at 5:44 why wouldn't we go to library of the whole computer? aren't applications usually installed on the entire applications folder and not only a user?
Yes but if an app is going to store additional data it would do it on a per-user basis. For instance cache files, downloaded media, preferences, etc. Those would all be at the user level, not the system level.
@@macmost ah okay i see. Thank you for answering my question! Also, if you don't mind answering my next question, what is stored on the library folder of the whole system then? I'm new to mac and just would like to have more knowledge .Thanks again
Don't need cleaners. ruclips.net/video/qcu5H3ZfyqQ/видео.html As for Malwarebytes, the free version is fine for a one-time run if you really messed up and can't get to an expert for help. But better to be cautious about downloading anything and never need it.
Another method I use is to right-click the app and select "show package contents", drag this folder to trash. Go back to the App in (apps folder) and you see it's 0 KB, drag it to the trash.
If you have more than one startup drive or OS on your machine, there will be application folders for those Systems that won't show up in Launchpad for your current startup disk.
What about the "About this Mac" Storage section that lists installed apps? It also seems to show Steam games unlike the Applications folder so it seems to also spot stuff inside Application Support. If I use Delete there, will it differ in any way compared to dragging and dropping an app package to the Trash?
Yes, you can use that too (new since I made this video). It would be the same as uninstalling from LaunchPad or dragging the app to the trash. I think with Steam games, you want to uninstall inside the Steam app where it may give you even more control.
I was wondering, my MacBook Pro started making this rattling noise, it went away for a few hours then came back. Mac is working fine other than that. Please advise.
The only thing that can rattle is the fan, unless it is an old MacBook, in which case the hard drive can rattle. But if a drive was making that much noise, then it would probably not be working.
macmostvideo How about an antivirus and firewalls ? Do mac os need an antivirus like “bit-defender total security” or the other security applications? Or mac os has built in antivirus it self to handle security issues?
Hey I'm new to macOs...can you accidentally delete any important apps on the MacBook or Apple just won't allow you to delete at all? I was cleaning out the Utilities folder in Applications and I'm not sure if I deleted any important apps. Thanks
You shouldn't be able to easily delete any critical apps that can't be re-downloaded in the Mac App Store. But it is hard to judge what is "important" in your case.
Where are you doing this from? LaunchPad? The Applications folder in the Finder? Is your account an admin account? Are these apps you added, or ones that are part of the System?
The Mail app is part of macOS, you can't delete it. It isn't very large at all. 30MB. That's tiny for an app. If you have a 500GB drive, that it would be 0.006% of your drive!
Not really. You can find a shirt and cap at www.zazzle.com/store/rosenz but that doesn't help to support MacMost in any way (too expensive so I set the prices to minimum). If you are looking to help support MacMost, see macmost.com/patreon
When I uninstall and app that is on a free trial, does that mean that I won't be charged for it when the trial period ends? Or, is there an extra step I need to take in order to not be charged?
Case-by-case It depends on how the app developer set things up. Pay attention when you install to what you need to do. For instance if it asks for your credit card number and tells you you'll be charged in 30 days, then you need to take action to stop it. But most free trials require you to pay to keep using the app after X days. The app can't magically take your money if you haven't given them any info. In those cases, just uninstall the app and move on.
Where do you see your RAM is being used at 40%? That's completely fine. Usually it is closer to 100%. Modern operating systems will try to use all RAM as much as possible. Having 60% of your memory unused doesn't help you in any way. If more apps need memory, the OS reallocates automatically. This isn't something you need to manually manage. Just use your computer and let the OS worry about memory management.
Very good, but..... App Cleaner really is good. Not malware. Very simple. It just scans the folder locations automatically and gives you the option to leave anything you're not sure about or that has settings, etc.
