This is why rallying is such a unique form of motorsport. Spectators have a chance to help and interact with the competitors. You'll never see fans get this close to some gay-ass F1-driver.
I was yesterday watching rally in here finland and i saw a real nice BMW i thought my self that he is a good driver. After a moment the driver came back walking and said "interested helpers?" Everyone just laughed :DD
nothing special, they talked about another guy who went out at the same place earlier... and things like that. Then they asked him to get out of the car, which he did to thank for the help... voilà.
