would send customers to each other; it always felt like a community and never that we were against each other. It was always just awesome helping everyone get what they wanted. Love everyone at both of those stores, nothing but kind words!
I miss you guys over there at Media Rerun! Great store, loved that it had all sorts of stuff, from guitar tuners to Switch games and Pokemon Card prereleases! Was COVID a factor in closing?
I live in Murfreesboro and have had the pleasure of shopping at Play n Trade for years now. They have a killer selection and excellent staff. Glad to see you enjoyed it!
I used to love shopping at Game Trader when I lived in the area. Always a great selection and the employees are super nice. I really miss all the fun things in their gachapon machine
I was actually in both of those stores a couple weeks before Music City Multicon!! Picked up a near-mint Wild Arms 2 (PS1) from Play N Trade and grabbed a new copy of Trails from Zero on the Switch over at Game Trader. Both great stores! Hope you come back to Tennessee next year too!
Also, in Madison TN which is the opposite direction out of Nashville has the OG Game Trader which is about twice the size. Also McKay's books in Nashville is a great place to stop!
We're at a point when we should be grateful to have shops we can go take a look. Great to see ATARI stuff and Famicom stuff is very cool. Thanks for the show. 🐅
You picked up Silent Service for a second there at the cheap games bin. That's been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. Great strategy and action for the era.
I few years ago I found a copy of ff6 cib at the pawn shop. I didnt get it because they wrote directly on the cardboard box and put a sticker that looked like it wouldn't come off either.
never played mystic quest, but currently reading some marvel 90's comics and there are quite the number of mystic quest advertisements (along with a ton of other NES games) in the comics.
Sharpie will usually come right off with isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip . I'd rather they write on the case like that than stick stickers on the artwork like Gamestop .
I just came across another RUclips video that had a store in Vegas that was an all cereal store/ restaurant called cereal killers .. he only just made a quick trip and didn't highlight and figured you'd have a video from there possibly ?
Game Trader is an excellent store, shop there all the time. I will also give you some slack for butchering the pronunciation of the town of Smyrna in the last video :P
game trader sucks, last time i went into one they had ripped label mario duck hunt carts for $29.99, their stuff is priced about ebay prices or higher, playntrade and gamexchange are way better
@@Ares78 playntrade and gamexchange to me have similar prices but I do like playntrades sales from time to time, I have almost 300 nes games and I would say about 95% came from gamexchange
Game Trader prices are on the highest of high end, but their selection is great. The selection is probably great because the prices are too high for most, unless you really MUST have that game or system.
I would have to go there some day when I have money to burn that takes awhile to save up I know the guys like radical Reggie and especially metal Jesus has money like that to burn on a bunch of games but they probably don’t have kids either and that gets rough being a gamer and have kids
What are some other video game stores worth checking out?

Friends of mine played a punk rock show there a few years ago. They spoke highly of the place.
Dude, I loved that store. I discovered some of my favorite records there.
your channel always cheers me up when im down

We used to have a play n trade in my neck of the woods. It closed down a few years ago. I always liked them.

So crazy to see a RUclipsr you've liked for years go to your hometown game stores. Awesome video!

I really miss Play N' Trade!!! There was one in Glassboro, NJ. That is where my copy of Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles came from!
I go here all the time it’s a cool spot for games
I watch every upload and haven't been disappointed yet! Keep up the good work, Lord John of the Riggsian Empire!
That Gorbachev game...is Gorby no Pipeline Daisakusen.

Another hunting for Classic games John. I love it❤❤❤❤
picking up a game based off of who is at a convention near you to get it signed is such a good idea
JOHN RIGGS THAT IS VERY GOOD AND AWESOME TOO MY FRIEND
I want to write "STOP IT" in Sharpie on the pawn store owner's forehead.

Should have signed his autograph on the Goodwill store owners forehead with a Sharpie!
So many games I want.
That shelf full of Atari games! 😮
I've got the JVC xeye but mine is called the JVC wondermega 🙏🏽
Let's just say it's a good thing you went to the Murfreesboro Game Trader instead of the Hendersonville one.
never played mystic quest, but currently reading some marvel 90's comics and there are quite the number of mystic quest advertisements (along with a ton of other NES games) in the comics.
Thank you for showing the Atari games for us old school guys.

Wow, I haven’t seen a Play N Trade store in a quite a few years. They use to be in the suburbs of the Chicagoland area but I believe they all vanished
I'm happy to see more Japanese games, especially the N64 Japanese games. :D

I could have used that Taiko Drum Controller! I highly doubt I will find that in a Gamestop.
I've been trying to find a boxed Friday the 13th for Nes. But the few on eBay are pricey.
The thing is at this point most people into retro gaming were born after the Atari 2600 was basically dead. So Atari games just sit and sit.
RIGGGGGGSSSS‼️
Lets!

I didn't see it in the video, but did you happen to visit either of the Game Galaxy locations?
you should review the retroid pocket 2 + great handheld i liked it so much I have 2 of them
You can buy a decent label maker for like 10 bucks pawn shops.
Play and trade stores were always BAD value for trade-ins in North Carolina 🤦♂️
Sometimes you can get a decent price on a used game
The places gotta make money somehow - you're almost guaranteed a better return selling it yourself, but that can become a chore!
I need more money lol
Did you pick anything up at these stores?
come to Knoxville

I don't know why but your microphone has a very unplesant noize when you stop talking. Please fix this. Thanks.
I'm sorry, but that game store was
OVER PRICED on darn near EVERYTHING I saw. So sad
