I showed my son "phantom of the opera" by floor and henk, and he was singing it at my mom's so she asked what it was and he played the video on youtube, I then showed her a couple more songs by Nightwish and last week she bought a 2.1 sound system to add to her TV so she could listen to Nightwish with better sound. She is on her way to 81 and just discovered metal through Floor and Nightwish... I've been a metalhead since '87 but just enrolled the Nightwish Army this year. Greetings from Uruguay !

@@atlantis315 wish I would have found the new nightwish earlier and did not miss the concerts in Buenos Aires... I had listened to Nightwish in the 90's and didn't pay much attention (shame on me).!
I love the fact that you don't have that "metal is just noise!" attitude and you can totally see how the sound of heavy guitar and beating drums can convey different types of feelings than a clean acoustic can. And music is exactly that, it's a language to convey feelings, feelings of love, of excitement, of happiness... but also sadness, loss, despair... but also anger, hate, power, aggressiveness etc...
They're all on the wonderful spectrum of human emotions and they're all important and needed. So there needs to be music for all of it!
So it's good that music can convey all these feelings, and for it to do that, you sometimes need something different than just the clean acoustic guitar and happy vocals. :)

I first discovered Nightwish in 2002 while I was on a trip to France. Their album "Century Child" was a new release and had a big display in the record store. There was a pair of headphones there so I could listen to the album. 15 seconds of "End of All Hope" was all I needed to buy the album. I listened to it twice in my hotel room that day, and the next day I went back and bought another album of theirs, "Wishmaster."
I've been fortunate enough to see them in concert three times, once with Tarja on their first U.S. tour in 2004, and twice with Floor. Each concert was absolutely amazing, and remembering each concert still brings tears to my eyes. They are experiences that stay with you even years after the fact. The band members are absolutely amazing people as well as being top notch musicians. Nightwish is a band I will never tire of seeing live because their shows are always the best.

Nightwish have been my favorite band for years and they even "saved" my life in a way with their music. They are sooo much my favorite band that I almost saw them 40 times and i'm even the only person in my friendgroup that has seen then the band with all 3 singers Tarja, Anette and now with Floor. I even met Tuomas (the keyboard player) very randomly in the smoking lounge during their Endless Forms Most Beautiful tour in Amsterdam and i was just starstruck so i spoke too him for a solid 15 minutes about everything.

I saw Nightwish 2 times live. The first time with Annette and the second time with Floor. Unfortunately, the last one was a total mess. If you listened closely you could barely hear Floors voice over the playback voice. Emppu also drank water in one of his guitar solos... It was a really huge disappointment. The first concert was absolutely breathtaking. And I saw ReVamp touring with Epica. I was way more impressed about Floor than Simone. So... Yeah... They are talented, all together. But they are far away to be called "best liveband" after a scam like this. At least for me 😔

Love this band, seen them live 4 times. Such an awesome live band! First learned about Nightwish through RUclips. I was an Epica fan and RUclips gives you links to similar music and I discovered Nightwish clicking on one of those links. Then a month later I found they were coming to a city near me and went to see them at The Palladium in Worcester, MA. 😁 I love your reactions, you ladies are so fun. There's something that sets Nightwish apart from any other band. There music isn't just songs, ever one takes the listener on a journey into a fantasy, carried away from reality to places that belong in our sweetest of dreams. Full of exciting adventure where we can meet beautiful maidens, ferocious dragons, green rolling hill, sky scraping mountains, and the widest of oceans. Yeah, thses guys rock my world inside out.

I saw Nightwish in 2016, in a grimy little club in Oklahoma City. The venue only holds a thousand people, and it wasn't sold out. There wasn't enough room on the stage for the musicians to move around much, so I was standing about 15 feet from Marco the entire time. You can't imagine the force with which a Nightwish show hits you in such a small setting.
The only drawback was, without a crowd, they can't very well exchange energy with their audience the same way they can in arena settings. This is why we a moral obligation to expose as many people as we can to Nightwish - because NOBODY walks away unimpressed.
The most infuriating part of this, for me, is that seven miles from that grimy club there's a 40,000 seat Basketball arena. Last time around, Garth Brooks sold it out two nights in a row. TANJ it !

You should listen (even if you don't react to it) all of this concert, it's definitely worth it. Floor's voice is almost flawless and the mixing is just so awesome and satisfying.
Also, The Greatest Show on Earth live in Tampere is pretty amazing (and long).

Great reaction to this masterpiece thank you! Now when you asked it... I, finnish person, DID know about Nightwish already in the 90's, but for some god knows what reason, I didn't get them in the first place. I was into Marilyn Manson and that kind of alternative, satanic metal music. But recently I got divorced and being in deep waters I somehow got back to Nightwish and WHAM! now I'm totally addicted to it. Best addiction I've ever had, and it's not even harmful but only time to time some of my tasks are being neglected because I'm just listening and/or watching Nightwish.

The first time I heard metal was in school, I was like ew gross why are they shouting. Then I heard Nightwish from my best friend and his whole family that listened to them and thought it was really beautiful. 10 years later they're one of my favourite bands, and I like the heavier stuff now too 😁

Nightwish has been muy favorite band for almost 13 years now...and I've never seen them live because I didn't have the money. But I always be greatfull to Tuomas because of his music is that I decided to study classical music and play in big orchestra and stuff, hopefully I see them live next year 🖤

I hope someday they all bury the Hatchet and reunite with both Tarja and Annette Olzon for at least a tour. Helloween did this with 2 former members, Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske, there were very hard feelings for 30 years between these guys and the founder, Michael Weikath, but they got over it (matured, aged) and reunited for a hugely successful world tour in 2017/2018 and were due to release a new album and go on the road when this scourge hit us. Helloween fans were overjoyed and Nightwish fans would be, too! Imagine how epic it would be to see all 3 singing their standards and joining together to sing!

Most of the grannies I know wouldn`t ever sign up for even trying metal, bc it`s too heavy, from satan, noise, etc..and that`s ok too, everyone has an opinion.
But I mean…I`m basically almost speechless when someone is saying something so smart and open-minded.
I honestly don`t even care whether you like NW or not. Or Metal. I just like genuine persons with ”learned” through life-experience wisdom.

One of my favorite songs.
I first stumbled on them when I listened to an internet metal radio station back in 2012 and a DJ had a show called "The Mavens of Metal". She played Ghost Love Score and I was hooked. But the DJ played many more tunes by Nightwish including this song. They are hands down my favorite band. I've seen them twice, in 2016 and 2018 in San Jose, California. I took my wife and daughter to both shows and they are fans too.

It's one of their best performances and the song is about evolution. It's a long song, clocking in at 24mins but worth it - also for the Tampere performance it's worth waiting til the very end of the credits so you don't miss anything!

I see someone suggesting a Finnish Bands Week - how about a Nightwish Former/Other Projects Week? For Tuomas, there's his solo album Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge as well as his other band Auri with his wife Johanna Kurkela and fellow NW member Troy. And then Troy used to be in a band called Iona, which played fun Celtic goodness. Emppu was in a band called Brother Firetribe, while Kai is in Wintersun. Floor's former bands include After Forever and ReVamp, then there's also all of her Beste Zangers performances plus her project Northward. (And her just-released cover of Let It Go from Disney's Frozen, by special request from her daughter Freja!) And Marko fronted the band Tarot starting back in the early 1980s, plus he's in a group called Northern Kings as well as in the All-Hietala Power Trio (with his brother Zachary who's also in Tarot and his son Miro) and he recently released a solo album, Pyre of the Black Heart, which he did two versions, Finnish and English. So you've got a lot to choose from!

Hi Ladies I found them last summer and now I subscribed to Floor's You Tube channel . Marco will be 55 in January. I didn't listen to much heavy metal. I like what you said about DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER.Floor is so down to earth she picks up horse poop from the field or help make a paddock for her two girls. On her RUclips channel she has two things and they are called Story time and Floor finds1st is about her and the 2nd is she talks to other people on topics.FYI her husband Hannes is the drummer for Sabaton from Sweden they play real life war stories and hearts and the have their own history channel. You should check out Beste Zangers. I watched somebody reacting to Ghost Love Score. Now I'm into Tarja Turunen the first Nightwish's singer doing classical songs and her solo career.

Ladies next up for you if you liked this is Ghost River from the same Wacken concert. Another great duet with Floor and Marco with a real creepy but heavy sound to really enjoy. Great reaction and I couldn't agree with you more that people need to open up but not merely us AARP members (of which I am) but even younger listeners who seem to have no more than a 3 minute attention span and don't really appreciate the musicianship of these bands. I am always amazed how often when I wear a band Tee shirt I am asked by younger people who they are (Nightwish, Lovebites, Band Maid, Sabaton, etc..). Just a shame this great music is available but not taken up by so many people especially here in the States where it is a wasteland with commercial radio dribble.
