I like your comment at the end about structure are solo PC and or NPC interactions. Without it seems like your just saying to say things. Even though that is essentially what you’re doing by playing a solo game. 😃
Thanks man! Yeah, NPC stuff is funny that way for sure -- Starforged went a LONG way making Bonds its own experience track. It's funny, just as you're saying, I get this feeling like "Damn, I feel like I'm just... making these NPCs chat this way for the betterment of the story I'm trying to tell" and then I tell myself "Yeah dummy that's the point, you think it's fun so do it!" Going from a life of GMing for groups to solo games is a real psychological shift I still struggle with.

Hell yeah man! Lacking all else, one thing I do have is a lot of excitement for all of this. Ironsworn particularly was one of the biggest times in the past decade when reading an RPG book really felt mind-expanding, like new horizons were kind of opening up for me. Thanks :)
I know he personally loves making that stuff, but apparently no one uses it! I respect a creator who does what's best for audience demand, but yes, I love a great bestiary myself. They're such a huge part of creating a setting!

I have only run Ironsworn as Guided Mode and I love it. I have strong background in PbtA games like The Warren and Dungeonworld, so i have leaned on that background. I am looking forward to Ironsworn 2e and will probably still play 1e as well (the time shift helps with that). I have asked Shawn if he will lean a little more into explicit GM procedures (not advice!) for the next Ironsworn iteration like you find in other PbtA games. I think that would help new GMs bridge the gap more easily. I'd love to see your thoughts and tips after running Ironsworn in Guided mode.
I'm super interested in Guided Mode, but also kind of intimidated by the prospect! I think my biggest barrier for running Guided Mode is that Ironsworn feels like a system you have to sorta UNDERSTAND to run, and so a big part of guiding it would be TEACHING it.
You said 2009 for 2019 and 2002 for 2022 for the releases of Ironsworn/Starforged, I had to do some quick googling because I was so confused. Funny little blah.

Oh 100%, especially since it appears to me like Sundered Isles has a litttttle bit more to keep track of across the board than Starforged does.
