I just bought one and tested it for a week. My primary focus is property line security as we have neighbors who like to trespass. After a week, I am impressed with the camera. Simplicity and video clarity are excellent. The motion sensor detection range is better than my previous low cost trail cams but nowhere the 90 feet that was advertised. It seems more like 35 feet to 50 feet. Overall for the price it's a very good camera.
I think some of the cameras have an option for photo+video or photo or video only and the reason you saw the photo and only the video at the tail end is because it takes the photo first and then starts the video afterward. If you set it for video only, you would probably see it at the point where you saw the photo. I'm thinking about setting my non-cell cameras to video only because the still shots seem to be worthless most of the time and you can always get stills from the video anyhow.
Hey Michael! Interesting points. Yes, they definitely snap the photos first before starting the video recording. If you end up testing that out, let me know how you make out! 👍🏻
I set mine up for three weeks and had 1800, 25 second day (and 12 second, night) video clips. It was about 70/30 clips of nothing (moving vegetation even on a windless day) and wildlife. It did not pick me up when I walked through the area of my contractors that I hired. I had the motion sensor set to max sensitivity so I will try a lower setting and see how that works.
Great video and review, I want to monitor mouse and or rat movement under my house. Would it pick up animals that small and it near pitch dark? Oh, and is it truly no glow as advertised?
Hey James, thanks for checking out my channel! It should pick up small rodent movement, it just depends on the distance they are from the camera. It would pick up squirrels from time to time while I was using it. Yes, it is no glow if I remember correctly. Best of luck!
Hi great video and well informative, ive just purchased a gardepro a3s and have set it up with motion only and on medium sensitivity and 1080p and no time lapse etc etc, it isn't set on any time frame and only set as i said motion only, i put in brand new Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries (re chargeable) and put it up, it recorded perfect in the day and was very impressed but didn't record anything at night even when i walked passes it etc etc. I have googled and youtubed everything you can imagine and found out that the rechargeable batteries are not recommended so have changed them to the same energizer ultra lithium non rechargeable ones and still not recording at night even the red led isn't coming on when all set up and it says waiting for motion to activate, please can you help 👍
Hey Dean! Ah man… these cheaper Amazon cameras can be quirky. Sometimes you get a dud. I’d see if you can exchange it for a new one if possible. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Hi there, was just about to buy one of these for fishing so i can record myself at night, I wanted to know how long it records for you said 5 mins, would it start recording again after that for another 5, appreciate any info cheers!
Hey Cloud 9! Thanks for checking out my channel! The max recording is 5 minutes. It would start recording again once there is movement that will trigger the motion sensor. You will want to make sure the delay settings are set low so it triggers again quickly. Recording in this way will burn through the batteries and SD card pretty quickly in my opinion. I’m wondering if there might be a better option for your application. GoPro doesn’t have a great nighttime mode, but maybe there is some knockoff or something else that does. Best of luck👍🏻
Actually, the more I think about it, you might want to check out Tactacam's fishing solutions. I'm not sure what type of night shooting modes they offer, but they make some great quality stuff (I really like their cellular trail cameras) www.tactacam.com/shop/tactacam-fish-i/
I have got my camera trained on my bird table, it picks up me walking near it, it doesn't pick up the wood Pidgeon or doves, it does pick up cats, any suggestions please
Hey man so I just bought this camera and had high hopes for it and set it out on a corn feeder for 3 weeks and only got the video from right after I turned it on and a video of 1 coon 2 weeks later then the video when I turned it off. Do you have any idea what the problem could be because I know there’s been a lot of animals on that feeder every day. Had good, new batteries in it and everything but did not format the sad card which might be the issue. I’m using a 32G sandisk
Hey Jon! Thanks for checking out my channel! Yeah, I would start with formatting the SD card. Also check the sensitivity and if I remember correctly, this camera might have an option for the side sensors that you might want to activate. Best of luck this season 👍🏻
Hi, Hope you are well. I am about to buy a memory card for GardePro A3,but l don't know much about memory cards and l need help to decide which one to get it, which one is the best? 1. SanDisk Extreme 64GB SDXC Memory Card up to 90MB/s, Class 10, U3, V30 2. SanDisk Extreme 64GB SDXC Memory Card up to 150MB/s, Class 10, U3, V30 3. SanDisk Extreme SDXC Memory Card, Up to 150 MB/s, Class 10, U3, V30, 128 GB Kind regards..
Hey Just Me! SanDisk Extreme is a very good quality card. Any of those three will work just fine in the A3. Just be sure to not go any higher than 128 GB as that is the max capacity for this camera. If you are planning on using videos along with the photos (I always like to get videos as well. Much more information this way) you might want to think about maxing out at 128 GB for extra storage. Best of luck this season 👍🏻
I have this camera and it worked great to begin with but stopped recording video at night. It also doesn’t record sound at all any longer. I feel like it’s possibly my settings, however, I’m pretty tech savvy and have gone through all the settings numerous times… does anyone know if these features stop working if lower on battery or if specific settings are selected?
Hey Joshua! Thanks for checking out my channel! Have you tried testing it at night (walking past a few times)? As you mentioned, maybe the sensitivity/IR settings would have an impact, but you’ve already checked all of that.
@@mountainbuck Since then, I've actually figured out that it was the batteries. Even though I had about half battery power, it apparently wasn't enough to run the IR at night where more power is needed. Thank you for the reply!
Hey Racker, thanks for checking out my channel! Haha yeah it’s listed at 0.1 seconds, but from my test is looks more like .5-.6 range. Best of luck this season 👍🏻
I have owned 2 of these A3 trail cameras in the last two years and I wonder if anyone else has come across this problem: drive.google.com/file/d/1F6Uvc981ICD0STcvqveHNz5UstXVA9TT/view?usp=sharing

I'd pick #2 over the #1, because I don't like messing with micro SD cards. Thanks for your review!
Hey thanks Driftless Hunter! I totally agree… those micro SD cards are so small, I’m afraid I’ll either lose them or break them.
Yep... with ya there. The micros are too small to deal with in the woods. Especially when cold!!!!
I’ve had the best results with the gardepro a3 trail cameras.
Thanks for the input Trail Cameras in New England! 👍🏻

@@mountainbuck OK thanks, it's only 2 weeks old I'll send it back and try again 😬
Do we leave it on the set mold, or on the on mode when it will start recording on its own
You should set it to “On” when you want the trail camera to take photos and videos.

Thanks for quick reply.
I confused with
"150 MB/s" and "90 MB/s"
Should I buy
128GB 150 MB/s
or
128GB 90MB/s?
@@JustMe-yy7uc that has to do with write speed. The 150 MB will be faster, so if it isn’t a lot more expensive, I’d go with that one. 👍🏻
