Homelander has one the hardest childhood in the history of characters and was tortured daily, not just what they showed here …It’s also canon that he was tossed in acid as a child as well, obviously he’s a villain but who wouldn’t be if they grew up like that . Don’t feel any empathy for a single person in that room , not even the new people bc they know the history and still decided to work there , was completely on his side lol.
i mean when you stoop down to someone's level and do what they did to you that doesn't make you any better then them (not saying they should have lived or died i don't really care in the long run) in my opinion a better way to deal with it would have been to find a way to make them feel REAL guilt for what they did and probably are still doing to other supes. Frenchie says in season 2 about lamp lighter to Mallory, "you cannot punish him more then he punishes himself" becuase guilt is the ultimate punishment, the only way free of it is to die and so if he found a way to bring that guilt to the surface and then either lock them up so that they cant kill themselves and are forced to live with it for the rest of their lives or idk just let them off themselves but i feel like that would kind of defeat the purpose of the whole thing
@@rileytruax766 agreed but homelander is the way that he is lol that’s why I said that he’s not going to feel any better or at least a normal person wouldnt
If I heard you right you said "A horror film with Homelander would be terrifying." I think that is basically what the movies "Brightburn"(2019) and "Firestarter" (2022) and to a lesser extent (similar theme, but it wasn't really horro)"Chronicle" (2012) I liked Chronicle a lot, can't attest to the quality of the other two as I haven't seen them.
@@aarons1705 I was and wasn’t, like if he hadn’t done anything bad before I would 100% be on his side but bc he’s just an awful person regardless I felt bad for them. Like it’s not like this is going to heal him, it’s just gonna make him worse you know?
@@AbbyJaneReacts I thought about that too but I doubt that their innicent. They mabey were not part of Homelander's torture but Vought wouldn't just bring random people in their secret lab, it just wouldn't make sense
Unfortunately the Firecracker/Starlight situations mirrors something that actually happened in American politics, in 2017 a candidate named Roy Moore was running for office in Alabama, during that time it came out that he had SA'd women and hassled underage girls repeated times to the point he actually got banned at a local mall. He, thankfully, lost but it was only by 2%, meaning even after all that stuff was out in the public, half the state still willingly voted for him. Trump also endorsed him after all of this had already came out in the public.
@@ataridc wow that’s terrible and yeah when I was watching it it definitely felt like something that would happen in American politics sadly (and not even just America but unfortunately anywhere at this point)
I think Antony Starr deserves an Emmy for this role. My God what an actor he is!
@@usamaejaz9642 100% he is incredibly talented and the way he plays this role needs to be studied
@@AbbyJaneReactsyeah that joker laugh was the one for me in this episode. You should also see his performance in Banshee ( Tv series ).

one of the best but also most tragic episodes imo
