Hahahah 😂😂😂I love Tim Conway especially when he plays a dentist on the Carrol Burnett show and Harvey Korman was in his chair tried to control his laughter but he didn’t 🤣🤣🤣 have a wonderful day my friend
The interviewer is Ernie Anderson, who'd been Cleveland's late-night horror-movie host, Ghoulardi, then moved to Los Angeles and became a top announcer on commercials, "The Carol Burnett Show", and ABC TV. He and Tim had worked together on "The Ghoulardi Show", until the TV station (which had hired Tim to direct the show) discovered that Tim's resumé had exaggerated his directorial experience. The station fired him, which is why Tim often put little digs at Cleveland into his comedy.
Basically right, but Conway was fired from Anderson's earlier show, Ernie's Place, before Anderson created Ghoulardi. They still kept working together on other projects until Steve Allen hired Conway away for his talk show that was syndicated by Westinghouse. After the Steve Allen show, which was done in New York, Conway moved to Los Angeles and got McHale's Navy. Anderson was getting bored with Ghoulardi, and station management was uneasy about Anderson's unpredictability. Anderson let Conway talk him into going to California. There, he found huge success doing voice-over work, including ABC's network promos. When Conway went from frequent guest to regular cast member of the Carol Burnett Show, replacing Lyle Wagoner, Anderson took Wagoner's place as announcer.
