Fit and feel of this is beautiful. It says made in Taiwan but entire tool feels like a quality design and build I'm very happy with this one. Are there any other Klein tools you can recommend for me?
@@TrailTrek I would have to go dig my klein electronics tool bag up out of the basement. Next time I go down there I will look. Going down to the basement is like going on Safari. 🤣
It does look great, I love the higher tooth count as you talked about. One thing I think you miss out on in your ratchet reviews is how much backpressure is needed for the ratchet to work. I've got some where a nut can be to tight for finger-tight, but to loose for the ratchet to work, which is really, really annoying. Would love to get your opinion on how much force is required on a nut/screw for the ratchet to activate. Also with this one in perticular seams strange that they have that big hoop on the end. Seams like it would be great to make it a 10mm end, since 10mm is so common, still a big enough hole to put on a caribina, or whatever else people would use that end for
As usual you are spot on I should have mentioned back drag, and for those not sure what were are on about its the friction on the swing back. If its not right (as it can be on crap ones) it can be very very annoying using a ratchet as you end up tightening for ages until the fastener grips enough to overcome the back drag and you can start ratcheting. I've just sat on my floor here with a bit of wood and three screws and here is what I think. The back drag friction is slightly less than the Sabrecut mini. Although i am testing in a non scientific way I'm went back and forth and the Klein definitely has the least out of my three mini ratchets but then i cant give you a figure. I need to pull on the end of each one with a way of measuring force to compare. Sorry for the omission. The end loop looks out of place but it feels incredible in operation it means you feel like you have a much larger tool in your hand when you don't. Definitely go have a go on one in a store i have found this one way more comfortable to use than my others so far. Its actually made me want to go get more Klein tools.
Brilliant. Can I ask if the finish on yours is holding up? Mine is fine so far but it's one of the things I like a lot about this one and I hope it doesn't come off or chip.
@@TrailTrekbeing for knives I don’t do too much to it but being tossed around with some other bits and things it still looks brand new after 3 ish years now
I work in HVAC/R and this thing is one of my favorite tools! It replaced my service wrench along with a few other things! How about that Laser edge logo! Made in USA one of the last things made worth buying here!
Yeah I was of the same mind myself so I went to the website and yes 72 teeth. Then this afternoon I sat and counted the clicks, and yes its a 72 tooth. So even though its a small mini ratchet it must be very well made as its 72 tooth and I've not broken it yet I've been using it at work and in the house there today. Are you tempted to get one?
For me it's the nylon insert 5/16 hex nuts I sometimes get on long threaded bolts in cabinets where I can use this and the bolt goes though the head not that I install those but I sometimes adjust them if they are in my way when I'm working.
Forget quick, I love how much more information you've provided than most others reviewing this tool. Thank you!
Thank you you made my day :-)
yup.... im buying it.... Just for the Screw !!
Ha ha ha ha well i had a good look and it looks like a PH1 self tapper so always handy to have. :-)
boom boom boom boom, sold!
Its been many years since I bought a Klein tool. But back in the day, they were top quality and US made.

They still make a bunch of pliers, screwdrivers and bits in the USA from what I know

Nice video, I’ve got one, I really like it in my knife care pouch it’s thin and really helps if I need a little extra torque

I have a SabreCut but I don't like the plastic selector switch. Any plastic on the Klein?
Great review. Did not over talk it.
Thank you. Normally I waffle on to oblivion so its not like me :-)
Q: Are you quite sure that tool has 72 teeth? have to be pretty damn small - ignore - yes, 5 degrees, 72 teeth.

Does anyone have an example of when you'd use a 5/16 hex on the other side?

On a 5/16 nut or bolt.
Price ?
Right now I can pick up a new one for around 20 quid. That's about 25 dollars.
