Performing this for my last Theater involved anything in highschool, makes me wish I had been in it from the start but this song is just opening a new door for me because without it I would have never learned of my ability to sing. Thank you for this upload

Wow! I didn't realize this was in the key of A! I needed the song in a mezzo or contralto key, because the character I am auditioning for was written for mezzo! NOW I am convinced! If I sing this down in Hugh Jackman's octave, it will lie primarily in chest voice and middle voice! I really think this was meant to be!

Hmmm. This is a beautiful version of the song! I am looking for a piece of music that really shows a mother's heart. Granted, Valjean isn't Marius's mother. But, the sentiment of wanting what is best for someone, even if it costs you your life, is very much what a mother might go through, prior to giving birth. And musically, it is lovely! I think I have just found my piece of music for an audition I have coming up! Thanks so much for posting this!

I love singing this. I do have to go from chest voice to falsetto and back but that makes it even more interesting.
