That being said, Both Ilia and Tyson were always shorter than their opponents, they both use body punches a lot, they both have the most devastating ko power of their generation, they have the same type of finishing ratio, they both base it on masterful technique of evading opponent' strikes and countering with multiple strikes combination on both body and head levels. There is a minimal aspect to their flow, the technique is flawless with high priority to placement of feet, constant control of balance, optimal use of hips power, evading under opponent punches, very active head movements outside the center line for evasion, and complex combos of devastating punches to overwhelm the opponent capabilities. When I watch Topuria I see levels of balance and efficiency, boxing defense, traps and faints, that make me think of ramon deckers, buakaw benchamek, alexey ignashov or mike tyson. Ilia is completely above his competition in the ufc.
