What its not is this- end of the world. Because a job does not define one or their entire existence. In fact, true leadership transcends any label which humanity burdens them with.
Well said! To use the gilded age's quote "I give you hypocrisy in a nutshell"! If she left her job due to leadership issues, why can't they leave for their own reasons or mental health? In that case, why didn't she stay and fight? Or is this grace not extended to these aforementioned women. Furthermore, to bring Thatcher as an example of a female leader that fought to stay in power is just beyond me. In 11 years, Thatcher promoted only one woman to her cabinet, preferring instead to elevate men, not because the women lacked the ability or knowledge or were not performing their jobs, no, she preferred to surround herself with yes men, who were always men.
Palki should always remember, That men work , fight, and do everything for the WOMAN they have married or as his Girlfriend.. Remove that BURDEN of woman as his wife , then Men really don't need to do anything...
palki, you have mentioned the unmentionable !!! you have made a detailed report of the unmentionable... you have become historic! you are truly the mostest !!!
4:23 seems absurd that Palki ji would make this a gender issue, quite uncanny for her. It's perfectly fine to draw the line and move on whenever one feels it's time to do so irrespective of gender, immaterial from whichever professional sphere one hails from, and age being definitely irrelevant. Just because a person of a particular race, gender, age, and vocation isn't quitting but going at it is definitely no reason to pressurize and put oneself through mental and moral atrocities. 5:05 boys don't cry?! WTF 😒 why and how are you still propagating such offensive reprehensible stereotypes. This episode is definitely questioning my admiration for your thought provoking journalism. 'Chiraag tale andhera' is proving true here, unfortunately and unsurprisingly. The most woke and vocal do falter on the most unexpected ones - some food for thought for Palki ji perhaps.
Two women out of thousands upon thousands of other women in high top jobs have quit in a matter of weeks. So what?! I'm sure the percentage of men in same is far greater. And so, this is truly not a big deal. And as for Margaret Thatcher, she is not the best person to reference. Trust me, she had her fellow male colleagues quaking in their boots, and as is often the case with many women now finding themselves at the top of the political ladder, their enduring strength often times comes at the cost of compassion and empathy; traits often associated with the feminine. For me, it pains less at seeing a man prove his natural tendency to destroy than a woman losing her ability to create and broker peace: a trait which was lost on Thatcher, Theresa May, (who oversaw the Windrush scandal when Home Secretary). And then there's our current (female) Home Secretary who had to be scolded by an elderly Holocaust survivor for having employed scornful words when referencing immigrants.
#palkisharma I respectfully disagree. I think these women are way wiser than their male counterparts by choosing happiness over stress, life over work. The more we compare men and women the more discrimination we introduce in the society. Women and men are fundamentally different, biologically, socially, and for a good reason. It strikes balance in the society. Both bring unique things to the table. Is the stress of a C suite job worth it? I have lived both lives. I can tell you, it is not. More men die from heart attacks thank women, more men commit suicide than women, the list goes on. There is something that women are doing right. They are choosing wisely. They are living for themselves and not for their egos, not caring about what you or other people will think about them. Don't force them in the wrong direction. The society should provide equality of opportunity. That's it. And then we should stop talking.
"A man without his livelihood is not a man, a woman without her livelihood she's a homemaker" -sun tzu-(probably) Women choosing happiness over stress and work is not wise or empowering, men are "built" to support more stress and anxiety from the tension of having a straining job ... A man must build his value by his work his wealth and his competence, that's how the world sees us, as "working robots"(that's how the world functioned and progressed over the years). A woman has already an inherit value her beauty and her feminity... A woman not only working would be useful for the world but also being a mother and a homemaker
It takes courage to quit at such a high post. If you think someone else can do the job better, it's okay to let someone take over. Unless you want an incapable, oldie with dementia to stay in that post. Salute to these ladies!
Like many have said, the topic is important, but the some of the ladies used as examples - NZ ex-PM - are not good ones. They were not good leaders, and made major mistakes, and didn't want to face the music, so quite - whether there were other reasons, possibly, but can't ignore that she failed.
I would have to respectfully disagree. Having watched your interviews and what you went through in your previous jobs, I did not expect this from you. It takes integrity, strength, and high EQ regardless of gender to say "It is time to step down". Being a gatekeeper of a leadership position does not make you a good leader, even more so when you are governing a nation. These women should be admired and hailed as great leaders for knowing when to let go of power.
First, women are told we can do anything want. Yet, when we do what we want we are told it's "quitting" if we what we want isn't a power grab from men. 🤦🏼♀️
We certainly need such a quality journalism to put forth the Indian perspective in front of the world. Palki you do have big responsibility on your shoulders and I'm certain that you get the work done.
Long term sustainability of women in high profile jobs is a cause of concern as was shown in a study recently, due to a list of factors. In the study it was concluded that those positions are usually discarded by women due to poor economic outcome or the standing of position held becomes a liability for the entity itself.

I am sure it is not palatable for many women that some women in the top jobs are quitting. What should be celebrated is the fact that there is no 'gender' based ceiling in pretty much any part of the world (except for Islamic world). So if some woman is persistent enough, she would remain and vice versa (also applies to men). There is nothing to infer / draw from these incidents.
If a law is enacted, it MAY negatively impact women in the work place. But is no law is enacted, it ALREADY negatively impacts women in the work place! Surely, having a law is better than not having it. At least this way women can avail the support if they need it.

In our traditional Indian life women on those 5 days will be made to not do any work even not touch any things. Her only work is to eat, sleep and clean herself for those 5 days in a separate room. For those days men, children and other family members will cover for her in maintenance of home and other chores. But after liberalisation and globalisation these were named as backward, bias towards women. And then came the culture to work by using napkins on that day. Even in my childhood in village I have seen this practice. Now after few decades yesterday I read an article titled ' Should India need to know more about periods: Menstrual leave' Ayyo🤦இருந்தத தொலச்சிட்டு வேரெங்கோ தேடுறதே நம்ம பொழப்பா இருக்கு Translation: After voluntarily Losing we search for it somewhere else This is all because of McCauley education that we always look down upon our own parampariyam.
We have no business telling someone to stay put when they are feeling pressured whether they are a man or a woman. This is big problem specially in India. One example is parents forcing their kids for government jobs.
Those who are addicted to position will never quit. So it’s usually men who are addicted to power and position. Their personal lives suck and still won’t quit. Now who’s the greedy one?
Indira gandhi etc are examples of the past. Today’s women can’t have it all. Its never ‘have it all’ for ordinary working women. This crap about ‘have it all’ is possible when you have battery of servants, supportive spouse and children otherwise not possible.Women were fed bunch of lies about life, work and physical capabilities in 70s,80s which they are now realising were incomplete and some were untrue.
No project can ever be a true success unless female energies are an integral part of it. Women must always be given a level playing field always. That is all they need..the rest they will take care of. Such is their strength.

I have a simple answer to this suitation - a women on a job after having her family built becomes a safe player & don’t want mess to enter in her personal life, men are vice versa they become more risk taker & at times uncalculated risk, on top of that if a successful man is out there any gold-digging female would be ok to spread her legs & give pleasure (which she calls happiness) however a successful women is seen more as threat to her own people & society. (Sorry I am talking really rude about women however that’s the truth & also a women always has more threat from another women compared to a man)
It's not quitting, but choosing wisely. Those who get stuck in "not quitting", end up losing happiness, peace, and health in life, and in many cases life itself.
Maybe the message they're sending is the correct one. Give up on family or give up on work are often 2 stark choices for women. You don't have any business commenting on these women's personal choices.
Because they're too solipsistic and lazy. There are almost no women military personnel, construction workers, auto mechanics, logging workers, fishers, aircraft pilots and flight engineers, roofers, iron and steel workers, coal miners, truck drivers, farmers, power line installers & repairers, firefighters, sewage workers and so on
I don’t know where you come from but in India we have high proportions of women in odd jobs too. For example India has most number of women pilots than anywhere around the world. Miners, yes a lot if poor households have women miners too because the labour is cheap compared to what you have to pay the men for the same work. Lazy? Women are lazy? @@ellyqueen8504 you cannot equate humans giving birth to animals doing the same. Animals don’t have a career, a choice. They are hardcore wired to do their roles in the society. That is males to mate and compete for power and women while women take care of young ones and their nourishment. Humans are quite different in the sense humans aren’t bound to those duties unless you’re a politician who has the duty towards his country and continuation of mankind. Women are free to chase a career while not being answerable to society for not being a mother. Same way men can do do. Chase a career, a passion without really thinking of building a family of his own. Reason being already high population. So if we take the work of making kids and providing them nourishment, education, security, it is completely an individual’s choice, not a binding. So if a woman gives up her career for her kids, it is her choice and her kids should be thankful! If a man gives up his happiness, works 13 hour shifts for his family, it’s laudable. But there’s catch here. In a patriarchal society, women are supposed to look after kids and men to go to work. We are programmed that way for centuries or even millennia. So if a woman works, it is natural to think of her kids. So it is natural for her to ditch her job if her home demands attention. Same way it is natural for men to bring food on the table. It is natural for men to keep working outside even if his home needs attention. I’m not speaking of single fathers who do both jobs in and out. But the general population is that way. So it is more likely a woman would quit than a man when home front needs attention. Besides I’m not even talking about women who leave their jobs to raise children AFTER birth, compared to men who still continue working. A large percentage would rather keep working than leave job, results in them working till retirement or getting kicked out of job than voluntarily leaving. Majority of them. Exceptions cannot be taken into account as they are small percentage.

According to Margerett Thatcher, "men say and women do". Well everywhere why do we get to see the opposite then ? 🤔
Palki should always remember, That men work , fight, and do everything for the WOMAN they have married or as his Girlfriend..
Remove that BURDEN of woman as his wife , then Men really don't need to do anything...
This does not sound like journalism more like judgement 😅
palki, you have mentioned the unmentionable !!! you have made a detailed report of the unmentionable... you have become historic! you are truly the mostest !!!
Dude they quit too young, men don’t do that. And they are on high table.
Thank u for saying that! 👏👏 I totally agree with u. Couldn't have said it better!
"A man without his livelihood is not a man, a woman without her livelihood she's a homemaker"
-sun tzu-(probably)
Women choosing happiness over stress and work is not wise or empowering, men are "built" to support more stress and anxiety from the tension of having a straining job ...
It takes wisdom, not courage. If not for the ego, one can quit in a heartbeat. These jobs are wicked brutual.
Men are not ti blame.. women are quitting their job becoz they R exhausted and of burnout..
Don’t think this is about men and women..and no way women need to act like a man…if they do that’s wrong

We certainly need such a quality journalism to put forth the Indian perspective in front of the world. Palki you do have big responsibility on your shoulders and I'm certain that you get the work done.
Women are intelligent to see where the situation now will lead in the future.. take head when women shy away from the public. Always.
Because times are tough and women run away from danger. They want power without responsibility.
That's not true tho.
Stop playing the woman victim card all the time
Long term sustainability of women in high profile jobs is a cause of concern as was shown in a study recently, due to a list of factors.
In the study it was concluded that those positions are usually discarded by women due to poor economic outcome or the standing of position held becomes a liability for the entity itself.
No. Please don’t head down this path.

A true leader can be both a saint and a demon. In other words, a person must show no mercy to these traitors, troublemakers and enemies.
Yeah that other station straight lost their life when this Woman left.
If a law is enacted, it MAY negatively impact women in the work place. But is no law is enacted, it ALREADY negatively impacts women in the work place! Surely, having a law is better than not having it. At least this way women can avail the support if they need it.
Classic Feminist reply, Blame everything on men. I respect women and I also support equality. But feminists need to understand that man sacrifices more in society women and people have very high expectations from them.
Well i believe you're a man otherwise you wouldn't have said this and very humbly, i just want to say having seen all the men's sacrifices they make, women i personally know have made tonnes more than. I do respect you and working is not easy but you're only seeing life from your lens so you know of the sacrifices you/men make and I am seeing my life though my lens and frankly I see i make more sacrifices to work and balance life than men.
And people have way too high expectations of women too so it's a people thing not a men thing
what a load of crap
K - people who ? You & me ? A man becomes either two things when given support from his own family & people - 1. Wiser or 2. Stupider

@First, only biological women menstruate😮 not transgenders
In our traditional Indian life women on those 5 days will be made to not do any work even not touch any things. Her only work is to eat, sleep and clean herself for those 5 days in a separate room. For those days men, children and other family members will cover for her in maintenance of home and other chores. But after liberalisation and globalisation these were named as backward, bias towards women. And then came the culture to work by using napkins on that day. Even in my childhood in village I have seen this practice.
Now after few decades yesterday I read an article titled ' Should India need to know more about periods: Menstrual leave'

While men will stick like super glue even if the whole country go up in flames against him
We have no business telling someone to stay put when they are feeling pressured whether they are a man or a woman. This is big problem specially in India. One example is parents forcing their kids for government jobs.
either man or women who are adicted to position will never do good to the society.

Countries without killings can try women but countries with lots of killings has no chance for women, it's too much for their emotions.
So 4 women quit and its a mass resign? Can you ever pull real stats instead of giving biased opinions all day? 😂

@@ellyqueen8504 you were talking of odd jobs like pilot, mining, etc. I spoke on that. If your comment was on entire job force my comment would have been different accordingly.
I think my answer was apt. You talked of women being lazy. I answered that. I don’t see why you’d reply like that unless you were especially against India and not women, or you consider your first comment vague to even begin with.
Jacinda was obvious....the NZ economy was in the tank. Sturgeon of Scotland could not define what a woman is? Possible a more progressive replacement.
