Looking beautiful. Never thought about smoothing them out. I should try that. But the biggest takeaway: never be scared of trying things out. Have fun. So many other pages to do and we can only learn from it. You are so right on this! I am scared of ruining a page a fair bit, but when I let that fear go, I usually enjoy myself so much and surprise myself with the result, even if it isn't perfect
Absolutely!! I think a lot of us do have that fear of ruining pages…which holds us back from experimenting. But like you said, when you just let things go and be relaxed about how a page is going to turn out, you will enjoy definitely enjoy the process!! Thanks for taking the time to watch 🤗💗
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain your technique. I love buying new products but sometimes get frustrated because I don’t know the best way to use them. Your videos are awesome!! Keep them coming!!
Amazing! Thanks for sharing! I also find it easier to go in with the paint pens first!! Much like going in with some alcohol markers or any other… but I don’t think I have thought about this process!!!
I never thought of doing this with my acrylic paint pens! I am going to try this tomorrow! Thank you so much for this technique video. It turned out beautiful.
I love your technique on how you use Tooli Art Pens. I love the effect it has on the page. Now I am convinced I need to purchase the Tooli Art Pens. Thank you for the art lesson.
One of the best things for me about the Tooli-art, aside from all the beautiful colors, is that they do fit in a standard pencil case. I have a pretty large selection of Posca, but seldom actually use them because they are so hard to store. I don't color at a desk and the Posca just don't fit in a standard case, even a three pencil loop.. they are too thick and the case won't close. I wind up with them in a box or bag and have to dig through every time I need one, so other than the standard white and black I just ignore them more often than not. The Tooli's will even fit in a single loop case as long as you skip a loop now and then to make a bit extra room.
Yes it is wonderful they fit so well....however, they do keep coming out with new sets so I think I may have to eventually get a bigger case to fit them all in!! 😂💗
I love the way you color and the way that you show us and explain it all in detail. You have such a great personality and I could watch your videos all day😂❤ thank you so much for inspiring me to get better at coloring.
Ahh thank you so much, it means so much to me! Glad you like my videos and I am more happy that it gives you some inspiration for your own colouring. Thanks for watching my videos 🤗💗
I have the Earth and Pastel sets of the Tooli-Art pens and think the colours are fantastic. I have been having issues with some of the nibs getting blocked, so I'm going to try your tip of rinsing them with warm water. I love the blurred background that you created and would like to try this myself.
Thank you so much, so glad you liked it! Yes, try rinsing them after use - because I usually use them for embellishments, they do sit unused for a bit between pages, so highly likely to dry out...but I haven't had any issues since I rinse them out each time 🤗💗
How fun! Thank you for sharing this with us! I just purchased the Tooli-art Pro Series pens myself and I am going to try this now! Beautiful page by the way.
What a great idea! I have been wanting to try the Tooliart pens. I also have hand pain so this would be a great alternative for using pencils all the time. Beautiful work!
This is brilliant! I have a set of tooli art pens unused 😅. I never thought these could be used like real paint! Thank you for sharing! That background is beautiful, maybe a tutorial on how to create that wonderful effect? How do you clean the nibs?
You're so welcome....glad it gave you another idea of how to use the paint pens. I usually remove the nibs when I am done using them and give them a quick rinse under running water so there is no paint left in them - as the paint over time can dry and block the nib. Recently done the background video, hope you found it 🤗💗
Lol I am sorry to confuse you there. I like having both in my collection...and I tend to use both. Maybe think of what you will use the most at first and then you can always save up for the other one for later 🤗💗
Ahhhh this so beautiful!!!! …… and that background is perfection 🤩. I’ve been sitting on the fence with buying these paint pens, but I’m totally sold. I’m such a slow colourist, so this will really help. Thanks so much Shelly, such a helpful video 👏🏼💖
Hi Shelly this is beautiful 🩷thank you for sharing I will have to try this. I have posca pens would they work the same way? The tooli art pens have beautiful colours.😊
Hi Cindy, thank you so much! Yes, I am sure it should work with Posca pens too!! Definitely try them out…let me know how you enjoy playing with them 🤗💗
Hi Shelly, I am sorry it’s been so long since I left a comment, we had our granddaughter for a month during summer break and then I got a horrible stomach flu for a few days, but I am better now. I don’t know art theory either but compared to you, you are genius with color because you came up with this amazing idea with Tooli-Art paint pens. I love to paint, so this will be so much fun for me. I truly appreciate all the time you take to bring us excellent content and to teach us new things. Thank you so much.☺️💗
Hi Keni, so lovely to hear from you! I definitely notice and miss your messages on my videos when you are unable to send them. I am sorry to hear you weren't doing well, but glad you are feeling better!! And also, it must have been so wonderful to have your granddaughter around! Must have been busy but enjoyable time with her. Glad you like the idea for using these pens and I do hope you play around with them...let me know how you enjoy it! Take care 🤗💗
@@shelscolouringjourney Hi Shelly, it’s always so lovely to watch your videos and even more so when I can leave you a comment. Aww, thank you for noticing when I don’t comment. Take care.🤗💗
I love your stash videos and always making the effort and taking the time to show us. I really like the look of the Tooliart pens. Please can I ask where you got that pencil case holder large enough to store them?
What a great video Sherl! I am going to try this with my Tooli Pastel set. I guess the paper needs to be a good quality...I have a lot of Amazon coloring books and they are not the best quality for water painting. Would you agree? Your page looks super!
That’s beautiful Shelly I love the blurred back ground I don’t have your paint pens but I do have the Set of Arrtx paint pens but I haven’t played with them very much ! But I’m definitely going to now 😂 thank you for this video ❤
Ok I have a dumb question 😅 when you rinse the nib in water do you remove it to do so? Or rinse it while it's still in the marker? I have posca pens and I have never rinsed the nib, but they do tend to get gunky so I suppose it is a good idea.
Not a dumb question at all!! I tend to remove the nibs as there would paint sitting in it on both sides of the nib.....maybe it is overkill, but it has been working for me and I have had no issues with blockages which is great (so far at least) 🤗💗
This is such a great video for me, however when I went to check out those pens, they don't seem to have all the colour batches that you showed, there is only one set I can find on Amazon.
Just checked on Amazon, I was able to find them. Not sure why you couldn’t…hmm maybe just search tooli art paint pens and click into their shop, and you should get all the products they do? Hope it works! 🤗💗
There is a sparkle set and a jewel set. Get them and tell us if they are worth it 😂 the sparkle one scares me, I would be worried about it clogging or the sparkles bunching up

I just love the background in that picture. It's so neat how it looks kind of blurred or rough. Very unique.

Wow excellent, & fun. Thanks 🎉🎉🎉
