Problem with goodwill, savers, etc is that they prices are managed by the store manager. So each one can be different. Might find Mario Kart Wii for 4.99 at one store and 14.99 at a different store.
True
Am I the only one who questions who’s buying this stuff on Amazon? Like this stuff is so random
I mean the people on Amazon are just willing to pay more. There’s always great retail deals if you’re willing to look.
Yea same, cuz if it's old random games I go to ebay, much cheaper, everything else I go to Amazon, even newer games
@@Luciano35502 no I’m talking abt the old 2000 Wi-Fi adapters for stuff etc
@@Luciano35502 you pay for convenience and many are in regions where availability is different
Just a reminder that they get this stuff for free. Anyone who collects games doesn't even bother with the Grid. They are also arrogant and throw out the same excuse over and over again when you point out that they are asking retail prices on donated goods. Eff The Grid.
True that
Preach!!!
So they get it for free and they should turn around and sell it to you for a dollar?
Give me a break. You're exactly the type of person who cries about how goodwill is overpriced lmao
@@lookitskazzygoodwill suks bro, they shouldn't be charging what they charging.
Top chief why are you here?😅
When I worked at a goodwill they didn’t specialize in games but they had a Dreamcast for sale I bought it 13 bucks thinking it was probably dead but it still worked
Sing it with my y’all
“MArgooooots wooooorbraaaaain” 🎶
The thrift stores around me have been pricing stuff pretty accurately lately, and it has been driving me mad. However, you can catch them slipping. I found a jet black GameCube in the box….with a wave bird controller jammed in the box with the receiver for $80.
Probably because they are watching videos like this.
@@John3.36exactly its guys like this NEW guy that make it too public for everybody.
It was a lucrative hustle until guys like this guy never stopped running their mouths and telling the whole world about reselling games, ruining it and creating lots of annoying new bill gates flu puppet competition resellers like us OGs whove been doing it for over 15 years.
found and xbox one for 200 dollars
You can thank people like him for goodwill having to open this store and price things so highly
To be fair, it was bound to happen. The free market hand will find it's way since when prices are too low it incentivizes this kind of treasure hunting/flipping. Thus equilibrium will come down the road.
@@_APG_ that’s true but still it’s messed up that you can’t have anything anymore without getting extremely lucky or paying a higher price I collect all sorts of video games and video game related things and I have trouble finding certain sonic and Mario figures or even the doom figures which are now around 40-120$
@@Kamek64 Just inevitable unfortunately. I am ancient enough to remember when no one cared, and tons of games were indeed dirt cheap; however, no one cared and they had no actual value. So it's a bit of a double-edged sword. Looking back I am actually glad everyone nowadays cares, and there's a huge community around video games. It was lonely before, and people thought game collector's were oddball nerds, haha!
Lmfao, Riff dancing to Margot’s had me dying 😂
Rent goes up and prices need to go up, Goodwill is like any other business lols. They do take advantage of their workers like every other business though. :( This store isn't so bad. It has reasonable prices for B-rated games.
Love these Sunday videos for the entertainment.
Ikr
Thanks Riff, now I have that Margot's Word Brain theme in my head... :(
My Goodwill definitely has terrible prices, and not just on games (not that they have very many). I can go to Old Navy and get brand new jeans for only a few dollars more than the used jeans at Goodwill. My local thrift store has better clothing prices but the games they do have have been sat in the case for like 6 months+ and are overpriced like $6-10 for loose shovelware ds games with a kid's name sharpied onto it. And my local pawn shop has decent retro inventory for a small shop but that is of course because nobody wants to pay his prices.
goodwills are trying to keep up with the reseller markets....that and people work in the stores to "confiscate" the good stuff
Not surprised about your second point. But yeah even my local church thrift store straight up told me they raised prices because of resellers buying all the stock@@BanditsBest686
Fun fact the original wireless adapter for the OG Xbox works with the Xbox 360
Small fact and let me dispel the pricing myth. I bought Mario Galaxy's 1 & 2 used for just $3 each at a Goodwill store. Both of the game discs were in great condition with a few scratches. They weren't placed in a glass case and were on the shelves floor. Plus they were in their original game cases. I was pretty shocked that I got it for that price and still am to this day!
That's just being at the right place at the right time
Goodwill was my go to game store. Then in 2022 they jacked up game prices from $2 to $6, but kept all other media the same price.
My goodwill in my area is pretty good 😊 I have a playlist of stuff I found
This dude is at my charlotte goodwill! would have been so cool to see you
Can be worse, ever looked at there auction site. You might get a good deal till you realize that the shipping and handling goes well over 10 bucks for anything.
I use to work for a goodwill in michigan and let me just say I can’t blame the resellers for being mad tbh, I left the company a few years ago and they always stressed anything video game related had to go to the online store despite if even the employee would offer to pay retail price if it was behind closed doors (yes they sometimes would let us get away with it)
Besides that though love the video phoenix 😊😊😊
12:53 man I had that exact Wii stand when I was younger, gave it away at a garage sale a few years ago so this just brought back some good memories 🥲
Can you remember what it was called? I really want one now I’ve seen it lol
I don't think I've ever seen a video game at Goodwill at my area. Goodwill is just rackful issues and t-shirts and a bend full of stuff people don't want
They probably send them to Goodwill website
Now have Margot’s word brain now stuck in my head!! Thanks Riff!
Xyab 🤨🤔 I'll look into it later...
10:50 as for this Grid place wish there was 1 in my area of Pennsylvania as I'm currently looking for a few Xbox 360/Xbox One Games😅
Taking them all is pretty brutal
That’s a reseller for ya. Sucks for those who want those for actual use sadly.
where do you usually draw the line in when you shouldnt sell an item as new with a small rip in the seal?
This is not confirmed at all.
But my main thought was that some of the “Sealed” games he is buying to sell as “New” look like they may be “re-sealed used,” and they are priced as used. Some of that wrap looks like shrink-wrap.
Not confirmed, but I used to “shrink-wrap” used items at Best Buy 20 years ago.
GW price items by what district they're in, atleast thats how it is local to me. One side of town games are $7.99+ other side is $1.99 any and all disc media sealed or not.
Needless to say i only go to the cheap side haha
riff's music selection when editing is top tier on youtube.
07:38 you slipped there, the first one was 19.99 the second one is 5.99 but you thought it was also 19.99.
No you slipped up. He was looking at the sealed copys price the cheaper was not sealed.
Great video as always, keep up the good work. I’m looking forward to the next one
THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME SOMETHING TO WATCH ON SUNDAY ❤
Brother we have the NFL for that
@@MikeCheckVR IF I WANNA WATCH FAKE TV ID JUST WATCH WWE
@@Kazpper88 How is completing a pass fake lol
Please tell me you use a rewards credit card when doing these, up to 5% back at department stores or something would be killer as long as you know what Goodwill's merchant code classifies as. Your talking about profit after fees like your buying them for the list price, if you buy them for your business, write off the tax you pay as a business expense and use a 5% rewards card, the profits you show literally jump.
0:29 was that Guitar Hero guitar actually signed by Korn on the faceplate? I recognize the faceplate and I'm pretty sure it doesn't come signed.
I thought so too but it looks like it’s just part of the design
It's a variation of the guitar that has the autographs like a decal. So it's real signatures, but not like a one-of-a-kind thing.
1000% signed by the band. I was trolling the comments to see if anyone noticed. 11:46 is where you can see it.
We have a video game computer store in Tallahassee all games go there.
I can't tell from this video how much it is but you missed an Armored Core game and those have gone up in price massively since a new one just released for the first time in like 10 years.
Dang it Riff now I got Margo s word game song stuck in my head thx! 😂
I was jamming with you to Margot’s Word Brain, Riff 😂❤
Crazy that resellers don't like good will charging fair prices lmao, if they charged $2 per game like some people seem to want they'd just be bought out instantly anyways so they still wouldn't get the game to make a profit off.
My local pawn shop started just looking up prices while I'm trying to check out then changing the price.
seems illegal and annoying, I had to stop going there and they had a decent selection
So they said they get their inventory from channel partners. This is where Walmart and target clearance goes.
I found a PS2 FF12 in my local goodwill a few years ago without a price tag on it. I asked for 2 dollars and they accepted it lol
Lucky lol, I got a wii recently for 25
There's a goodbytes by goodwill in omaha nebraska. They have all used electronics. The grid is bigger but it's not the only one
How the fk does Goodwill claim to be a nonprofit organization and get free stuff then turn around and sell it for maximum profit ?
Every charitable organization has administrator costs. It's impossible to run a charity with zero money. 90% goes to charity and 10% goes towards running it.
Dang Margot word brain is such a jam glad riff agreed
Them old knees popping 😂😂😂😂 at 1:06
You and Austin Evans posted Goodwill videos like 30 minutes apart, thats wild.
Thoughts on the market for the 360 network adapters collapsing when the 360 store shuts down next summer?
You should keep en eye on those Call of Duty Blacks Ops 1 & 2. Solo they sell ok, but as a combo together I get 25/30 shipped all day long.
Margot's Word Brain 💆♂️
Got 30 games from a goodwill auction they were supposed to be in good condition when they arrived every game was scratched and unusable. First and last time buying from goodwill online
I used to love the Grid. It was so much better when it was on N Tryon St. I still love the idea of it though.
Do you disclose when you sell things with replacement parts?
He's a con artist.
I just got out of a Salvation Army and they literally had nothing about games. Are all salvation armies like this? Unfortunately profit wasn't everywhere xD
Edit: The good will online stuff is mostly auction-based... We're the ones who spike the prices up.
The big question is who was the Guitar Hero guitar signed by?
I have no problems with a dedicated Goodwill electronics shop selling at higher. If they can sell things and get more money for charity then good for them. We're not talking about necessities here and there are still a ton of games for families.
i ask and see if the goodwill had any games in the back and they had 40 gamecube games payed $120 got a few rare titles Pokemon xd melee mario part 4-6 and othes was a killer deal
Fable 3 in the UK costs £2 or $3 ish the stores buy it for 50p or half a dollar. You guys are getting ripped off paying that kind of price for an old game.
WHAT IS THE APP HE USES FOR RESELLING
I would like to know too! Please answer 🙏 & don't skip.
The KoRn Guitar is maybe worth picking up
Margots Wordbrain thank you Riff...... hahaha
great video Caleb, as always thanks for the upload.
I did some goodwill hunting i saw super mario world cart and they were asking $1500 i got sticker shock 😂
When you put Sly in the pile King Kong was like “please take me too”
why am I just now getting a notification on this video when it came out 3 days ago 🤦🏼♂️
When this store used to be on the old location the prices used to be good. But since they moved to this location the price are close to market price
If this is the one in NC crazy that I've been there I went there while visiting my cousin for a Christmas party and it's not goodwills only game store because they have one in Tallahassee Florida although not quite as nice as this one.
Xyab is basically alibaba but in the us lol
Hard to believe a crappy thrift store I used to find amazing games in about 6 to 8 years ago started taking donated items and doing this mainly because these people like this dude started broadcasting that they found a 100 dollar game for a dollar I can truly say reselling is going down in flames
Reselling is not going down in flames Buddy, go educate yourself
interesting prices and good deals 💿💵
ACTUAL LOL!!! 😂😂😂
.....THANKS, Jeff!..... 😑😑😑😜🙃
🎶Margo's Word Brain!!!🎶
All hail Pixel Game Squad!
...GIVE PIXEL EDITOR A RAISE!!!! 😆😋🙃
xyab charger for sure burning down a few houses
So this is what they do with all the games they get for free lmao this and auction it off for ebay pricing on their site
Goodwill has dvds for 99 cents and cds for 59 cents in my area
I bought them. When i resold them i paid 3$ fees and got 0.51$ out of it..
Theres a video game goodwill?
I don't resale I love My stuff 😊❤ I guess the Blu ray peasants clean you out 😂😂😂 no more resale items for you 😅😅😅 the video games rush ended This year 😢😂😂 Nex rush 😊 I wondered 🤔
Austin Evans released a video about the GRID today too. Weird!
longer more frequent videos please!
Am I missing something, are people on Amazon really spending $35 + for "We Cheer" for the Wii? New copy on price charting goes for $12. That's a huge gap
Happy new year to you and your woman and tell editor Riff he's awesome and happy new years
I guess this is where all the good stuff goes 😑
Yes
I work at a goodwill and can confirm but, my store has started selling more of them in store because corporate doesn't give us any credit when we do send them in
Faaaaaacts
Not really lol
@@oparmy5691lol of course corporate gives no credit, literally all they care about is more money. I’d be careful cuz if they notice a decrease in games sent, they may take notice and punish your location.
imagine walking into a store and you see a guy filming and talking to himself about selling the stuff you would like to buy cheap at a mock up.
didnt really see any older console stuff except for the slim pickins in the glass case
Those stickers on the cases look really obnoxious. Do you sell them with them on, or do you remove them? Do you have a way of removing them without leaving adhesive residue?
Always remove them to avoid returns, goo gone gets them off well if you let it sit on the label for a minute
Hey Caleb, would like to see one of those large online retail arbitrage videos again.
12:11 Super mario Galaxy 1 in the case, shows Super Mario Galaxy 2 comp.... wrong game :D
I went there and was pissed that they were overcharging for games so I couldn't screw them. I get mad when unaware people overprice things and get mad when I can't screw someone.
Hey man you have inspired me to start my own business doing the same but want more advice I'm binge watching your videos to learn from you I haven't started it yet but I want to know more before I do
I was just there yesterday with my daughter and found a couple of xbox games I wanted at a decent price.
seriously wher eis this located.. what the hell... wheres a goodwill games in my area??? dammit
Have a blessed week man of God
That fishing pole controller wasnt for the Dreamcast 🤔
The problem with stores like this charging at or near market value is that everything they sell is untested and as is.
They also have a return policy…maybe just too lazy to drag your ass back to the store?
@@andythompson9699 this specific store only offers in store credit. Also you must have missed the part where I said “stores like this.” I guess you are the lazy one who can’t read.
I live near this store. It is AWFUL. The local game stores in Charlotte are all priced better than this place.
How did he and Austin Evans come up with similar videos at the same time lol
literally just finished Austin's videos and got redirected here haha
Project PlayStation 2? Please
You may have been able to make a buck on MVP 2005 for the Gamecube. I think it’s the last one on the GameCube
Dam u damu as I'll be singing margos word brain all day😂🤣
Totally need that Wii stand😭
Great thumbnail. I feel like this video could explode. 🤞🏼
You know about Sly copper!!!🤩
You passed on that NBA street vol 2???? That's a big profit there Caleb.
Haha resellers complaining about goodwill price too high lol. Can't make this up.
