Hi Stephen - you can also work the left side of the dip st by using your left hand needle going into the hole three rows down and pulling through a loop, so avoiding stretching your work so much between the two needles. I found this purely by chance when trying to dig out a reluctant loop!

The heart stitches will appear upside down in mittens because you're knitting from the cuff Just so you know
