We had a lady come in today. She say she's been having chest pain for 2 days. As soon as her husband brought her into the ER, she collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. Had to go into the operating room to an angioplasty. Moral of the story, don't wait. Had she been even 5 minutes later, her husband would've been planning her funeral.
It’s not always due to heart disease. My husband had a most serious case of bladder infection & at a certain point it caused a cardiac arrest. He was revived so quickly. But now, we’re dealing with clearing the infection, getting his bladder cleaned up and the recovery of his memory & confusion.
Hi, yes when my father would get urinary infections and hospital stay, he's dementia would always get worse. Not saying your husband has dementia. But It's a fact when they're in the hospital it seem their memory gets worse. I always hated when my dad was there for a few days, he always came home more confused. Hope this helps.
You are so very right. Heart failure is not always due to a heart attack. Mr Jones died from a heart failure after the neighbour found him in bed wth his wife and shot him in the chest. He was actually trying to shoot his balls off, but did not have his glasses on. The judge found the shooting neighbout guilty of manslaughter.
Asthma can cause issues for the heart as well. I had two back to back asthma attacks the other day and it was causing dangerous issues for my heart, it's rhythm was extremely out of whack that was painful as well because not enough oxygen was getting around. Now I am on strict bed rest and medicine regiment for the next week.

I had MI on Nov 2024, LVEF 45%, stet was placed. May please elaborate what damage it caused to the tissues and what will be affect on other organs of body.
An MI (heart attack) damages heart muscle, reducing its ability to pump efficiently, which is reflected in your LVEF (45%). This can lead to scarring and may strain other organs, like the kidneys or lungs, over time due to reduced blood flow. Follow-up care, medications, and a heart-healthy lifestyle are key to managing the effects and protecting your overall health. Consult your cardiologist for personalized advice!
From 0:45 the ventricles and atria are just pumping emptily even though you are explaining normal mechanism. (Not referring to asystole, this is before you reach to asystole).

i have also same problem my ecg 6/7 time eco 2 time complete normal ... then after all test i go through chest x ray them diagnosis costochondritis that causes anxious and stress condition bacuse all heart normal but undiagnosed costochondritis is reason..... so do x ray
Do a CT Angiogram , Echo only checks for heart structural issues. Any arteries or micro vascular issues will not pick up in those tests . If you are really concerned you can do a CT Angiogram to rule out any issues. On a side note , chest pains are not always cardiovascular related . It can be non cardio issues as well . Such as Anxiety, GERD , musculoskeletal pain , nerve compression etc . I wish you all the best .

Atrial fibrillation (AFib) doesn’t typically go away on its own, though it can sometimes resolve temporarily. It’s important to work with your healthcare provider to manage the condition, as AFib can increase the risk of stroke and other complications. Treatment options like medication, lifestyle changes, or procedures like cardioversion can help control or even resolve AFib in some cases.
I learned something new from this video. It means somone can have a heart attack but can still somehow walk freely whitle the heart muscles die slowly? Someone should please clearify me if i never got the video well.
Yes, you’re right! Heart attacks can sometimes have mild or “silent” symptoms and don’t often look like the dramatic scenes in movies. A person might still move around while damage occurs. It’s vital to seek medical help if there’s any suspicion to prevent further harm.
So is cardiac arrest just a term for the heart stopping, like respiratory arrest means breathing stops? Meaning a heart attack can lead to cardiac arrest, but they're not the same thing?
Yes- in a heart attack the blocked artery prevents blood from reaching a section of the heart and that part of the heart begins to die, but the heart does not usually stop beating during a heart attack. So you are exactly right, Heart attack can lead to (and increase the risk of) cardiac arrest, a disruption of the hearts electrical system to where it cannot pump blood effectively- but they are not the same.
Yes, animation can make complicated concepts more accessible to a wider audience. Being able to visualize medical and health concepts is crucial for understanding.
It sounds like you’ve been through so much, and your strength is truly inspiring. Wishing you continued resilience and good health as you navigate life with an ICD and heart failure. Take care, and thank you for watching!
I have mild cardiomyopathy a.k.a Heart failure. Heart doesn't pump as efficiently as it should. No major blockages. Small amount of plaque not serious. Cardiologist tells me it's probably caused by sleep apnea and I need a sleep test done because I hold my breath while sleeping. Will need to sleep with a CPAP mask if tests prove positive. Apparently it's a known fact that sleep apnea causes heart problems.

A rare side effect of heparin is a condition called Heparin Induced Thrombocytopenia. It occurs in a very small number of patients, but it has very serious symptoms including worsening of clotting and developing new clots, which can lead to stroke, heart attack, or deep vein thrombosis. Otherwise, (and for most patients) heparin works as an anticoagulant, preventint further clotting.
Being mindful of cardiovascular health is incredibly important. Monitoring blood pressure, normal body weight for the individual, blood glucose, and cholesterol levels can give good basic insights into heart health. Some conditions may require more advanced or regular testing. And if you have a family history of cardiac issues, regular screenings can save lives. Proactive actions like healthy eating, regular exercise, and quitting smoking or tabacco use will positively impact your heart health. We recommend seeing your doctor to evaluate your heart health and understand and address any individual concerns.
I’m really sorry you’re experiencing that-those symptoms can be very serious. Swelling in the feet, shortness of breath, and coughing up blood may be signs of heart issues, such as heart failure or a blood clot. It’s important to get immediate medical attention. Please seek help from a healthcare professional as soon as possible to get the proper evaluation and care.
What is your native language? We don't allow reposting, but are working on making our content available in more languages. We can let you know when that is available.
What’s the typical presentation and progression of the last one (heart failure, I think it was)? And the treatment for heart failure? Especially if it’s just not pumping as efficiently as possible and only causing mild symptoms intermittently?
That is a great question, while the other two conditions are often acute events, heart failure can develop slowly over time (it can also start suddenly). Symptoms may present as shortness of breath, fatigue, swelling in the legs and feet, weakness, decrease in the ability to exercise, rapid weight gain from fluid, nausea, rapid/irregular heart beats. Bc (like you said) symptoms can be intermittent, sometimes the condition is diagnosed until later stages. So anyone experiencing those symptoms should get checked. Especially with chest pain, fainting or severe weakness, rapid/irregular heartbeat with shortness of breath. The causes and severity of heart failure can vary widely so treatments also vary. Sometimes lifestyle changes and treating contributing factors can reverse heart disease. Other times surgery is needed. Or a combination of medicines may be used. This is why recognizing the symptoms and being seen is so important.
I get palpitations oftenly,i guess once or twice every few days and that really worries me, eventhough they are most harmless, i still worry everytime i get one...

Thanks Dr
You’re welcome 😊
From 0:45 the ventricles and atria are just pumping emptily even though you are explaining normal mechanism. (Not referring to asystole, this is before you reach to asystole).
My ECG and 2D echo has come normal... but i have heart pain and it lasts for few minutes! Have shoulder, neck and lower arm pain... but still doctor says normal in echo... not sure which doctor to consult. I am afraid.
i have also same problem my ecg 6/7 time eco 2 time complete normal ... then after all test i go through chest x ray them diagnosis costochondritis that causes anxious and stress condition bacuse all heart normal but undiagnosed costochondritis is reason.....

Surah Al-Mu'minun (23:14) of the Quran: "Then We made the drop into an alaqah (leech-like structure), then We made the alaqah into a mudghah (chewed substance), then We made the mudghah into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought him forth as another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators."

Severe chronic Cardiophobia when I read about Brugada syndrome,my life is in none turning point at the age of 21 as no physiological treatment will ever be capable to relieve the fear and cardiac tests aren't effective as the syndrome is very elusive (Apparently). In extreme scenario I would look if a removal of Amygdala is fusible, anything in order to breath without being afraid 😣

@@healthdecide why am I still alive? When I was 9 years old I had a rheumatic fever which led to rheumatic heart disease. When I was having fever, doctor said I had a heart failure. I was given 24 hours to live but I survived and was given so many medicines to take for the rest of my life but due to poverty I have not taken those meds till this day. Doctor also said that I would not live beyond 12 years old because of my heart disease unless I would have a heart surgery but I didn't have a heart surgery, again, due to poverty. Doctor also said that I should not do strenuous activities as my heart would not be able to cope up with the stress. But I survived till 25 years old. But when I was 25, I was diagnosed with coronary heart disease which led me to heart attack. Again I survived. Doctor gave me medicines to take for the rest of my life for my coronary heart disease but I haven't taken those meds till this day, again, due to poverty. Doctor also said that I should have a bypass operation but we didn't have money for that 'cuz as I've said, we are poor. 20 years later since my heart attack, I have been living a normal life. Doing strenuous activities, not taking any medicines at all both for my rheumatic heart disease and my coronary heart disease. And still haven't undergone heart surgery at all. So, no meds, no surgery, only strenous activities everyday but I'm doing so fine. I'm living a very normal life and able to breathe well without any pace maker or stent or whatever. Doctor said that I wouldn't live long but I am now 45 years old. So, why am I still alive?
This poor guy. He goes to the gym and built muscles and has such a good body and is still riddled with health issues.
I swear I thought they were all the same thing but just different names for it wow
You’re far from alone in thinking that. It’s a really common misconception.
Never think about the end it may happen any time, ignore and live the life fully with happiness.
Very nice video

Lost my father Dec 22 2023 due to cardiac arrest, heart attack and cardiogenic shock. Plus a 95% blockage. He would go to the VA but also thought because his cholesterol and BP was good there were no issues. Please go get checked 😢😢
I have atrial fibrillation. Does anyone know if it goes away naturally?
Atrial fibrillation (AFib) doesn’t typically go away on its own, though it can sometimes resolve temporarily. It’s important to work with your healthcare provider to manage the condition, as AFib can increase the risk of stroke and other complications. Treatment options like medication, lifestyle changes, or procedures like cardioversion can help control or even resolve AFib in some cases.
Health Awareness Very Imp . 👍
Thank you! We think so too.
This song is really blessing me. God bless you
I learned something new from this video.
Animation Video - best way to teach. 😐
Yes, animation can make complicated concepts more accessible to a wider audience. Being able to visualize medical and health concepts is crucial for understanding.
Sir when should CPR be given? Heart attack or cardiac arrest
Cardiac Arrest - CPR should be started if someone is not breathing and has no pulse.
Very informative . Iam post 3 heart attacks , have icd implant and heart failure . Your video is spot on . I have had them all .

@@healthdecide i appreciate it thanks. starting to set in more now.. the numbness is going away.... this is gonna be rough. i was talking to him an hour or an hour and a half before it happened. he was in hospital for bronchitis complicating his copd, he also had end stage heart failure, but he was recovering well... and slated to go home within 48 hours. his heart just went haywire for a bit an stopped... it litterally just stopped. =[ my last conversation with him was an hour and a half before he died. he had to do a swallow test or something the next day for his bronchitis. i told him when he passes it i'll bring him his favorite mcdonalds. a double cheese . the nurses and doctors all said they expected him to pass it and move from ICU to a different room the next day for one or maybe 2 more nights of monitoring.. he died 90 minutes later. apparently he was just joking around with the nurses talking.. and it just happenned. breathing stoppped. heart went haywire, then heart shut down. super quick. Still hope i wake up and its a bad dream but its been days. its not fair........

Incomplete: Does not explain cardiac arrest indicated in the title of the video.
We apologize for any confusion - cardiac arrest is explained first in the video from 0:19 to 1:44. In the narration it is first referred to as "Sudden death" a common term for cardiac arrest.
How can blood clots inside a artery when there's heparin ( an anti blood clotting factor ) is present
U had
Is there anyway we can routinely check our hearts for all these cases to prevent them.. because if we can't then I'm really frightened
Curse you cardiac arrest you just wiped out my beloved father 😭😭😭😭😭😭🕊️
So sorry for your loss.
I hve swelling feet and shortness of breath & even cough blood 😢
Are you ok
I’m really sorry you’re experiencing that-those symptoms can be very serious. Swelling in the feet, shortness of breath, and coughing up blood may be signs of heart issues, such as heart failure or a blood clot. It’s important to get immediate medical attention. Please seek help from a healthcare professional as soon as possible to get the proper evaluation and care.
that is perfect😝😝😝
