I love Ironsworn / Starforged... The way the game mechanics lead your story without the need to thing what to do next is realy good and the easy way to create enemies and challanges makes it run smoth. Starforged can be used to any theme , thankfully it is sci-fi, that way we can re-theme it to other settings easely
I live in a secluded forested area too, but I have never tried playing outside. I worry that my papers will get blown away or I'll lose my dice in the ground.
I definitely have my papers under books and such. I live in a high winds area, but overall I think it’s worth the risk- more breathing space for my creativity.
Ok okey! I buy the books, don’t insist 😅 I have been months listening great stuff about this game system. Cool video! Subscribed Looking forward to try The Expanse setting 😊
it can be easier to play on Ironjournal/Stargazer apps or roll 20 as all the moves and assets are in a list that drop down when you need them instead of using the book. Or you get the Quick reference guides.
It does get easier if you utilize the digital spaces and tools. I did use Stargazer for the mapping for my first games, but my own bias for pen n paper won over- and here I am struggling through at my desk. You don’t need to keep track of everything if you don’t want to. Just utilize the system how you want to. There are plenty of moves to choose from, but you don’t need to use them all.
It really only seems that way. There are just a few basics that you can use for everything, then gradually add more if you want as you get comfortable.

Yup 👍🏽
Thanks for addressing the use of Starforged with existing settings. This was a very helpful and interesting video.
Why thank you! I’m a bit bias obviously. lol 😂
I would love to use is on some of the Star wars FFG books since starforged is just much more straight forward to use
Starforged + Vaults of Vaarn sounds awesome! I've played Starforged already on my channel but Vaults is on my shortlist for an upcoming campaign.
Yea- I’ve played it on my own -off screen- and absolutely had a blast. Very excited to start a new playthrough with both of them.
