  • Happy Friday Everyone! Today we are going to be doing one of my favorite tiki recipes, Jason Alexander's Rum Barrel! There are many different rum barrel variations out there, but I think this one just might top them all. The Rum Barrel was originally invented by Don the Beachcomber in the 1940s. This drink is perfect for summer and is absolutely delicious. But beware, it is quite boozy and does go down easy. Always Drink Responsibly.

      its no joke and something I will mention about Jason Alexander next time, The man is legendary for the amount of booze in his cocktails. One cocktail has 2.5oz OFTD lol

    I put this one in my bar app back when you first published this video, but never got around to making it. There are a lot of ingredients and a couple of ingredients that actually need to be prepared ahead. We'll, this weekend was the day, and OMG! I made this for myself and my adult son, and oh my, was it a hit! Thank you so much for sharing this one.

      Anytime! The reason I published this one is because it is literally my favorite rum barrel recipe. I have even made the one from tropical standard and while it's amazing, I think this one just might edge it out. Like I said, it's basically all of Donns Palate and the tiki experience in a drink. Glad you enjoyed it Tom!

      Well visit and let me know how it is! And the falernum is right between Golden Truth and John D Taylor. Not as clove forward as JDT and not as ginger heavy has Bitter Truth but right in the middle. Good too hear from you as always Dave

      Tiki can be quite the investment, but before you know it you'll have 15 bottles of rum and it will be no problem bringing out 3 or 4 for a single cocktail.

    Nice job! What kind of ice did you use to make the cocktail? Do you generally use the same ice for all of your drinks?

    • @bacondrinks1011
      @bacondrinks1011  Год назад +1

      I use different ice for different drinks. Ice choice is actually very important. But for summer, I make alot of tiki cocktails like this. Almost all tiki cocktails are made with crushed or pebble ice. I get bags of pebble/nugget ice from sonic.

    4:51 The term is "Bajan" for referring to things from Barbados. e.g Bajan people and Bajan rum

      I mean I suppose but the pineapple juice and dons spice no.2 make a huge difference. Basically three extra ingredients with no 151 or overproof.
