I've been watching Vietnamese traveling vlogs for quite some time. 2 things that tourists are too shy or don't want to offend the host. 1) Don't spread your legs to paddle the boat at Ninh Binh like that. It is really bad form and insulting. 2) Vietnamese coffee is too strong. It can kill people, even for those looking healthy. It is like you get 5 shots in your cup of coffee. Tell them to lighten it up.
I love how you invited the taxi driver to have lunch with you and bought snacks for the boat rower. (She is very sweet.) Chau is a nice addition to your videos. It's cute to hear her speaking English, with a German accent.
I love how your videos always gives a local and in depth perspective! I am going to Ninh Binh in a month and want to do the Tam Coc boat tours as well. I appreciate learning about how much it costs the locals to have that job, provide that service and most interesting of all- a local perspective! As a tourist it will make me appreciate the experience even more through knowing how I am helping to contribute to someone's lively hood. I don't like the way some RUclipsrs portray workers as 'scammers/vultures' without it actually being a scam. You present people as human and treat them with humility and I really enjoy watching your videos. I really hope that you do get sponsored for a Kenya trip :)
Thank you, it really helps when you speak and understand the locals, it makes the trip more meaningful and that’s why I feel more connected when traveling in Vietnam compared to other places.
I literally did the same activities as you, Kyle. Ninh Binh was definitely my favorite place to travel when I was in Vietnam in 2019. My average budget was $150 and I could've spent a lot less, but I was on vacation and wanted to splurge. Like what you said, I didn't feel guilty one bit spending that kind of money since the money goes the distance in Vietnam. Of the the money I spent each day, 30% of it was tips. I tipped generously because life out there is hard.
I’ve traveled to Ninh Binh but after watching your video I plan to return and do it all again through new lenses. One advantage you have over me is speaking Vietnamese. You and Chau were able to have a much more intimate experience with the locals because you can converse with them in their first language. It motivates me to practice and perfect at least a few commonly send phrases for my next trip there. As always I so enjoy your videos. Thank you again for putting a personal and heartfelt spin on them.
Kyle, your vids are great ! Interactions with people, filming and editing are great also. You co-star Chau reminds me of Audrey Plaza with her dry sense of humor. Keep up the great work !
Hi mate, I like the fact that you put the price of things in this video and you talk to the locals about their everyday life. Most people just do tours but they don't understand their hard work and even complain all the time. I know it's not you to put prices, but it actually helps people to understand the local culture a bit better.
Especially WESTERNERS foreigners, they would complain every single penny they pay to these boat tours. I've watched hundred videos of theirs, most of them keep their pennies so close to their chest, and complain about all the scams. Some even complain about the boat market selling food. Glad this guy is kind and has a heart of understanding other people's hardworking.
Hey thanks Kyle it’s good to receive another video this nice beautiful Saturday afternoon thanks again Kyle and you have a wonderful day today take care
Kyle, l really enjoyed this video. We were there, from Australia, in 2011, but only for a day visit. We only went down the river and went to the market. We are going in March 2023 and we will spend 3-4 nights there. You’ve shown us more. Thank you.
Love the video man ! The way you traveled in this video is how I like to travel . I’m not big on doing activities in tourist groups . We are planning on going next year and trying to learn as much as Vietnamese as we can in the mean time . That goat spot looks good and I’m thinking about eating it but I never really had gamey tasting goat before or hard goat. In Dominican Republic it’s usually very tender .
Ninh Binh must be close to what Paradise looks like. I can't wait for the next video from here. The boat lady was amazing. If I were younger, I would definitely be going to Vietnam.
I first traveled to VN in 2004 (very different time) as part of a study abroad program in college. I also went to Ninh Bình and Buôn Ma Thuột during that trip. I'm enjoying your content, and see how much VN has changed (haven't been back since 2010). Things have gone up in price but for the most part still seem really cheap. Hoping to make a trip back in the near future. Keep doing what you do.
Love long videos like this anh Kyle. I can’t wait for your next upload continue to upload these videos are so entertaining. It’s interesting to learn more about my cultural roots being a viet kieu like you makes it so much more relatable
Thank you for doing it justice in my home city. I know this is your second time in Ninh Bình and you really did it much better than the first time. Can’t wait to see the next episode ❤
Thank you!! I actually think that this might be my 3rd or 4th time. I am not even sure...But I know I have been there at least twice before... maybe three times...
Great video. Vietnam is by far my favorite country to visit. The people are so special. I always make it a point to bring a bunch of 10s and 20s. For Americans it’s just coffee or lunch money but it can really make their week
Another awesome video! If you could do a bit of accommodation tour, that would also be great as we can see what type of accommodations are available. Thank you for sharing.
I have been watching your channel off and on for years. One thing I really like about you is that you treat our countrymen/people well unlike some of these f who come back and think they are alphas. I see lots of those but not enough of folks like you. Every time I come back to Ninh Binh, I stay for a month, but not next to Tam Coc. Stay over at Trang An. Lots of people like Trang An boat rides more but I like Tam Coc boat rides more for its serenity.
Amazing shots my dude!! "Felt like travelling to Skull island!" Tip vs diarrhea due to unsafe food: 1 cup of warm boil water + 1/2 tsp salt + 2 tsp sugar. Stir well and sip until finish. It will compensate the loss of fluid and ease stomach upset.

I love your video. I have been to vietnam 20 times , and I have never been to Ninh Binh. I will visit this city next time . I would not try to host blood .
beautiful place as always. You're a nice VK guy who gives good sample of V overseas. BTW your "follower" is cute too. You know? one of the things that distinguishes you from other youtubers (from VN) is that they've used a lot of "check in" "review" in the vlog which I think they are not quite appropriate (correct) ....I may be wrong?
Watch what you eat in VN. The country does not have any regulations regarding the preservative chemicals in foods, which mostly cause cancer overtime. And VN food products have recently been rejected and banned from other countries. There are instances where bleach was used to mask the odor or early spoilage of foods. This source is directly from friends/relatives who live in VN.
To eat the raw goat blood, correctly, you have to squeeze lime into the goat blood or duck blood, it sort of cooks it like ceviche, then top with fish sauce. However, I would not recommend eating it in Vietnam due to sanitary reasons
I just did that same boating last month but did not see or have the opportunity to climb the cliff like what you did. Did I not ask or did I miss that cliff?
"if you see a toilet in your dream don't use it, it's a trap" so true lol. I've had dreams where I'm looking for a toilet because I need to go but I can never find it. Then I wake up and go to the toilet lol.
Could you share the visa aspects of your travel. I'm sure you're on a 30-day Evisa everyone uses. It would help travelers if you did a visa run video. I had to do a Mộc Bài border run to extend my vacation time in June. And how do you pay for all your travel expenses?
Yes, the shots from above were all filmed with a drone. I've never had issues with bringing a drone into Vietnam but that doesnt mean that you won't have any issues.
Never had to bribe anyone. The only time they ever checked my drone was when they wanted to look at the battery and after seeing it, they let me go. This only happened one time in Vietnam through numerous international and domestic flights. I've never had an issue taking my below 250g drone through the airports as a carry on. However, I've had some issues with flying it at certain places, such as Con Dao Island.
Hi Kyle I was wondering how are you getting around Ninh binh? Do you have to rent a scooter? Or it’s easy to find taxi there? Because I will be solo travelling, and I couldn’t ride scooter LOL 😂
In Ninh Bình, i mostly use taxis. Usually if I'm in a city that has a bunch of places that I want to visit, I might ask the hotel to call a taxi for me or I can just call them myself. I don't like to have the hotel book for me incase they take a cut or if I don't like the driver, because traveling and making videos requires a little bit more patience. And by the time I get to the first destination, I will usually have a sense of how the driver is- if he has a sense of humor, if he's patient and understanding that I am filming and producing content. If he's cool then I will ask him if he is willing to continue for the rest of the day. Most of them are and we can work out some fair. It's a lot easier for me since I speak the language. If you don't then I would stay at a decent hotel that can speak English and have them work out a deal on your behalf and make sure you know where you want to go. They might also have motorbike drivers who can take you around by scooter and that would be cheaper. Or if you have the energy and the time, rent a bicycle and bring a raincoat if it’s the rainy season.
Not really, but I avoid crowded places, most cities... I like to take the drone to the outskirts of the city or in an area where there isn't too many people.
If you guys enjoyed this video then please give it a thumbs up and share it with your friends! Come back in the next video for more of beautiful Ninh Bình here: ruclips.net/video/ek3iv3h-tow/видео.html

Kyle, did you guys dye each other’s hair?
Chau is a cutie, I like it when she speaks Vietnamese!
No, David from Kenya dyed Chaus hair, watch the previous video.

I went on this boat ride just recently (Oct. 2022.) Stunning!!! A must do when in Vietnam(:

I think goat is the most popular food in Ninh Binh. It helps to know some of the language do you dont go to a cat restaurant
I noticed that northern foods involved any kind of meats are kinda gamey.
Cool video!!!!!
If you still in Ninh Binh can you stop by Phat Diem?
Not there anymore. videos are usually filmed and takes a few weeks to months to edit depending on how backed up I am.
Kyle, do you need a permit to fly drone in Vietnam?
Not really, but I avoid crowded places, most cities... I like to take the drone to the outskirts of the city or in an area where there isn't too many people.
good show
i wanna go
You are making me so hungry to get back to North Vietnam ... I much prefer it to the South ...
When are you stopping by Chau's hometown?
All of this has already happened, but it will edited and published after the next video, so after Hanoi.
@@kyleledotnet Cool! We get to see where Chau gets her weird and quirky personality from! LOL
We already featured Chau's birth and hometown of Nurnberg on my channel already. Bac Giang is just where her mom was originally from.
@@kyleledotnet So, where is her dad from?
@@KP-xi4bj Hanoi.
Oh i like this place
Châu is beautiful
Thanks Kyle
