@@quickshift9641 I know this is late but perhaps they should cos some of the info in this video was misleading or inaccurate. Not hating but for example Dynamic Pro does not disable ABS and TC, they are still on but TC intervenes much later, there is no wheelie control and ABS only works for the front wheel, not the rear and also rear wheel lift detection is off. Similarly with the Cruise control if it's off and you pull backwards it'll set last "saved" speed, forward it's current speed, only once active does the stepping do anything, short click = 1 mph up or down, long pull = continuous increase or decrease. All good info but you'd miss all these critical details if you didn't read the short few pages in the manual
Also when you switch to "rain" mode it derates the motor to 130 HP. and, this is cool, switching to "Pro" quickens the ratio (quickness?) of the twisting of the throttle.
I hope BMW will keep these kind of instrument, the colored tft is fine but im not really a fan of the 2 colored digital instrument, like the on on gsxr 1000
No I have not done the headlight mod, I was looking into doing it but after putting an LED in high beam it helped me mostly since I'm not out after dark to often.
Looking to buy one soon.. any issues with your motorcycle or maintenance costs$$$$ ... i had a suzuki gsxr1000 70k miles n only had to change oil, tires, sprockets, n cosmetic parts but no major issues...
Nope, I'm at 18,000 miles right now and only have done oil changes and of course tires. I am planning to replace chain and sprocket soon though, they are getting pretty warn out at this point.
3 years late to the party but if you tap Info it'll go down to intake temp. Since the intake temp sensor is inside the airbox between the tank and the engine you actually have to get moving to get an accurate reading and then subtract 1-2°C because if there is no airflow it'll just heat up. You can set it to show this in the Race info menu
Does the BMW S1000R come with any electronic steering damper or do we need to purchase an aftermarket damper? Had a crazy tank slapper with my R6 so I had to install one! Looking forward to buy the S1000R because I am done with fullyfaired Supersports. They are not easy on my wrists. Just in love with this naked beauty!
Actually coming from mechanical race bikes these perks work really well when having fun changing engine and suspension modes. Then when it's bumpy hwy commute hit the soft setup. Rain mode makes it easy to ride in the rain with less energy and stress. The double helmet sign is great if riding two ppl especially bumpy roads. Turning off ABS and TC 100% is for party time. Makes JUST RIDE it wayyy more PRACTICAL for race or commute.

Did your clutch lever touch the high beam swith button? Mine did. I hade to move the cluth little down as I could not move the buttons cluster.

Did you do the head light mod, it is stupid that us modle only can have one light on either high or low beam, and the high beam is a joke.

2020, most BMW bikes have the new TFT display, but the S1000R still has the old one...why?

Actually no, in dynamic pro switches off Anti wheelie, TCS but you still have ABS but ABS Pro and combined braking is also turned off.

Yes they work good! You have to make sure to get ones that work with the micro switches for cruise and quick shift.

It does come with an ohlins steering damper.
It comes with a steering damper, but it isn't Ohlins.
