Xeon gang, using a E3 1270(i7 2600) and a E3 1270v3( ~i7 4790). They are perfect for older Gpus but the IPC sadly show their age in 3A games.I would pick a R5 5600 and whatever Am4 mobo for demanding games, staying on the "cheap" side.
You could pull the same experience with a 6th gen i5 or maybe a bit newer, especially if you are playing at a locked 60, which lets face it, most people building a PC like this is not going to use a 240Hz monitor.
@@HardWhereHero yeah but in some countries like mine (venezuela) lga 1151 CPUs are overpriced as hell, older xeons, haswell and ivy bridge are kinda the only low budget option if you want a "decent" graphics card
I had a similar thing with Valorant when I was testing the i7-5775C, I fixed the frame rate cap by playing in Windowed Fullscreen. Not sure if that will fix the UI bug though!
Used for a long time a 1270, than later a 1230 v2, than a 1230 v3, actually my nas is running a 1260L (1155), a proxmox computer running a 1240 v5, and my desktop with 2680 v4, aliexpress always helping us buy good cpus for an affordable price, without crazy desktop reail prices for intel cpus from this eras, really awesome video.
Too back Intel took the old Xeon backdoor away. I got an extra three years out of my x79 system thanks to the E5-1680v2, and I upgraded several x58 systems to a 6-core Xeon, RX 580, etc then resold them. These E3 and E5 Xeons were used in business and banking machines by the masses, sometimes on a lease. After the lease was up the corporation would opt for new PCs. These old business class PC's would get resold in lots then stripped down. Some of the parts used in a lot of these weird Chinese motherboards came from these stripped down business computers.
I just picked up a xeon e3 1271 v3? I believe it's on par with the 4790. I was able to get it for 27 dollars. Excited to see how it does :) thanks for the great video
My Pc with the 4770 starts and works faster than any other PC i used and have. (I made a very short video from it) There is a 6700k, R2600, R2700x to compare here at home. I love every of my old but gold looking PCś. But the 4770 is my true beauty. Thanky for remember me why i use not everytime the newest. Becouse of no need for it.^^ Greets and hold up that good work! I follow you now.
Hello, I really like the idea behind this channel, especially with the incrimental gains we've seen in tech in the last 10 years. If you ever find the time, I think the radeon r9 290 is worth doing a video on as its turning 10 in october and im still rocking most of my games at 1440p high 60 fps. They are also dirt cheap.
Thanks for the sub and your comment. I can't promise anything since R9 290/x 380/390 are a bit rare in the place I live. The idea isn't bad at all. AMD's Volcanic Islands combined with Nimez drivers may still be relevant in 2023.
I am getting a Gigabyte b85-d3h-a... Will it work with 1866mhz ram? I will use a xeon e3 1246 v3... And how much difference will it be with 1866mhz vs 1600mhz?
I rock a 1265l V3 on a mini thinkcentre as my home server. It's got the perfect amount of power. Can even run proxmox with several VMs. Love it. Out benches an i7 of the same Gen.
the 1245 is closer to a i5 4790. The CPU with the same clock speed at a 4770 is the 1231v3. Both are still awesome for $20 on ebay. Xeons are better than i7's because they have better thermal conductivity are are made for heat day in and day out. Fortnite runs bad on its first load up due to caching shaders. Once they are loaded you wont have many issues. My kiddo has a 1231 v3 and a 500xt and it runs Fortnite above 120 fps 1080p FSR medium and view distance and texture on high. Not sure why yours was struggling unless the Nvidia driver overhead really makes that much of a difference.
Thanks for watching and the comment. 🙏 ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/compare.html?productIds=75055,75122,75462,80910,80806 Here is Intel's official spec table comparing all the 4 cores 8 threads Haswell CPUs that have similar base frequency to the i7-4770 and all these compared to the higher speed i7-4790.
please reply is it a good idea to pair it with rtx 4060? I have placed order for rtx 4060 already how severe the cpu bottle neck will be? I have the same cpu
4060 only uses x8 PCI lanes of x16 port, since old systems are either PCI 2.0 /3.0 seriously affecting the performance. 3060ti /3070 might be better suited as it uses all PCI lanes that is PCI 4.0x16 So 4060 running in PCI 3.0 system have 8GB/sec bandwidth But 3060ti/3070 will have 16GB/sec in pci 3.0 mode
I wish my friend that I could make new videos but at the moment, I have very little free time as my family is my top priority. I'm not saying I won't make new content in the near future, just that it will be two to three videos per year.

This channel is so underrated. The information, the story telling, the editing, the accent?!, its so entertaining watching ur videos keep it up!
Thanks for the sub and your nice comment.
0:06 I heard about LGA 1700 sockets warping, but this is ridiculous...
The truth is...
that was a good one.

What about with E3-1285 v4?
No test videos or special specs
mw watching you on xeon 1245 v3 with 8 gb ddr3 1600mhz with gtx 1060 3gb 431 psu
I've the same processor but my CPU wattage goes up into the 90s or even touch 100watts why is that
Your are using igpu
@@umerabbasi834 no I'm not I'm using my Rx 570 I've also turned of igpu In my mobo bios

not a god idea. best for this cpu would be gtx 1660/s/ti. let us know how it goes though!
