one thing to keep in mind when comparing. if you are testing the cams beside each other, the night images/vids will not be accurate, as each is then affected by the other's flash. i have a spypoint that is completely useless for night quality. complete garbage. i did a test in the off-season with my cams in the backyard. suddenly, the spypoint had phenomenal night videos. some of the best i've ever seen. it just didn't make sense. i was thinking that somehow it had fixed itself or something. then i realized why. it was sitting with other cams, and their flash was illuminating the area for it.
Hey breathe and squeeze! Excellent point! I sometimes have a blink camera setup and I can always see the IR flashes from trail cams. I definitely take this into consideration. Thanks for the heads up and best of luck this season 👍🏻
Thanks for this! I put my trail camera up for the first time in years just yesterday. Walked through chest-high vegetation for probably 20 minutes to get to the spot I wanted to set it up at and ended up finding out that one single AA battery fell out of my bag on the way to the spot. Had to go all the way back to the vehicle to get a replacement battery and then went back to the trail cam spot but I actually found the lost battery on the way there somehow. Good times lol! Thank god for permethrin. I’d probably have a hundred ticks on me if it wasn’t for that stuff.
Hey Prepper POV! Ugh that’s brutal! I hate it when I forget something or lose something like that and have to hike all the way back. It sounds like you are getting pretty deep in the woods! I also really hate ticks! They are the worst!
The vikeri I bought Sunday and used on Monday and checked today on Tuesday and the buttons are all jacked up. Just because the cheap buttons are labeled doesn't mean that it won't do functions of the other buttons. My down and up buttons will also function as the menu button and ok button. Junk. Sending it back.
Yup, my buttons deteriorate after the first use. At first, Certain buttons triggered other buttons (down arrow means "ok" now). It completely unusable after 4 days of use. Luckily I'm within 30 day return window.
Ty for your videos! To the point, slapstick and final review. Please help me with the precise settings for my Vikeri. I bought it for a family member who’s yard is vulnerable to local thieves and such. She said she caught someone but it was too low. She’s elderly and ready to report these a- holes. Medium res for video ? Medium res for Photos? And lastly what time setting. 30 seconds then what ? Ty so much, I’m a new Sub! It’s hard for me to explain because we can only talk on the landline 📞 - seriously do
Heys beansrgd! Thanks so much for subscribing! I really appreciate it! Did she mean too low on the tree or that the image quality was too low? If you are using this for thieves, I would probably set the photo resolution to its highest and extend the video length a bit. When I have this setup for watching deer, I’ll do shorter clips as they move in and out, but for catching people, I would think you’d want as much info as possible to see what they are up to (you’d also want as clear an image as possible in order to identify the suspects). Maybe try recording for 1-2 minutes at a time and see if that helps. Best of luck! I hope you get good footage! 👍🏻
Can you tell me the max video length of these two cameras? I probably go with the gardpro based on the full size SD, the use of micros in large devices like this shits me to tears.
Customer reviews on Amazon have a lot of 4, and five stars for both cameras.. But they both have anywhere from 12 % 1 to 2 stars, Vikeri had 20% of 1to 2 stars.
Have you actually observed these in the dark taking pictures. So many cameras say they are no/or black flash. But when you actually check them they are quite bright taking the pics. the deer where i hunt are super sensitive to flash. THX
Hey joenicmck! Yes, in my newer trail cam videos I show what the infrared looks like at night when taking photos and videos. I’m actually working on a video now that includes these two cameras and will be showing the nighttime red lights. Both of these cameras do emit a subtle red flash at night. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
This is weird! Have been feeding a cat in my barn for over six month. It shows up every night. my wife wanted to see the cat eating, so I set up the Model 4K in the barn. That night the cat did not show up!!! TO the point, every time I put the camera in the barn the cat DOES NOT SHOW UP !!!! No camera, the cat eats the food! What is going on, does the camera put out some frequency that keeps cats or animals away? Can we use the camera to keep varmits away?
I would think the cat would come in no problem. If you saw it on camera running from the infrared flash, then you would know it’s the camera spooking it. Have you tried putting it on photo + video mode? I do this for all of my trail cams when possible to see more of what’s going on.
Hey Bobby! Honestly the audio didn’t work for me on the Vikeri. I’m not having audio trouble on the new 4K vikeri I just tested however. It may have just been that one camera. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
@@mountainbuck I keep 26 or so cameras going all year long , it’s a hobby , not for hunting, when I get a cam that does not have loud audio I send it back , I have found that I actually learn as much or more from audio, I feed deer 365 days a year , I also learned the Austrian winter peas is by far the best thing to plant.
