I can't believe how simple this is. Thought I would have to mess around with configurations and installing drivers or something insane. This makes me much more hopeful of fixing my RAM deficiency.

@@binguette install it. It's a freeware that you find easily doing a google search. Make sure to install the correct version for your PC (i.g.: my PC is a 64 bits operational system)

Thank you for tellling me to put the ram at a 45 Degree angle. No other toturials i found told me to do so. Almost broke my ram trying to Press it Down into the ram slot at the wrong angle.

hey, if my laptop already has 8gb ram and i wanna upgrade it to 16gb, do i just need to buy one 8gb and add it or buy a 2x 8gb and replace the one thats already on it?
You don’t need to replace it
Also I’m pretty sure if you have 2x 8gb ram, it performs a little better then one 16gb ram.

Cheerful video. BASIC installation, no mention of what speed or what size RAM is needed or the specific MODEL laptop. Hmmm.
Not all your viewers have THAT model. Did you ever SAY what make and model (and year) it was?
They were showing you how to actually replace your RAM, not advise you on what ram is best use and for what. Besides it will be the exact same in all laptops. Aside from the positioning of the RAM, and amount of customisation, as stated in the video. For example my laptop has two upgradable ram slots! Just open up the back of your laptop and find it, it’s a good learning experience

Hello! Should i remove battery if i am planning to upgrade my RAM? My battery is inside of the laptop, so you can't easily remove it from outside and if i need to remove it, i will have to remove it from inside. Please, help! 🙏

@herox12five Hello! I upgrade my Ram by turning it off, not totally removing. So i just removed the connection of the battery to the motherboard. Then, I added one more ram, after that, I turned the battery on again by connecting to the motherboard. Nowadays, it works great!
Like this so everyone may see it, even though its an amazing tutorial he( or she were living in 2023 i guess) forgot to mention that some motherboard have a cap at how much ram they can use so be sure to check that out, you dont need to upgrade to 64 gb if your laptop can only be upgraded up to 32 gb and dont upgrade to 32gb or 16 if your laptop is capped beneath that

Is disconnecting battery connection necessary or we can just upgrade it without disconnecting battery??? Will it damage laptop anyhow while upgrading Ram with battery connector not disconnected?

Are you upgrading from 1 ram to 2 ram modules? It will happen when the two rams isn't from a same brand

Before my laptop killed itself I was going to upgrade the ram because it had 2 slots (one extra). I had to buy a new laptop and found out that there was only one slot which was annoying.
My HP 15 with Windows 10 is terrible. It takes 5 minutes to respond when you click on something, 8 minutes to open Chrome.

@@mariamgalal5992 I assume my laptop is very old and the ram I bought with same DDR3 is new and some complicated things like outdated drivers I supposed. that's why probably it doesn't work

@@Everything_Edits7 it's a victus 15fb, with Ryzen 5 and a GTX 1650, but if I were to recommend one it would definitely be the "ROG flow x13", it's a dream laptop

Nope. You need to buy a graphics card like nvdia or rtx.
If you want to improve FPS on games, you can install more RAM onto your laptop

Yes it does. For example, it could be a DDR4 stick, or a DDR5 stick. You can check what stick it is by looking at you laptops RAM

Ddr4 and ddr5 have different pins. So, if your motherboard supports ddr4 then it CANNOT have ddr5 vice versa
Are laptop ram generally universal in size? If so, are are there any laptops that have a non-standardized ram slots?
There are differences between ddr3 and ddr4 so-dimm ram so you will need to check your laptop by either checking the spec sheet or speaking with the manufacturer and giving them the model number. Most modern laptops are so-dimm however there may be high end gaming/workstation laptops that use non so-dimm ram similar to a PC tower. Again check your laptop as there are hundreds and hundreds of different models and configuration.

it might use ddr4 or ddr3 so you should check a ram manufacturer like crucial and find the dell inspiron to see the ram compatabilty
i have a few of silly noob questions:
i saw for sale $40 stick of 1TB RAM. is there any catches? shall i get as much as possible, or 32GB shall be enough?
will it affect the files on the laptop, temporary files and stuff, like tabs in my browser, etc.?
Don't buy, no such thing as a 1TB ram stick, especially not for $40. 32gb is more than enough for most laptops. If you're doing high end gaming or 3d rendering, then yes, more is better.
And no, ram does not store long term data, so it will not affect your files.
I have a Toshiba L650 with 4gb of ram 2+2, both removable. I got two 8gb ram ddr3 boards, but when i install them the computer tries to start windows but ends up in a blue screen with an error message and keeps restarting... Any ideas?
Was your older ram ddr3? Make sure your motherboard can support that.

It's generally not good practice to mix brands....while it may work fine, there's also no guarantee. The "latency" between chip brands can often vary!....so there's a chance your RAM chips will kinda be out of sync, which can actually slow your CPU down, or it won't perform as Good as it should with those RAM upgrades.....that's the way I understand it in simple terms. I've never tried to see if this is true, but that's what other people say.

Do all computer have the same RAM?
Well of course not... There are different generations of memory over the past 25+ years. Modern computers usually have DDR4 or DDR5 RAM. RAM is neither backwards nor forwards compatible.
