    Hi Jen. Thank you so much for all your posts and dedication to finally bring us hope to save the thyroid. I am one of those who have been hoping for this kind of treatment. I also am from Toronto Canada. I was so happy to hear there is now treatment available here. Have you heard any feedback on how successful this Canadian program is ? (it being quite new) - or would you recommend travelling to USA would be better?
    Just to add - my historic experience when I first found out I had benign nodules - the only option I got was "surgery". Then as things progressed - I kept being told that surgery was the "only" option. The doctors would not even be willing to discuss otherwise and even bullied me indicating that I was afraid of surgery - whereas all I wanted was to "not" loose my thyroid.
    So to now hear RFA is available in my home town - I can hardly believe it. My prayers have finally been answered after patiently waiting for almost twenty years.

    Hi Jen! Thank you for making this page to educate us! It is so great that you are bringing awareness to all these issues with the thyroid problems so many people experience and unnecessary surgery! Can he preform RFA on Malignant Nodules? Also can you give us any tips on how to request our doctors to do Molecular Testing? It was so hard to get them to even order an Ultrasound!

    • @ItsmeJenagain
      @ItsmeJenagain  Год назад

      I dont think Dr. Dhingra was doing RFAs on malignant nodules when we recorded this, but that could have changed. I am not sure how to get the Molecular testing ordered. That's another video I need to make.

    • @ItsmeJenagain
      @ItsmeJenagain  Год назад

      If your dr isn't willing to do an ultrasound, you may need to find another Dr. Ultrasounds are safe (no radiation exposure,) and cheap! It's not a hardship on you or the dr. Molecular tests are done using the biopsy samples, and the main hurdle with them is the cost. I don't have personal experience with them, so I need to talk to some experts in the field to get more insight.

    Hello again Jen,
    I find myself back here 3 months later re visiting this video.
    Ive finally just had my ultrasound and have 2 nodules lower left lobe rated Tirads 5. I should be having my biopsy soon. Funny thing is my Dr. Suggested a Dr in the plainville practice and it is Dr. Dhingra 😂
    I didn't think id be able to see him due to not being in network. But I'm pleased i can and have an appointment next month. Ive not yet had my biopsy I'm wondering if they could have him do that as well.
    I truly appreciate this video i feel a lot less stressed honestly.
    Thanks for all your hard work.😊

    I have had a Thyroid ultea sound recently showing nodules on both sides. My Dr. Says I should schedule a biopsy. I'm hoping that it will be benign. I would like to opt for RFA for sure . I live in West Virginia, where can I find the nearest RFA treatment?

    Does anyone know if RFA treatment can be used in a hyperthyroid patient?

    • @ItsmeJenagain
      @ItsmeJenagain  Год назад

      Yes, if you have a nodule that is creating excess hormone.

    I have a question though what happens if its a benign nodule that interferes with your production of your thyroid hormone. Would the RFA procedure be a good option or not?

    • @ItsmeJenagain
      @ItsmeJenagain  Год назад +3

      Usually cold nodules don't have that effect. It can actually be a bit of the opposite. When the nodule shrinks, some patients experience better thyroid function. I think of it somewhat like unclogging a pipe.

    • @sandraavendano242

      @ItsmeJenagain my nodule interferes with my hormone production, meaning I make more than what is needed. Would RFA be an option? Do you think.

    • @ItsmeJenagain
      @ItsmeJenagain  Год назад +1

      @sandraavendano242 yes! It's a great option for hot nodules and has a high success rate.

    Thank you for being the pioneer on spreading the FRA. I have a primary and secondary medical insurance.
    How do I find out what the procedure codes are for FRA? I would like to check if my insurance would cover it.

    • @ItsmeJenagain
      @ItsmeJenagain  Год назад

      There are no codes yet for RFA. Drs use a general unlisted Endocrine code, 60699.
