Nice place. I spent a good part of 2012 and 2013 working in that refinery. I spent a whole day riding and looking in there. I saw lot of antelope and mule deer. They weren’t near as skittish as our southern whitetail. Don’t know if you went into Rawlins, but the cemetery is full of big mule deer and antelope. You can drive within 10 feet of them.

First where you want to go and why(scenery, place you might want to scout for a hunt one day. How much you are wanting to spend will determine how far and long you can stay. As to what I am looking for is type of habit in an area. Access a public place might have a lot or a little. Sometimes hard to access places are the best to hunt.
Very Nice area, Used to visit my uncle in Rawlins every year and we would fish Seminoe! Lots of Trout and Walleye! Big carp back by the dam aswell.

I guide elk hunters in that country… some big bulls out there and a lot of elk.
