Very informative thank you very much I am learning how to do this I'm on my dad's profile he is passed away with Mama in the spirit world. This is Mama Z y'all did a great job thank you so much I want my grandkids to do this and I want to show I used to show dogs help out with it and stand strip but this might be a little easier now that I'm getting older
Hi I would just like to address a problem. I am very sorry if I am wrong but you’re holding the bunny by its ears is will hurt the blood vains. From what I heard. Again sorry if I am wrong.
Ah .... we JUST got a Himalayan and I believe the Himie is a cylindrical type and therefore is posed differently than our mini Rex BUT thanks for this video! The girls are getting ready for 4H showman ship and all the videos really help!
HI. I'm from Az and we show rabbits different. It's cool to see other ways to show a rabbit. I've won many times at the shows and at fair for poultry. Btw this is my first year in rabbit. If you don't know a question just say I'm sorry i do no know the answer but I research and find out and will get back to you later. Just don't say it mean it. It means a lot to the judge when you go back and tell your findings. If you don't you will get a reputation. Nice video
Please never do this to your rabbit, it's not cute. It's called tonic Immobility and it absolutely terrifies the rabbit and can lead to heart issues and even death
Nice video I've been showing rabbits forever it's not called bugs when your looking at the eyes it's for blindness or cloudyness and the fur you check for ear mites also the ears you have to check for tips ams tears also every rabbit has a different positions wasn't trying to be mean just some tips
Lps Casey I'm new to this, my church did an Easter thing and I has my rabbit on a leash and she loved how calm he was and wanted to put him in show. he's my baby and I haven't trained him to show, but my one concern is how she carried him to the stand. He is a huge french lop and I prefer holding him a certain way. will points be taken out if I carry him the way I want
Erin Bobb when that happens be very professional. Say you are unaware of the answer at the moment, but you'll be happy to research the question after you are finished with showmanship.
I'm From Kansas and we show rabbits differently, but it helped me alittle on steps wise.... I highly recommend this channel except y'all don't have any more videos that's kinda sad please make it funny also it would of been nice watching nice video
My kids show in Kansas too. Last fair season they got docked points for not checking the nails of their rabbit. I think next year we're going to follow this routine instead of the one that we've been taught.
Putting a rabbit on its back makes it go into shock. The rabbits heartbeat increases amd can make it have a heart attack. Its not calm its a defense mechanism to "play dead". If you do this to your rabbit you are cruel
@@rylynneproctor7614 actually its really bad but 4h and rabbit shows dont care about the rabbits health. Theres studies to show it increases their heart rate and can stun them. This is why pet rabbit owners are so against 4h and breeder shows..
@@rylynneproctor7614 rabbits being used for food is fine but they should be cared for properly up until then. You treat the animal with respect even if its going to die later
This video was helpful because I just went to a big ARBA convention and I did showmanship like usual and I was not having a good day and neither was my rabbit and I only scored 54 out of 100😬
Hi! Thank you! This is a compact rabbit so it is desired to show your rabbit in the compact form. You may be confusing the Californian rabbit for the Himalayan rabbit. The Himalayan you do show flat because it's a cylindrical rabbit. Thank you again!
Well I've showned at a huge fair and you want to put them in football postition you want to try to put there eyes Paws under your arm to calm them you can put your hand on its ears but this video did help me a lot so thanks so much if you have anymore questions or is confused let me know like I said I'm a holland lop breeder so any questions I can answer
It is not healthy nor is it natural to make the back foot up by the front foot and you also do NOT hold a rabbit like that. Im srry but i DO NOT recommend this video and I as a rabbit lover feel bad for the rabbit.
Same, everybody in the comments is using the same technique which makes me feel so sad. Just think of all the bunnies getting treated like this. Showed this video to a vet with over 30 years of experience and she said it was animal abuse and cruelty. It's not the 1980s' can we begin to treat bunnies like they should be treated?
this made me so upset, I saved my bunny from my school's ffa so it wouldn't be slaughtered. animals have feelings too and this bunny obviously would much rather be running free than being smushed up into a ball. like literally how would you like it if someone smashed you into a ball. and then you said to hold them by their ears?????? and then flip them over???? like literally this is not okay, this poor poor poor bunny!!!! like literally you aren't even supposed to go near their genitals because it makes them nervous, and im surprised you didn't give this bunny a damn heart attack!!! there are so many things wrong with ffa programs and showing animals and the meat packaging industry. literally im DISGUSTED!
Melissa Melton yes I do know that but it still doesn't make it right. animals have feelings because they are living beings and how would you feel if someone was smashing your cat or dog like that? im pretty sure nobody would like that!! the point is is that people in these programs need to be more nice to the animals that they are raising. if your gonna murder and slaughter them in a couple months after getting them you should make their lives the best you possibly can. not saying that slaughtering rabbits is in any way shape or form right.
@@loganfuchs9385 ohh ok I see your point yes some are pretty rough with the animals ..my daughter is in FFA here and they are not mean to theses animal in fact my daughters rabbit lived in our house as well will the two she is getting
Stop picking on these poor girls. They are showing these rabbits and petting, loving on them. Obviously not holding them mean , at no point did the rabbit squiggle or jump around, it is loving the attention so many pet owners do not give at all. Great job girls keep up the good work and ignore comments of some people. They don't like what we do don't go to a show or fair...
Just because you’re in 4H does not mean you have the supernatural ability to stare at a RUclips video into a rabbits genetics... I think she knows what breed her own rabbit is.
That is not how you treat a rabbit, he/she was clearly terrified of you. You should not have rabbits in your care, they are not made to pose. They are rabbits, animals who deserve the right to be free and make their own decisions and judgement. I have a Californian rabbit - who is the sweetest and kindest thing ever who feels safe. I also adopted an ex-show rabbit who is petrified and scared about everything. Remembering the horror he went through without a choice. After 6 years of love, living indoors in the warm safe environment he is still scarred. Especially tipping a rabbit upside down is wrong - he/she looked stunned as they think you are a threat and are going to kill them. They are prey animals and like all 4 feet on the ground. It doesn't want to be forced into positions with your hands all over it. Unfortunately it can't speak, but I hope they somehow tell you. I don't like disliking videos of cute bunnies such as this one but they shouldn't be used for your please (it doesn't care if it wins or loses) it is you who cares. Think about other people including rabbits who are also living beings with feelings.
I'm glad I saved my Shaq from this cruelty for fun to others. They are prey that means they get really scared and can die of a heart attack. He was sweet but scared of any noise and really afraid of being picked up and now I see why. He is in panic that why they don't move.. Don't bother to reply.

This is all fairly good, but not all rabbits are posed squished up. And the back legs are not all the way up to the front.
Warrior Cat not all rabbits are posed like this, but compact breed are posed with their knees touching their elbows.
Warrior Cat its called the compact pose
Ya I did a hymie and I won
Tip for ears:
Right ear might have a tattoo ONLY for registered Rabbits in ARBA.
Today is my first show. I hope the judges do this

@Haven Laird oh haha, completely forgot I commented this. I've definitely improved since.
Does your rabbit have to be a purebred and does it have to have a tatto?
I HAVE MY RABBIT SHOW LITERALLY TODAY AND MY TEACHER JUST GAVE ME A PDF AND DIDNT ACTUALLY SHOW ME HOW TO DO IT IM SCARED

Squish= pose

I just learned something new thank you
Where are you guys from?
does the handler do all this or does the judge?
well where we are from the Handler does all of this :)
Way different in Illinois, judge does everything
Kaylynn Renee In my chapter it's the same way. The judge tells you to do something and then you do it.
Kaylynn Renee i think this is showmanship it's same in ohio judge does everything
this will be very helpful with my rabbit showing this year, Thank you FFA girls...
That's a nice Californian rabbit
My fair is fixed. The same family always wins because they buy their animals from certain people. It sucks
amsr time that's not fixed, they must obviously have better animals.
I’m not hating but be EXTREMELY careful not to over pose or in your case squish your rabbit! This is very dangerous!
Roxy Miller not really
Roxy Miller ikr poor thing was terrified
Marble will never let me do this ...show is tomarrow
You’re posing a little incorrectly. Front feet in line with the eye and back feet in line with the front of the bend of the back leg not front.
