2:40 KSP crashes Scott Manley. But seriously, you're really good at freezing like that lol; I genuinely wondered for a second if the video was just buffering.
Somehow I think they would build something more reasonable and then assemble it in space. (I say this, but bureaucracy increases exponentially as budget goes up)
Crunchy peanut butter on a toasted English muffin.. yummm. Bread could be totally useful for the spacecraft! Just make it into carbon foam tiles and coat the craft for thermal protection :) .
Scott, you ought to know as well as anyone that these kind of enormous pancake-rockets are obscene. If you want a really big rocket, Tweakscale will allow you to create some truly enormous engines. And the Sea Dragon mod gives you some huge engines without needing to re-scale anything. Either one will allow you to create a much more realistic rocket that is far taller than it is wide- and therefore more aerodynamic... And with bigger engines (and some Procedural Parts fuel tanks) you can do it without the ridiculous part-count...
When you speak of transparent gold vinyl, it puts me in mind of Ultem which is very much a transparent gold plastic but you usually see it in passenger planes as the plastic that surrounds you and they usually put beige color in it so it is unremarkable. . One of its properties is that it will smolder if you hold a blow torch on it but immediately upon removing the flame, it extinguishes with little smoke.
What are the specifics of the challenge? Couldn't Scott build a rocket with a huge mast sticking out of it and do a really close flyby of the Mun? The mast would touch the ground and he would be able to have a sub 1 hour run.
I loved Scott's last comment, "flat-earthers, bunch of rubbish, guys are morons"...beautifully put Scott, those fools couldn't find their own arses with both hands.
In Japan they have something called peanut cream which is nothing like peanut butter. Completely different texture. I didn't really care for it but Scott might like it.
When I first got the game I started a sandbox world and tried the same thing to get to the mun. That was November 2019 and today I did a 2 stage direct ascent manned rocket to Dres and back for around 150000 funds in career with 11m of delta v to spare
While you make this huge craft and take 3 years to make it I make a kinda big ship with 9 parts that can go to another planet or go to the mun or minmus and come back. Edit: also if people are wondering I used the following parts (in order) the white mk1 parachute a mk1 command pod a half the very long 1.25 fuel tank the smaller swivel engine that doesn't have a converter the 1.25 decoupler the rockomax no fuel adapter you find in the tab with all the struts and stuff and a half the orange tank rockomax fuel tank and the rockomax varient of the swivel rocket. Sorry I can't remember the names i'll edit this comment to add the names later.
having seen you talk about getting your time to the mun and back down last week i had figured we might get some video about that but scott, scott what are you doing here.
I really enjoy your series videos. It's been two years since you last did the Career mode series and there's been a lot of changes since then. Any chance on doing a new one instead of these one off videos? Maybe with a different solar system mod? Thanks Scott!
Has he not been continuing the "Galileo Conquest" series? I haven't actually watched those yet, but I could've sworn I'd seen new videos pop up from that series every week or so.
"As a british person thats not something i would like" TRY IT SCOTT! Just load up on more Jam than Peanut Butter. as a Kiwi i LOVE! a Peanut butter (smooth) and Raspberry Jam sandwich.
If you don't like peanut butter, maybe an almond butter or sun-butter (sunflower seed butter) would be more to your liking, Scott. I know almond butter isn't as sticky as peanut butter, and I've heard the same about sunbutter but I've never tried it (that stuff is expensive, comparatively, and I don't have the kitchen equipment to make my own).
ahh yes, when you add boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters and, you guessed it, boosters.
the kerbal eye can't see more than 30 seconds per frame anyway
lol
Ah a pittsburgher I see.
xd
You can tell it's a successful mission when your rocket explodes at T+ 0 seconds.
ikr
2:40 KSP crashes Scott Manley.
But seriously, you're really good at freezing like that lol; I genuinely wondered for a second if the video was just buffering.
Exactly! Even when I heard the clamps releasing with the still frame, I still thought it was frozen until I remembered I wasn't playing.
The kraken has something to do with all this, I'm sure of it.
KSP apparently stands for Kerbal Space Powerpoint
At a stunning 30 seconds per frame.
I didn't know he was playing the console ports!
It's the cinematic experience.
I believe we got a small insight into Mr Manley's search history, BBW lol.
Bwahahaha ! oh yeah..
at least it wasn't BBC lol
The most expensive bonfire ever.
As long as it lets you refill your estus, it's still worth it.
Gives me conniptions
That BBW moment made me laugh so hard
Lol I'm positive you aren't alone.
If NASA had the budget of the us army 😂
Michal And a launch site the size New York...
MadCourier 6 and during launch there would be huge speakers playing “america, fuck yeah...” xD
MadCourier 6 and the exhaust of the engines would be somehow painted to the colors of the us flag. xDD
Somehow I think they would build something more reasonable and then assemble it in space. (I say this, but bureaucracy increases exponentially as budget goes up)
gajbooks probably yeah 😂
God damnit you got me with the video, I had to see if it was still playing, well played
Extra crunchy peanut butter with seedless blackberry jelly and a quart of ice cold whole milk is awesome!!!
I'd love to see what NASA engineers would come up with for the Mun in an hour and back challenge. Their supercomputer would help.
Alric8 Would have to accelerate at 49gs. It would have to be unmanned unless you want jam
Kerbals have survived worse. Some of the time at least.
Y'know... we should help Scott with his PB&J issue by sending him pounds of Peanut Butter M&Ms, Reeses Pieces, and Reeses Cups.
In case you missed it (I did) the challenge here (which was a holdover from last session) was to get to the moon and back in 1hr.
ReverendTed
That's what I was looking for, thanks!
"It was a fat finger!" -- That line never works for me!
Judgin from the thumbnail and without having watched it I already have a feeling that this is rather the 1fps rocket xD
the first try is like 0,05fps
If Scott is ever playing a supervillian role in some kind of movie - I would totally watch it.
Well that uses the number one rule of ksp: when in doubt, more boosters
he even implemented rule 2 mid flight! moar tape! (autostrut)
I had to buy that Voyager box set because of you. So cool!
I'd say that is a BBW of a rocket ship. Subconscious telling you something Scott?
Wouldn't it be BBR?
Ridiculous Scotty! :D I likee it, and what a save!
Just reading the title made my pc CPU burn
11:29 Vessel starting with 50000 tons, landed with 94kg
literally clicked on your channel as this came up haha :D here we go then
What a great phrase. 'Now the physics is kicking in."
11:28 woah meme isnt dead, time for another video
It's fucking garbage you fucking normie
Reekabo on a Scott Manley video?
A Руссий, grammar commu-nazi of course! Scott is awesome! I watch him since years
This has got to be very interesting
i deadest thought youtube had frozen LOL
well played sir
Gives new meaning to Moar Boosters!
At about 10:00 , textbook lunar mission right there :)
And everything went PERFECTLY!
Didn't know what bbw at 6:44 meant so i googled it. Very interesting =PPP
...ummm i actually fell for the frozen video moment...flippin shocked the heck outta me, good one, good one :D
"Space-Xing this like a pro" Damn!! That was Savage af! 🤣
Crunchy peanut butter on a toasted English muffin.. yummm. Bread could be totally useful for the spacecraft! Just make it into carbon foam tiles and coat the craft for thermal protection :) .
1:41
"we are SpaceX-ing this like a pro"
The frame rate and number of explosions was like Perfect Dark multiplayer.
I now believe that Scott is secretly related to the crazy slingshot guy.

The entire point of the challenge was to do it with stock parts and part sizes.
As is usually the case with reddit challenges; where's the challenge if you can pick optimal mods for it?
I, as a non-american european, absolutely love pb'n'j. how can someone not like it?

mazman117 of he could build a mast that is 1 m from the mun like an absolute madman
this is as KSP as it gets
Peanut sauce? Thats what you call it over there?
Turn based space launches.
scott, against the stickyness of peanut butter, you have butter
SpaceX never has to deal with framedrops.
"aeugheughtehrehghehe UEH, UEEEH, uthehrehu ehh"
- Scott Manley, 2017 (13:07)
*Walks into cactus "Ahh Yes, she has successfully completed her mission"
So what was the cost per lb on this mission? Haha!
Not enough boosters.
I'll bet nobody remembered to bring the makings for s'mores to that first launch.
I drank a peanut butter shake while watching this.
I loved Scott's last comment, "flat-earthers, bunch of rubbish, guys are morons"...beautifully put Scott, those fools couldn't find their own arses with both hands.
This is a guy who knows physics
In Japan they have something called peanut cream which is nothing like peanut butter. Completely different texture. I didn't really care for it but Scott might like it.
Darn it. Now I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
funny to watch the first explosion. even Scott is a little kid and love to blow up things.
When I first got the game I started a sandbox world and tried the same thing to get to the mun. That was November 2019 and today I did a 2 stage direct ascent manned rocket to Dres and back for around 150000 funds in career with 11m of delta v to spare
the suicide burn mech jeb data is very very accurate... use that
I got my voyager record like a week ago. So awesome. Would recommend to a friend
Impressive feat!
Well, that's a first for me, just had a *post* roll ad on this.
What fps was that? Actaully never mind, what fpm was that? XD
or what spf?
If your heart rate was synced with your frame rate, KSP would be a dangerous game. :p
With my computer, any game would be a dangerous one. maybe except for the really old ones if its having a good day.
And that's KSP done right for you :D
Fun part starts at 0:01
No it starts at 0:00

Scott you picked my favorite Kevin MacLeode song. Please use more lol.
Believe it or not it's been 1 or 2 years since I've watched one of your vids
"Its just a weird... it just doesn't work for me" YOU'RE WEIRD :D)
having seen you talk about getting your time to the mun and back down last week i had figured we might get some video about that but scott, scott what are you doing here.

The crash save on Mun was unexpected!
Love that line "That was technically a touch and go". Wouldn't by that logic an overshoot of the runway also be a touch and go?
Im pretty sure the light next to the stock vertical speed indicator thingy shows if you gonna explode when you touch the ground
That first landing was so lucky
Vinny caravella school of design
Lol it was noon when I watched this not the evening.
Scott, any chance you're going to come to FL for a visit soon? KSC or otherwise? Would love to see you do a TED Talk in the Tampa Bay area!
They should make a super-earth kerbin. 40 earth masses, 3G surface gravity, 25 atmospheres surface pressure.
I read the title and I thought - 0.1 fps max and when stationary :D
Goooooooood night Scott
Need a Supercomputer for your Humongous physic launches
That was so clutch
Hey Scott! Where can I watch your streams?
Long Term Challenge: do the same thing for Minmus then every single planet.
Meta-challenge: do the same thing for all trips in real life as well.
i dont know why we have such a love of it. i will eat it once in a while if we dont have anything else
2:20 Now would be a great time for a launch escape system, huh? XD
I had to google BBW. Lol how did Scott know all about that ha ha.
"As a british person thats not something i would like"
TRY IT SCOTT! Just load up on more Jam than Peanut Butter.
as a Kiwi i LOVE! a Peanut butter (smooth) and Raspberry Jam sandwich.
What’s up Scott Manley!!!!
6:45 whatever floats your boat, scott :D
@Scott Manley what is that lovely song at the end of your video?
If you don't like peanut butter, maybe an almond butter or sun-butter (sunflower seed butter) would be more to your liking, Scott. I know almond butter isn't as sticky as peanut butter, and I've heard the same about sunbutter but I've never tried it (that stuff is expensive, comparatively, and I don't have the kitchen equipment to make my own).
my entire time as an American kid I thought I was strange for not liking peanut butter...
ahh yes, when you add boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters to boosters and, you guessed it, boosters.
Space cowboys and the Daedalus mission.
very cool!
At 2:50, I thought Scott had paralysis.
