Yea final fantasy games have always been ahead of their time graphically. Even on ps1 if you compare like ff8 and 9 to other ps1 games or ff10 with most ps2 games. Final fantasy always looks half a generation ahead at minimum.
Ultima was a weak villian - exactly who was he or she? how many eikons did he consumed and why we didn't get to see more of Odin's victory throughout the game
I watched it in Japanese language with English subtitle in other channel. I was surprised it have different interpretation. The only caveat is, I might be wrong For Ultima, It has a nemesis addressed as "Logos" hidden in Ultima's chosen vessel, Clive. Logos outpowered Ultima. The Japanese script avoid cliché words, which further helps me comprehend Logos as the definition of "it is what it is, let human do what they want bruhh" to Ultima. Odin's dominant is a human, another chosen vessel by Ultima but beaten by Clive because Ultima is just an "entity"? Or "being"? Same goes with Logos, except that Ultima is too greedy It only copies "forms" for the ~neEEeeWw wo0Orld~. Clive, on the other hand, has himself as a complete vessel, an Eikon and Logos with him. At the end, Ultima may be a force at same time just a "nothing", Logos on the other hand, has human that interconnected with another human that creates a really massive vessel on accidental: "i told you, let them live, you forced me into this, this is the Law, if a human has strong willpower, it is the Law's command for me to be in it if they were endangered. Bla bla bla I know world is going to die whatsoever but that's not our duty, that's the Law's call. Now shut up". Also it cracks me up the way Ultima gaslight on its way to cease to exist it's form@@hussainukhpersia6376
@@hussainukhpersia6376Ultima isn’t that weak when you think about it. The whole game makes the point that no man should be a slave, that everyone deserves the right to live as they wish. Ultima, the creator of humanity who sees them as little more than tools is an affront to Clive and Cid’s dream, an enemy that takes the notion of forced servitude to its natural extreme: a god who sees his creations as playthings and tools, all the while not even acknowledging their suffering, even among those who’d revere him. Sure on a surface level, he’s just another arrogant, selfish god in a jrpg, but it’s the concept the game has built up since the start and why that clashes with Ultima is why his opposition to Clive’s vision is necessary.
@@user-wu4ed3zl4b that's intentional. According to Naoki Yoshida (FF16 Producer), the reason the protagonist is Ifrit, is because he was tired of seeing Ifrit get his ass whooped in several games of the franchise lol But Bahamut and Odin transcend the other Eikons in what they control. All other Eikons are elemental based: Fire, Ice, Earth, Lightning... Bahamut and Odin control Light and Darkness.
I'd just like to point out, Bahamut seems to be the only entity that was capable of straight up stopping Odin's slice with his claws. Odin's sword is capable of cutting anything, as demonstrated. Near Endgame spoilers below: He literally cut Clive out of Ifrit during their fight (Or "killed" Ifrit and severed Clive's connection to it temporarily, depending on interpretation), but here Bahamut straight caught the sword with no ill effects whatsoever.
Spoilers... Counterpoint, Barnabas was already deep in bed with Ultima, so killing Bahamut or the Sanbreque here would ruin the plan of having Clive absorb the other Eikons. It's likely Odin is holding back majorly here, enough to force a stalemate and ensure Bahamut gets his future encounter with Ifrit.
I believe Bahamut caught the blade before Odin could cast his Zentensuken. You see moments later, he actually dodges the next attack and doesn't try to catch it. Either way, impress degree of skill to fly around as a dragon and catch a blade before it swings.
Id rather say its more akin to Naruto than AOT. Giant beings of pure magic/Chakra that are passed down to another host so their nation can use them as weapons. With the main bad villain wanting to combine all of them into one being to achieve a goal that requires unrivaled power. And the main villain has a vendetta against humanity, believing catastrophe and destruction are byproducts of human free will.
In the event that something happens while he's on the battlefield, and he ends up dropping out of his eikon form (whether by defeat or any other reason), he's a dragoon and spears are their signature weapons. He didn't end up needing it, but any capable strategist is smart enough to have a backup plan.
When I first saw this it was like, "sure another game with ok big flashy fight, whatever". Its like so out od context that was meaningless for me. But then, hours into the game getting to know the world of the game the conflicts, and this characters, Dion and Barnabas, this hits totally different.
the eikons are essentially nukes. if they send theirs, you need to send yours or you'll be destroyed. but fight too long, and it may end in mutually assured destruction of all.
That's actually made very obvious the first time you see Eikons fight (Titan & Shiva) as you wander the battlefield and see bodies impaled on shards of ice. The minute an Eikon takes the field, all bets are off.
Odin would have won, sure it was said Bahamut would scorch the Earth, but that was after a massive boost in power from drinking aether, multiple times, and we have seen what drinking aether does to dominants with Titian Lost
The point was to rouse the army morale on both sides. A legitimate fight is too draining and too costly. Both Dion and Barnabus are too strategic for that.
BAHAMUT is the strongest eidolon He is still the evil dragon of Death The power of darkness Darkness always win anyways😌 It takes several gods to take down this creature Neither afraid of demonic or angelic being 😊 In short he is 1 man army 🎉more like a titan In ff4 when that myryad girl green hair girl use him His attack power was -inf😂 Oliberate everything
If FF16 fails in sales.... it's not because the effect off FF7 Rebirth release... it's because FF16 loses its "SquarevFF" tones.. If they wanna make a GOT rpg game, fine... use another name... the sales result will be much better..
You realize the majority of FF's history is in High Fantasy political dramas right? Like FFII being the emperor taking over the world, FFIV with the King of Baron attacking other nations, etc...
FF16 mostly lost because it was PS5 exclusive, whereas the PS5 exclusive version of FF7R was also on Steam. They very much didn't learn their lesson when releasing FF7 Rebirth
This still blows me away, genuinely one of the best looking cutscenes of this current age in gaming. The level of detail is mental

Will you engage him personally, your highness?' "Of course!" This is what it feels like stepping in for my employees lol
“It’s Bahamut: the prince is with us,” that is also what it feels like when your coworkers seeing you step in.
The soldiers be like cheering for bahamut while still getting blasted from the collateral damage lol
"Will you engage with him per'th'onally, your highne'th'"

mixed opinions after finishing this game tbh but this is imo one of the coolest cutscene’s i’ve ever seen from a video game IMO

Never thought a day that I'll choose an English dub for a ff game. English dub is the most suitable one for ff16
The voice actors fuckin' sent it with this game, especially Clive! No way he was being paid extra to do so, he just put his all in for the fans.
Just like FFXII, shakesperean English.
While all the Eikons/Dominants were powerful, they really made Dion and Barnabas stand above the rest.
The two most powerful eikons
Cool detail is that they are polar opposites.
Bahamut is the Warden Of Light and Odin is the Warden Of Darkness, according to in-game texts.
Ifrit is strongest tho

Not far in the game, but the story is truly something between AOT and GoT. Especially these scene!

Finale fantasy always have the badass fight scenes
This game has one of the best boss fights. Period.
Yes, but sadly, thats already it.

Why does he need the spear before he turns into Bahamut?
I am thinking about that ...hard
Maybe it helps him focus

Cuz he’s a bad motherfucker
He's a classic dragoon. The descending from heights power comes from his spear (?)

Absolutely factual
Especially once you understand Dion's personal troubles and Bahamut's motivation and loyalty.
Somebody knows the name of the soundtrack 0:55 ?
Its a remixed version of Bahamuts theme Ascension to fit in with Odins theme.
It's all 1 theme from the start it's called battle of belenus tor
How much friendly fire is happening you think?
It's giant monstrous beings of ultimate power, kinda hard to avoid sadly.
Yes
"Hurray Bahamuts here" Random Soldier before 'friendly' fire consumes him
