PA student in clinical year here, and this is by far the best explanation of the heart sounds I have had yet! The animation helps so much, and it was explained very well! I will definitely be sharing this with classmates.
Dealing with an abrupt appearance of arrhythmia (covid or bivalent vacc. correlated) in my own case, I have to wait 2 weeks for a Holter. So all I have to go on is a (low-pass-filtered) acoustic signal recorded with a digital recorder on my chest, lying down. I can look at the trace in a sound app, but no idea how I'm supposed to interpret it. Of all the videos I've seen so far, this is the most lucid and straightforward. Now I can get a clue what the heck I'm looking at.
You should be happy that you where taught properly. Would you want to learn how to do brain surgery in 5 minutes? Bonehead.... I Hope your not a cardiologist or a doctor of any kind.
Have a look at this website: litfl.com/ecg-library/ I found this resource really useful. I do have a presentation on ECG interpretation. I could turn this into a future episode!
I have been stuck with shadows health trying to wrap my brain around the s3 and s4. Although I still have not mastered the different sounds. I love this free video better than my 1200 dollar 💵 class. Thank you so much 💓 for your help and kindness ❤️ 🙏 💕 😊!
Thank you for making this series. We just started our cadio block in PA school this week, and I was having a hard time imagining what exactly was going on in each type of murmur. This has helped immensely.
Not Med studi, RN, used it my whole career. Outstanding video & explanation. Don’t know if one was done for lung sounds. I used egophony, bronchophony & whispered pectoriloquy. Never seen my MD or cardiologist use it. Only RN’s & APRN’s. If I missed, will try to find. Great overview & really the graphics help
Studying for my NCLEX and using this video to brush up on cardiac assessment to boost uworld scores. This video goes into the how's and why's, and where to best auscultate, which makes me very happy. Going to need this knowledge once I start working next month.
Thank you so much, explained so well. I mean I get as future providers we need to know what is going on, but I also need to be able to understand the process well enough to explain it to patients, Thanks again!
Wonderful! I am in my final student paramedic year and this just helped massively on my minor injuries cardiac assessment. Now just to fathom out what and how to assess heaves and thrills 😅
I had studied it in PT first year physiology but need a good recap for Pathology in second year and I am not disappointed this is probably the best video I have watched on this topic.
Great video James, will be sending our med students to take a look! It's so much clearer to hear the sounds and see the heart motion animation side by side.
Special thanks to those who have watched this video over the last week or so. I have more episodes to follow. At the moment I am focusing on cardiology, but let me know if there are other topics you would like to see.
Hey thank you for watching ! Send a link to your teacher - lots of medschools are linking to this video during teaching. Makes your teachers life easier 👍🙏 😎
Thhe heart animation and the diagrams really help me understand this on top of that you added sound effect !!! Absolutely brilliant. I struggle with heart sounds and i love being able to see, hear , and look at diagram all toether. I neeed the visual as much as possible .lung sounds was easy to hear and understand.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad the heart animation and diagrams, along with the sound effects, were helpful in understanding the topic. Visual aids can really make a difference when it comes to grasping complex concepts like heart sounds. 😀

S2 splitting...respiratory, fixed, paradoxical, retention even after ASD repair? S1 splitting...normal and pathologic? As one who taught cardiovascular medicine for 23 years, I'm occasionally critical of videos related to my field; but, yours was clearly very good. I'm sure that many will appreciate its clarity.
This video should be something all medical schools use globally to make sense of the cardiac cycle and the added sounds in heart. I Lub Dub itttt 😊❤❤❤
I'm almost in tears. You deserve every good thing Mr Coleman.😢
@@Israella_ my gift to you ! I hope it was useful 🙏
