When I got started, I had the thought of everything is playing. It really takes the pressure off. Sometimes I look of the mythology of a creature, or draw a picture, or read up on the weather in Alaska and how to build an igloo. I find solo RPGs give a lot of freedom in that way.
The concept/advice that "everything is playing" from GG gave me freedom to just create. Whether it is drawing a map, designing a dungeon, creating a fab NPC to fit in that world - it's all playing. Even if I don't"finish" my solo campaign. I enjoyed your share.
Volume was a little low but I got through it ok. I have a couple of solo roleplaying guides on pdf but I haven't looked at them much. I'm currently playing The Black Sword Hack solo as I have the day off!
Great and insightful thoughts! I got to find out the solo game master guide a time ago, and it help me a lot, there so much inside to guide and change your mindset. Unfortunately i dont have a usual group to play, so i usually play solo, the book helped me to enjoy every little aspect of my “play” experience and also guide me in some core concepts of the solo play! I hope to see more of this kinds of videos, they are super insightful! Keep the good work!!
This was a good video/opinion piece on solo gaming and the Solo GM's Guide. There were the usual tuttings that most reviewers/commenters/essayists do but overall a pretty good listen. I rarely watch these kinds of videos, treating them like a pod cast really, so atmosphere is not as much of an influence. However, I'd recommend pulling the blinds/curtain if you film against the window during the day. Atmosphere in a format/setting like this is better conveyed through warmer tones and window light during this season is far too cold for cozy sit down chat.
Nice video! I can relate to the "start stop start stop" feeling of solo play. Sometimes its nice to just get a little thing going and leave it. "Perfection is the enemy of good" as Voltaire said. I used to be disappointed that my solo games never lasted all that long. Maybe that isn't so bad after all.
Great video! I also got this book on release, but we had opposite reactions. I was not thrilled with it at all. But I also thought it was more of a book to facilitate solo roleplay and not a book about ideas and concepts. I was looking for something like Mythic at the time,

That’s a pretty good read. I learned it through the teachings of the Buddha. A family friend introduced me to that idea and it stuck with me. Thx for the insight!

Good to know. I’ll try being a bit closer to the mic next time! Never soloed BSH. Enjoy the day off!

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions!
One of my first videos was reviewing that book. It is a great resource for solo gaming with great advise. Keep up all the great work.
Thanks! I plan on it!
