- Prior to the start of the 2004-2005 season, Miami Heat center Shaquille O'Neal sat down with TNT's John Thompson to discuss a range of topics, focused primarily on his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers the season prior. O'Neal spent eight seasons in Los Angeles, winning three NBA championships, before being traded to the Heat following the Lakers' 2004 Finals loss to the Detroit Pistons. O'Neal would go on to win his fourth NBA title in 2006.
R.I.P John Thompson
I still remember his interview with KG. He was such a good interviewer
It’s interesting watching this after years later Shaq repeatedly says he and Kobe never had a problem back then. He switches up his story every single time it’s ridiculous
Because he's a fucking selfish, self-serving asshole who will lie at the drop of a hat. He's a piece of shit on and off the court. O'Neal thinks it's funny and his dumbass, ignorant fans enable him by laughing and clapping at everything he says and does.
@Drink Me Spoken like an ignorant, assuming twat who, mistakenly, thinks I'm a fan of Kobe Bryant.
@@bubufubu damn bro you really dont like shaq at all do you?
@@KingNez89 Correct. Outside his family, nobody should.
bubufubu it’s sports bro relax lmaoooo
Shaq saying he wasn't outta shape is mad funny.
Ppl who werent around at the time dont realize their relationship completely changed over the years. Complete 180. It went from them not being able to be in the same room with one another, to kobe being able to be interviewed by shaq. It took years but the relationship had to be repaired first.
They always had shaq listed at like 325 on the Lakers lol. But he was obviously a lot bigger and was around 350 to 360. He just confirmed it. He said when I was 345, 355, 365 I was still putting up 28 points. In his mvp season he was in great shape but from his mass he was still at least 340.
Orlando really fumbled the ball with Shaq..
Yea but he went to a better franchise and won so it worked it for him
And the Lakers 🤷🏽♂️
Heat and lakers got 4 rings out of them his *32* and *34* jerseys retired there too!😂
Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder is a quartet that compete ferociously for draft picks only to waste primes and stifle potential by pairing overpaid role players with their would-be franchise superstars as they approach their later years.
Not really he never would have won nothing if Phil Jackson hadn't came to LA to coach him and that's a fact
MY All Time Favorite NBA Player
RIP John
In the back of my mind, I believe Shaq does think a lot about if he could have played out his career staying with the Lakers and have the same Laker lore and legend like West, Magic, Kareem, Wilt. I'm sure he has no regrets about how it turned out and sure he has more money he can spend in a hundred lifetimes but it still probably was his vision when he signed in '96 and never again wearing that dream-of-every-kid's uniform has to still linger within him at least a bit.
LOL. I think the complete opposite. I think Shaq only cared about winning in Miami to shut Kobe up. To show him he was the better player between the two which he obv was. Kobe was selfish. Shaq didnt deserve the shade
@@florida1289 At that time, Kobe was a better player than Shaq.
Shaq got fat and little lazy despite what he says here.
We Lakers fans remember how he didn’t have surgery on his toe after the 2002 NBA Finals, instead he had the surgery in the beginning of the 2002-2003 season missing many games cause he said it he got hurt on company time, so he had the surgery on company time and the Lakers got off to a bad start under.500
The Lakers didn’t get home court advantage and lost to the Spurs in the 2003 playoffs.
Kobe gained muscle after the 2002 NBA Finals.
Shaq was the selfish and lazy.
@@josecarranza7555 Selfish and Lazy but won 3 finals MVPs during the 3peat. Let me guess, you’re another delusional Kobetard who thought Kobe carried Shaq throughout the entire 3peat.
@@florida1289 They’re both ego freaks. Can’t stand to see other people shine just like their counterparts (Michael).
@@josecarranza7555 we Lakers fans remember Shaq being hurt in the playoffs and still played yet Kobe fanboys 🌈 don't remember that or how teams had players jumping on his back. Or how Kobe played for Kobe in the finals yet his fagboys 🌈 also pretend that didn't happen
Pls upload the “i dont wanna say nothing

4:39 no center will boast himself as Shaq did
And is as sensitive
he boasted but he put himself at #5 when he's probably Top 2

On Shaq’s mind, he’s saying to himself it’s Georgetown and their centers’ dumb running jump hook
Imagine guys like Shaq "Mr. Sensitive" O'Neal and Charles "Sir Chuckles" Barkley with Kobe's work ethic and in shape every season throughout their entire careers...MY GOD!!!!!
The late John Thompson. Rip 🙏

Best center of all time
Were you born in 1930? Have you been going to NBA games since 1947? Tell us all how many times you saw Mikan, Russell, Chamberlain, and Alcindor play, live? O'Neal isn't even the best Center of the 90's.
@@bubufubu Not the best but a top 5 center of all time. Also how many black guys had Mikan played against?
@@hitman321100 "top 5 center of all time" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@bubufubu The only ones you can say is better is Kareem, Wilt, Russell and Hakeem.

That's John Thompson he used to be the college basketball coach for Georgetown
@@dsrgreen29 think he’s kiddin bruh
Lmao Shaq is stupid really “muscle weighs more than fat” he says haha
hey shaq! youre my idol!
I love Shaq. I rank him over Kobe but in 2003-2004, he’s looking for an extension and going about it in an unprofessional way like wasting a whole summer with a bad toe and waiting until right before training camp to get surgery. Then there was a time when he dunked on someone and he yelled out at Buss in the stands to pay him. He wasn’t exactly acting like a leader
2:11 ya'll drank water in the club..right🤔
Was Shaq the first player to take 3 teams to the NBA Finals?
Wilt Chamberlain went to the Finals with the Warriors, 76ers and Lakers
@@TheCaptainAidan good point 👍🏽
@@TheCaptainAidan didn’t win with all 3 tho
@@joshuafult84 Wasn't the question. The question was Finals appearances, not victories. Shaq didn't win with 3 different teams either
Shaq went to the finals with the Lakers, Heat, and who else?
If only shaq stayed they would have won at least 6 championships
Shaq was the problem the whole time with the Lakers
People gotta realize that if shaq stayed Kobe would have left. Probably would have went to the mavs lol
Shaq not caring about how people feel about him or talking about someone being humble? That's funny......this dude and KD are the most sensitive legends ever!

Well, it's now:
