@@tula__ How do you articulate 'most of the the time' or 'all the time', when majority of the leaders are men? Its ridiculous of you to have said that Men don't step down. Recently, Afghan president fled the country leaving the people to Taliban, Hitler had committed suicide with the fear of having to live a defeated life. You think there was no history of men who could not handle pressure? In that case, Good morning! Wake up ! see things around you for yourself. But, you can see it only after you acknowledged the fact that you do get irked deep inside with the women coming into the position of authority. It's quite evident from your response. Some men and also certain women of these men dont like to see confidence and authority in women. So, once again ...wake up!

The greatest thing that modern feminism has taught me is that women can be JUST as incompetent, corrupt, and racist as men. My company hires and promotes 90% of women, they even told the men that they will only promote women...so all the men left, which leads to voids in the company where certain talents could not be filled. This doesnt mean the men were somehow better it just means that the individual who filled those spots had skills that other individuals could not fulfill. The company went downhill after the exodus and we laid off 5,000 people (most whom were women). This is why its important to focus on skill instead of gender because on the long run it actually HELPS people instead of creating conflicts of ideology.

Men quit, and women also quit. As Kenneth Kaunda once said when he lost an election, "You win some, you lose some." Sometimes the wise thing is to jump off a sinking boat, and more so when you know you're the cause. There's a term for leaders who insist on hanging on to power and lack the grace and wisdom to graciously step aside at the appropriate time: Dictators.

Question is why are there fewer women in leadership positions- this has its roots in history, in culture, in religion and in politics itself. If it was a race; picture women standing 10 feet behind from the starting line; with many more hurdles to jump across than their male counterparts.

I think anyone in power should take a leaf out of these leaders' book. They quit when it was the right thing to do. And created space for self-healing and moreover, a new leader and fresh perspective for their nation. It shows rare wisdom and courage. Something the commonly spotted power hungry and greedy leaders (who teeter on the border of narcissism) could never fathom. Undoubtedly, these great leaders will seek out a different role and continue to contribute in meaningful ways. Quitting a job is just that- quitting a job- nothing more. What its not is this- end of the world. Because a job does not define one or their entire existence. In fact, true leadership transcends any label which humanity burdens them with.

To use the gilded age's quote "I give you hypocrisy in a nutshell"! If she left her job due to leadership issues, why can't they leave for their own reasons or mental health? In that case, why didn't she stay and fight? Or is this grace not extended to these aforementioned women.
Furthermore, to bring Thatcher as an example of a female leader that fought to stay in power is just beyond me. In 11 years, Thatcher promoted only one woman to her cabinet, preferring instead to elevate men, not because the women lacked the ability or knowledge or were not performing their jobs, no, she preferred to surround herself with yes men, who were always men.

4:23 seems absurd that Palki ji would make this a gender issue, quite uncanny for her. It's perfectly fine to draw the line and move on whenever one feels it's time to do so irrespective of gender, immaterial from whichever professional sphere one hails from, and age being definitely irrelevant. Just because a person of a particular race, gender, age, and vocation isn't quitting but going at it is definitely no reason to pressurize and put oneself through mental and moral atrocities.
5:05 boys don't cry?! WTF 😒 why and how are you still propagating such offensive reprehensible stereotypes.

Two women out of thousands upon thousands of other women in high top jobs have quit in a matter of weeks. So what?! I'm sure the percentage of men in same is far greater. And so, this is truly not a big deal. And as for Margaret Thatcher, she is not the best person to reference. Trust me, she had her fellow male colleagues quaking in their boots, and as is often the case with many women now finding themselves at the top of the political ladder, their enduring strength often times comes at the cost of compassion and empathy; traits often associated with the feminine. For me, it pains less at seeing a man prove his natural tendency to destroy than a woman losing her ability to create and broker peace: a trait which was lost on Thatcher, Theresa May, (who oversaw the Windrush scandal when Home Secretary). And then there's our current (female) Home Secretary who had to be scolded by an elderly Holocaust survivor for having employed scornful words when referencing immigrants.

#palkisharma I respectfully disagree. I think these women are way wiser than their male counterparts by choosing happiness over stress, life over work. The more we compare men and women the more discrimination we introduce in the society. Women and men are fundamentally different, biologically, socially, and for a good reason. It strikes balance in the society. Both bring unique things to the table. Is the stress of a C suite job worth it? I have lived both lives. I can tell you, it is not. More men die from heart attacks thank women, more men commit suicide than women, the list goes on. There is something that women are doing right. They are choosing wisely. They are living for themselves and not for their egos, not caring about what you or other people will think about them. Don't force them in the wrong direction. The society should provide equality of opportunity. That's it. And then we should stop talking.

What should be celebrated is the fact that there is no 'gender' based ceiling in pretty much any part of the world (except for Islamic world). In our traditional Indian life women on those 5 days will be made to not do any work even not touch any things. Her only work is to eat, sleep and clean herself for those 5 days in a separate room. For those days men, children and other family members will cover for her in maintenance of home and other chores. But after liberalisation and globalisation these were named as backward, bias towards women. And then came the culture to work by using napkins on that day. Even in my childhood in village I have seen this practice.
Now after few decades yesterday I read an article titled ' Should India need to know more about periods: Menstrual leave'

I have a simple answer to this suitation - a women on a job after having her family built becomes a safe player & don’t want mess to enter in her personal life, men are vice versa they become more risk taker & at times uncalculated risk, on top of that if a successful man is out there any gold-digging female would be ok to spread her legs & give pleasure (which she calls happiness) however a successful women is seen more as threat to her own people & society. (Sorry I am talking really rude about women however that’s the truth & also a women always has more threat from another women compared to a man)

I think my answer was apt. You talked of women being lazy. I answered that. I don’t see why you’d reply like that unless you were especially against India and not women, or you consider your first comment vague to even begin with.

    • @tula__
      @tula__ Год назад +2

@@ellyqueen8504 you cannot equate humans giving birth to animals doing the same. Animals don’t have a career, a choice. They are hardcore wired to do their roles in the society. That is males to mate and compete for power and women while women take care of young ones and their nourishment.
Humans are quite different in the sense humans aren’t bound to those duties unless you’re a politician who has the duty towards his country and continuation of mankind. Women are free to chase a career while not being answerable to society for not being a mother. Same way men can do do. Chase a career, a passion without really thinking of building a family of his own. Reason being already high population. So if we take the work of making kids and providing them nourishment, education, security, it is completely an individual’s choice, not a binding. So if a woman gives up her career for her kids, it is her choice and her kids should be thankful! If a man gives up his happiness, works 13 hour shifts for his family, it’s laudable.
But there’s catch here. In a patriarchal society, women are supposed to look after kids and men to go to work. We are programmed that way for centuries or even millennia. So if a woman works, it is natural to think of her kids. So it is natural for her to ditch her job if her home demands attention. Same way it is natural for men to bring food on the table. It is natural for men to keep working outside even if his home needs attention. I’m not speaking of single fathers who do both jobs in and out. But the general population is that way.
So it is more likely a woman would quit than a man when home front needs attention. Besides I’m not even talking about women who leave their jobs to raise children AFTER birth, compared to men who still continue working. A large percentage would rather keep working than leave job, results in them working till retirement or getting kicked out of job than voluntarily leaving. Majority of them. Exceptions cannot be taken into account as they are small percentage.
