Wouldn't be better with a smoother transition between the stages? It seems a bit fast to me. Really cool effect btw!
On the bottom side of the screen there is a setting's icon, if you click on it and press Playback Speed and use 0.25x it may help out a little i mainly use this when the tutorials are as fast as this.
i think maybe it might look better if he enabled motion blur because right now it looks like stop motion, still awesome though
@@foxd888 he's talking about the symbiote effect itself, not the video (it's also a timelapse, not a tutorial)
You're right but this is kind of a limitation of using the geo nodes for this type of effect. They are recalculated at every frame, there is no persistent data across the timeline that would give it a notion of "flow" like the cloth or fluid simulation have. So it will look like stop motion no matter because each frame has it's unique mesh that doesn't account for the previous frame data.
@@baronlanteigne If you ran it with a low enough time step I suppose you could average the frames into something that looked functionally like motion blur. After all, real motion blur doesn't really require motion vectors.
Honestly, in my opinion the movement effect is rather unconvincing. The symbiote moves way too fast, and doesn't seem to be affected by the gravity either.
I think that the "real" symbiote would move around by throwing some whip-like appendages around and growing its main body around them, instead of just having this mass appear out of nowhere.
On a technical side, however, the actual body, once it stops moving, looks very nice and convincing 🙂
Yeah, I agree. At the beginning , it wasn't designed to be animated. I suppose I have to rethink how the mesh it is generated.
If I think of it looking like a fast growing organism then this is a cool effect.
@@antoinebagattini It just needs a bit of wiggle or bounce. But it's still really good for static objects!

I'm a bit conflicted, cuz on the one hand it doesn't really feel like a symbiote, but on the other hand it still looks cool as hell

Anyone can learn how to do it. Blender is free and you can learn how to do anything on the internet.
Yeah what Connor said. Literally anyone can learn how to 3d model and animate with blender and create amazing stuff. Stop thinking how cool it would be to be able to do it, and just jump into it! :)
The hardest thing is just learning how to stuff, since it is overwhelming at first because they're so many things that you can do. But once you watch tutorials on how to do the basics, and the more advanced stuff, something that took you 4 hours to do the first time can be done in 30 minutes.
It would be super awesome if carrion supported RTX because this is probably what it would look like

I've been trying to get something going with your ivy gen group and after watching an AskNK video managed to get ivy to show up and interact with a specific mesh but he's using a different version so the video's not that helpful for a geo node noob. I couldn't get the old attributes version to do anything and the fields version I assume is working as intended, I'm just "special"
