- Windows cannot be installed to this disk. the selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, windows can only be installed to GPT disks MBR can’t support partitions which are larger than 2 TB.
So we need to convert to GPT
Shift + f10
type: Diskpart
type: List Disk
type: Select Disk (and whatever number disk you want to change)
type: Clean
type: Convert GPT

Man I think the new update for windows 10 or the video I saw about fps slow fix made my laptop sloowww can't open a shit so I tried to reset it normally it says you can't reset it lol 😅😅😅 so I already have had a lot of problems I know how to download using USB I have did it so more then idk how much times 😂😂😂 lol so this happened and I said I wouldn't let that stop me I will reset the PC by downloading windows again and I think I did it for the millionth time 😂😂😂 lol

I’m just finding this video and my NVMe drive just failed on me Samsung 970 EVO 2 TB. I tried the steps but it wouldn’t let me convert it to GPT but I had an old 256GB SSD and it worked without a hitch. I’m still trying to figure how to revive my NVMe. Thoughts?

This was immensely helpful. That bit about pressing Shift+F10 and cleaning disk through that command prompt was exactly what I needed.
It work perfectly. But I didn't get the window that asked me license key. So i tried pressing SHIFT + F10 on the window showing options of installation methods. It work. Thank you so much 😊😊😊

My problem is that I cannot install a fresh copy of Windows 7 on a GPT partition. I have set my BIOS as EUFI and and rebooted my computer. I have an 8TB hard drive and want to use the full capacity of the hard drive for Windows 7. Unfortunately, I get an error when trying to install Windows 7 on a GPT partition. Windows automatically resizes the partition to 2TB limit. Is there a fix for this problem?
Yes because Windows 7 by default runs on BIOS Legacy which uses MBR partition. So this means that MBR partition can max have 4 partition and it is just limited to 2 TB of space. So in short, rest of 6 GB is theoretically useless for a drive in MBR partition.
Try the Gigabyte tool for windows 7, have all the necessary to have a W7 USB for modern computers.

@@RAGeONeK2b on the whole disk. I didn't want to delete all partitions so I followed the instructions. It deleted all partitions anyway. Was left with a whole drive of unallocated space.

I did lose the data on the main driver that i installed the new windows at, but i still have my data on the other drivers. if you have "C" and "D" in one storage drive then you might lose all your data. but if "D" is a separate storage then your data shall be fine.@@hsjsj9832
