Hi, I am Francisco.
We are a group of vehicle enthusiasts looking for Car meets, car shows, drag racing, roll racing, New cars, etc,.
the turbine sensor is a sensor located in the mechatronic and it controls the input speed of the transmission when this is in motion. when the transmission turbine sensor is not operation properly the TCM set a fail safe mode transmission malfuntion and runs a safety protocol to prevent major problems to the transmission. the turbune sensor can not be replaced by manufacture specification but it can be replaced as i showed in this video but must be very careful when this repair is performed. the recomended repair to fix this issue is to replace the mechatronic unit.
this problem will affect the following models

I did manage to replace the turbine speed sensor by myself, yet it was challenging. I wouldnt want to do that again soon. Everyone doing this, the secret is to solder from behind those small contacting domes, that is to stick the soldering gun tip into those holes and add the led or whatever you use as addon material on top. The black box can be pryed open with the help of many cotton buds, the ones you clean your ears with. You just stick those tightly between the tabs on the black box.

you have so much knowledge on the 750li f02. i have a error code 400116, and the D is flashing, its locked on D, so i thin it is based on the research ive done. before i have the mechatronics replaced, i wanted to see if you are familiar w the error code 400116. the transmission never made or felt as if it had issues. it just happened one day and now im in the process of doing whats needed. any advise or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

4:06 How did u remove the cover? It is held on by at least 6-8 clips. Did u break any clips to remove it to get to the ribbon cable?
Hello, I have a 2012 750li, it was sending code for turbine sensor, I replaced the control valve with a rebuilt BMW unit, now I have no shift for any gear, not sure valve is in shift location do you have a pic of how it should be?

I have an 740i with 160k miles and all these repairs are coming left and right... turbine sensor, substitute function combination, ratio monitoring clutch E implausible and etc etc etc....
However....i did not secure the oil lines, as they were leaking, properly in place and all my oil burst out of the gearbox on first test run, giving it some throttle. I was due for an oil change anyway ! So, you can do it, but it challenging and may even result in damaging the gearbox.
Hey Dan, i see you were able to pry open the black section separation. i am wanting to do the soldering on the buds as im getting replacing the turbine speed sensor but very difficult to get under the black section. any pics you can provide as to how you put the cotton swabs to make it happen? much APPRECIATED!
@@soundsfromabove1 it hasnt worked out eventually i'm afraid as a DIY job. I took the unit apart and sent it to a specialist electronics shop. Damage was around 400$, in Europe.
@@soundsfromabove1 but yes, got it pryed open with cotton buds once, and secondly with thin nails. It was crazy....im not doing that again...what i did wrong was not being able to solder the contact points to the ribbon cable and had to ship it to a specialist for that.
thank god bmw don't manufacture airplanes components
