Every Friday night we would go to my parents friends house, they would play cards, us kids would play, then we had pizza and watched Carol Burnett, such a great memory.
That is exactly what he did. You'd know it was going to be good when he came on with the twinkle in his eyes and an almost smirk. It is the main reason Harvey was already cracking up in this skit, and no words had been said.
The two different versions of the Baby Elephant story come to mind. Vicki Lawrence and Carol Burnett have both talked about that, as has Dick Van Dyke who nearly fell off the side of the couch during the skit from roaring so hard. :)
My parents and I used to watch the Carol Burnett Show every time it came on TV ,my dad would be laughing so hard at these two comedic geniuses that he'd cry.
Poor Harvey Korman, he could never keep a straight face, he must of had stomach pain from all that laughing. I believe Tim Conway's job was to destroy Harvey in every episode and he succeeded. They made a great comedy duo. May they RIP.

I just came across this, it made my day and put a big smile on my face. These two were one of funniest people in the business, just pure comedy, no swearing of any sort, sure miss this type of comedy and entertainment. I don't know which is better, watching it live or again on YT. I know I always looked forward to watching Tim Conway make Harvey Korman laugh. Made my night watching these two feed off each other.
It had to be mental torture to try to make it through the skits with Tim right next to you trying to make you laugh. Harvey had his work cut out for him. I crack up just watching him lose it. 😂
Conway went out of his way to make the others brake character, specially Korman. They had a TON of fun making these skits and it shows in every one. Classic comedy that will stand forever...
This is the only show my parents would let me stay up and watch on Saturday night...after she winked and said "so long.." it was bed time for me with laughter still in the memories....:)
I don’t think any skit went according to script. They rehearsed in the day and recorded at night and when it came time to shoot, words or antics changed from rehearsal. The ad libs were often what broke them up. What a fun show to watch.
Tim was so savage to Harvey. And Harvey knew it was coming every skit and it just got easier for Tim each time. Both were such talented and hilarious performers. The whole Carol Burnett team was brilliant.

One of the best Television shows of that day. We wat hed The Carol Burnett Show when it was new AND when the reruns are on. Television shows in 2023 are just terrible, so the real good comedy's are in the past. FUNNY, Good Writing, Great CLEAN HUMOR, In front of a Live Audience. Not one bit of Profanity or nastiness JUST PURE TALENT.,Tim Conway SEEMED to LIVE FOR Destroying into Laughter the great Harvey. Those two genius men and the Women Especially Carroll Burnett are so missed. The comedy today is Vulgarities and lack of Talent. THERE are some Talented Comedians but few. Carol Burnett is one of a kind, she surrounded herself with great talents that made it look so easy..🕊 👍🏼
This was not four years ago …More like fourteen or twenty year ago …. Unfortunately..We could really do with this kind of comedy today….. unfortunately it’s all filthy talking so called comedians now…..I am so glad I saw all this many years ago…..

On McHales Navy, Tim would crack up the whole crew and they were not able to stop laughing. Classic timing and physical comedy off the hook
Conway would have the prop guys set up some of the surprises to see how Korman and Burnett would react. Lot of them worked.
