I am 71 and I still have the white coat syndrome. Whenever I go to the doctors office and my blood pressure is taken, it is always high. I try to be calm and remain quiet, but the technicians keep asking me questions and that annoys me because I’ve heard that talking can also increase your systolic.

  • @essanjay8604

Interesting - I had always thought it was the diastolic number I needed to worry about and that the systolic is the number that changes according to what you're doing - eg taking exercise will raise it, getting stressed will raise it etc etc.

I say no one knows, drs are just guessing. They are things that cause your pressure to go up, like being in a dentist chair, what do we do then. Gif i go for a long walk my pressure goes high, so i give up. Eat healthy, exercise, and stop worrying about your pressure, sugar, and you will be fine.
