  • We liked the original PDP, but didn’t love it. With the release of the Pro model we home to rekindle the fire and hopefully fall in love this time. Watch and find out if the relationship ends in love.

    Purchased the PDP Pro 4.6 and I think this gun is amazing! I put the Holosun SCS on the gun, which the SCS can be directly mounted (no need to wait for Walther to send a plate) and it will also co-witness with the factory sights. I am currently waiting for my Herrington Arms comp, which I understand runs well on the PDP Pro.

      @GSquaredTactical why do you feel the guide rod has to be replaced on a polymer pistol the sd pro come with another guide rod and spring for suppressed shooting. Its exactly the same guide rod and spring and spring wieght as the ppq and q4 tac of old.

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  9 месяцев назад +3

      I don’t know if you have ever paid any attention, or really did a hard-core comparison between shooting a gun with a plastic guide rod, and then putting a stainless guide rod in the same gun, and then shooting it just to see how much better managed the recoil is and how much more accurately you can shoot with it. Not to mention, it just bothers me that I can pull that spring out and literally bandit into the shape of a U

    Optics plate will take a week or two to arrive. Not sure why people hate on polymer guide rods, steel rods don’t flex and often drag on the inside of the hole in the slide it protrudes through while reciprocating.

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  2 месяца назад +3

      I changed to a ZR Tactical guide rod and the difference was noticeable. Typically when I do things like that, there’s no real noticeable difference or it is so small. It is difficult to recognize a difference, but there was a difference. It was noticeable mostly in the recoil response. I just know that every gun I’ve ever owned that has a one piece stainless guide rod shooting performance is way better. So that is why I personally prefer that. Thanks for watching. • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  9 месяцев назад +3

      I somewhat agree with both points of view. I do believe that the gun manufacturers profit margin is large enough. They should be able to eat some of that without adding too much, if any to the price of the gun. But with that being said, if you were to buy those plates separately they would cost about $40-$60 each. Also, Glock does not provide the plates with the MOS any longer. I’m not exactly sure when they stopped doing it but it was sometime this year because I have noticed gun stores sale all that Glock MOS plate bundle in the cardboard up on the wall now and they said Glock stopped putting them in there sometime this year. In the case of the Walther, I will say that I ordered the free plate for the Rmr, the same day i bought the gun and it arrived at my front door in six days so it was here pretty quick I just get frustrated because I would like to outfit it with the optic the same day I bought it but I do understand that most people are just going to pick one plate and probably lose the other three so they just say we will give you a free plate. Just tell us which one you want so we don’t have to drive the price up by adding four in every single bundle. It’s kind of a love-hate kind of thing with me because back when I first started buying optic ready guns, it seemed that all of them came with plates and slowly, but surely they stopped. That’s why I like the guns like the Canik, MC9, the Springfield echelon, the Iwi Masada and a couple others that you can flush mount without a plate. Sidenote FN those provide for optic plates with their guns but my God the price of the average FM is about $1200 so I guess you paid for it in the end.

Then I got a beretta.. they’re both good and accurate but the beretta was obviously designed better even tho it’s slightly less modular (can’t just slip the FCU out without tools). And the polymer is like some kind of metal compared to the super plasticy Sig… then I got an SD40ve and that just jams easy but still feels heavier and higher quality than the PDP after that. HOLYYYYY crap the PDP feeels like a cheap toy compared to everything. Didn’t know it was mandatory to weigh it down with lights and optics. Flipped like a dolphin without anything. Beretta hit everything you put the dot on with ease. Handful of ppl were expecting to favor the PDP at the range but walked away loving beretta… they’re heavy like metal frame and they scream quality and heft… the PDP screams Hefty but is more like an anorexic on a diet … must save them some money. @GSquaredTactical Well I shot my PDP Pro today and while it was accurate out of the box, I'd have to say I prefer shooting the Canik SFX Rival. The PDP has more recoil impulse than other similar pistols of its size. I somewhat anticipated that would be the case. During the purchase process I commented how light the pistol felt (I didn't know the weight at that time). While that's good for carrying, it's not good for those sensitive to recoil pulse. I think most people just drool over it because of the brand recognition. While I like its look, had I shot this prior, I would not have purchased it. Still a nice pistol though.

    I’ve tried the 13LBS guide rod on this firearm but it was too weak, the 15LBS is the sweet spot! Thanks for the video!

      13 is recommended when running a herrington or pmm comp. 15 for stock.

      I’m certain it came with an 18lb but the 15 makes it a different gun. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
