After being bullied as a teenager, Tom defied his physical limitations and fears to revolutionize his physique and influence the world of bodybuilding. Watch as we explore how a shift in environment and mentorship at an Olympic lifting gym in Detroit propelled Tom from reluctance to record-breaking leg gains, inspiring a whole generation of athletes to embrace squats.
Bro's quads have a sixpack
🤣🤣🤣
More like ♾️packs
😂😂😂
Lol
Damn! 😂
I'm starting to believe that all great bodybuilders are product of bullies from their childhood. 😅
Look at age 15 and you'll see the real reason he was bullied.
His very tiny manhood!
Guys in gym are brutal!! 😮
@@tomvalveede6808he joined after getting bullied
I agree, childhood insecurities appears to motivate these people. It's kind of sad. I didn't give a rat's ass what people thought about me, and I am fine.
Sometimes a negative experience can forge a determination within someone to conquer that negativity

The Quadfather #1
Now every bodybuilder has massive legs because of him
@@aguillot1984yeah what's funny is MOST guys in the gyms around the country back then thought he looked RIDICULOUS and not in a good way ,because his legs were WAY out of proportion. But Because he was a FREAK he sold magazines though and that got him judges votes made him successful and that's when everyone else started.

He did whatever it took to be the best
Including a competent steroid program

His back is completely upright during squats. His form looks fluid and effortless 😳
Others can learn a lot from him
Boy those roids do wonders
But... Indeed inspirational
Seems to come up off the heel a bit too
Seems to come up off the heel too, probably why he avoided the waste thickening aspect. That's a very very quad dominant natural squat
If thats skinny legs. Than my legs are a needle😢
those legs are as sized as mine but considering how big his arms were they were indeed skinny
Mine are atom size
then train your legs 😅

Hats off to Tom. He’s definitely in the pantheon of most influential bodybuilders ever. He put legs day on the calendar without compromising “Brain Day” first.
He didn’t have tiny legs lol. He worked on his upper body and neglected his lower body… hello!
Err.. yea, and that led to him having tiny legs.
Easily the best legs in bodybuilding history. They were FREEEAAAAKKKY! 😮
Because of a competent steroid protocol , his physic isn’t possible without the use of anabolic steroids
Every sprinter is using steroids too, even playing field.

So being bulled is one key to motivational success.
How un PC
honestly depends on the person, others thrive on positive reinforcements, others thrive on the negative reinforcements
That sounds like something a bully would say after he’s made to eat shit.
How does it taste?

He injured his lower back during birth
It's just a misleading title

The Golden Eagle.
A true gentleman.
Nobody ever talks about how inspirational bullies can be.
He never had skinny legs. He just thought he had. People said nice legs. But he thought people said they are skinny.
Tom Platz is a true legend!
LEGENDARY BODYBUILDER
I met him on his UK tour many many years ago. As nice a guy as you would ever meet.
MMA Legend GSP also acquired his Goat status after being Bullied at his younger ages
I also have congenital lower back issues. Started my futness journey at 28. Hoping to build up my broken body
Hope you reach ur futness golez
Try the safer single leg squat/deadlift variations:
Bulgarian split squats, single leg Romanian deadlifts, forward/backwards/walking lunges. You use a lot less weight and protect the back, but can still get huge leg activation.
I blew out a knee just watching this.
then you've clearly never squatted. squats don't blow out knees, people that avoid strengthening their joints blow out their knees
😂
The Golden Eagle is amazing and should have won a Olympia
Olympia was mostly political during the early days.
He got close, he came in 3rd place in 1981, if I remember correctly. Some say he was robbed and should have placed higher.
Remember when his bicep injury occurred and his bicep rolled up from a softball size to golf ball size?
Rolled up like a window shade.

30 inches bro?..
People say it's just bullying and just insecurity which Is true, but the bullies aren't always thinking or verbally irritating. Changes are from physical bullying too. Sucks to be beat, so you got to train to beat the beater.

Light weight with heavy reps makes muscle bigger?
Just go as hard as you can and you will grow, and of course make sure you get enough rest and protein. All that optimal rep range shit isn't nearly as important as people make it out to be.
Tom's legs are very impressive he made his legs really cool looking, David Tua did great at making his legs look cool, Manny pacquio did great as well, and Mike Tyson did well at making his legs cool looking
I like strong legs but hate the chafing when I get huge.. Does anyone just go heavy on endurance w lighter weight?
Chicken legs are tastier.
The king of exercise
Basically once he found the good steroids nothing was hard ever again.
It’s pathetic whenever a steroid user says “I still have to work hard bro” no you don’t bro. Building muscle as a natural is insanely difficult & painful even with good genetics. You can build muscle without even train with steroids…
@@Mutant_Mods you do still have to hit the gym everyday otherwise it will just make you fat, but yes its obviously easier to see progress with the use of steroids
People who work out hard and are natural usually say that steroids doesn’t work magic without significant hard work.
