- Come along as we install containers at three commercial properties. I love that my work takes me from epic estates to city apartments. Today we visit three urban apartments whose management company loves to treat them to seasonal florals. We will plant in shade, part shade and full sun conditions… marrying them all together with vibrant hues that are sure to make everyone smile.
Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Keep these container videos coming! I know I am so influenced by other RUclips gardeners pushing PW annuals that I am so unaware of so many cool & unique annuals and ways to combine them. I am definitely using your trick of cutting out a piece of paper to mirror my container and take it to the garden center to build a beautiful shade container.
Will do! 😆 And I love PW annuals and definitely use my fair share, but this world is also a big wide open wonder! There are so many goodies to be had.
YES!!! Absolutely agree with @RoGardens' comment! 100%!!! And yes, the trick with a piece of paper to mirror container size is brilliant! Thanks @HelloGarden!
This was just the kind of thing I was hoping to see from you!😊 Would love to see more of your work ❤️ Also would like to see updates of these spaces later in the season 🎉 Happy gardening!🌿
That’s the goal! I always want to be considerate of my clients’ privacy though… so sadly I can’t take you all everywhere. 🌱
@@HelloGarden Thank you for sharing what you can! Thoroughly enjoy watching your videos!❤️
Maybe your clients can send you photos after a month or so? We would love to see the “After” 😂
Love how you talk about your plants like they are people 😉
They’re like my little green people. 😊
@@HelloGarden 🤣
Loved seeing your day in the life of a designer...so cool. Those pots will brighten their environments beautifully.
Isn’t it so cool that a property management company invests in seasonal containers?!? I feel like it’s such a gift.
Yes, I really enjoyed “ riding along” with you! 🇨🇦👏🇨🇦
I love the stories you tell about the plants😊. Having conversations with each other 😅. I can totally imagine the spiller saying to the coleus that may hog space in a few months, 'ya bug me, I'm going to jump over the side where theres much more space'.😂😂
Right?! I feel like there’s always a whole world of conversation we never hear. 💕
LOVE LOVE LOVE this video! Thank you!
Awwww… thank you! I have another goodie dropping tomorrow. 😊
More containers please! These are so helpful, containers can go anywhere no matter the size of your garden, and not all of us can afford to fill a garden with perennials except over many years. Love love these videos!🎉
Great discussion on theming containers in various light conditions. Thanks
Lovely combinations 🥰 they look fantastic in this kind of area 🥰
Thank you so much!!! The client was happy. 😊
So fun!!! I’m inspired!
I use some large containers in my gardens because of tree root competition. Some great ideas here for me!
This is SUCH a great point. So many of us have such extensive tree roots that containers are the only way to plant. So glad it inspired you!
Just discovered your channel. I live in Toronto 🇨🇦 but ironically my favourite NFL team is the Seattle Seahawks 😂 & I’ve been several times to the city! Love what you do with the containers!! ❤🌺🪴
Container gardening is my favorite. It's like a mini landscape!
I'm off to the store to see if they have the annuals I've been planning for mine.
I just received an order of perennials (Christmas in May!) and had to place them where I think I had intended (it's been a while). Now if only the weather would give me grace so I can get them in the ground. (Though I'm grateful for the rain.)
That’s exactly what I say!!! Totally mini-landscapes. 🌱
I loved this! Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. I learn so much from each of your videos. YOUR MAKING ME LOVE CONTAINERS AGAIN!! I look forward to each of your videos!!
You are so welcome! Man. Danielle, you’re making me feel like a million bucks this morning. 🌱
Found your channel through Janey and I love it! It’s always great to get more container ideas!
I'm so happy to be found! Welcome... and I have no shortage of container ideas. Ha!
loved all the containers. you done such a beautiful color combination. thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching! 💕
So pretty love what you created with the pots.
Thank you so much. I have to say that I love that my work brings me from incredible estates to the urban streets of Seattle. Flowers for all!!!
Beautiful containers!
Thank you! 😊
Would love to see an update on these containers when they have filled in and the plants are blooming.
Yes! I’ll try to show some updates as I go. I have a dozen around my house that I’ll showcase updates on as well.
❤love this video
Thank you so much for watching!!! 💕
Will the flowers spread enough in the raised beds to get to the edge of the brick to fill in all those spaces? I have 2 window boxes in deep shade and due to the size of the boxes I have some challenges planting them. The Impatiens look like they would add color.
This is a GREAT question. With care? Absolutely. But also so much depends on the gardener. They say 10”x10”, but I’ve definitely had them grow bigger and smaller.
How often do u change out the majority of the soil in your pots. I like the idea of using compost etc in the pots
So I actually only ever fully change a pot if it is excessively rootbound or I have a fungal disease in the soil. Other than that, it’s usually just the top 6-12” when I change the container each season.
❤
💕💕💕
I know this might be a stupid question but what location do you live I see you in a coat and hat as if your cold and all those beautiful flowers blooming
Great question! I’m in Seattle and I do run a bit cold naturally. The morning was cold and overcast and I knew I’d be in chillier shade conditions so I dressed warmly. By afternoon it was sunglasses and t-shirt weather! This is spring in Seattle. 🤣
I’m curious as to why you put a heliotrope in a full shade situation.
Great question! I trialed it in several “bright shade” conditions and it worked really well! It lives wet feet too so that helps. I get BOLD when I know how a plant behaves in certain microclimates.
*loves
I notice you put choleus in each pot. Aren't they notorious for getting rather large? I would think they will take over the pots.
Great question! Coleus, like many plants, come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Some trail, some only get a foot tall, others are monsters at 2+ feet. I also tend to know which pots will see the most growth based on location and exposure. You may have different conditions and experience. So many little details. But I also love my plants to touch. I want it to feel like a voluminous single arrangement.
