❗I pushed myself way outside my comfort zone, I know it's still a bit to much and i rambled at the first pause but i hope to make it even better next video..
Note* I am a comedy reaction channel by trade and only understand music in it's most basic sense, If your looking for someone who will have a deep understanding of the lyrics, terminology and overall sense of the track you will be disappointed. I'll do my best to learn from all of you in the comments but I didn't grow up listening to any music so this is all new territory for me. I love to hear about the history of your favorite artists as well as any songs or video's you think I should watch to increase my understanding.

You are doing a fantastic job. This is a song highlighting Robin's voice.
      I Can't See Nobody.
      Maurice,
      Man In The Middle.
      Barry,
      Shine Shine.

@Jeff2Squared - Since you said you don't know the musical terms - Falsetto is someone singing in a voice that is higher than their NATURAL voice. FALSEtto. It's in the word itself. Barry mainly sang the falsetto. On the other hand Robin's NATURAL voice was actually higher than Barry's without the use of falsetto (which he could also do but did not often use. That was Barry's forte). Barry had a 4 octave natural range and Robin had a 5 octave natural range. The main word in that statement is "natural". Robin also had a rare natural trait, "vibrato" which is the quavering sound in his voice which is a very rapid and accurate variation in pitch. Barry's is likely more "commercial" for the public while Robin's is unusual and unique. Just two different voices but they share the same familial harmonic tone that is rare except in siblings. That brings in Maurice who also had a terrific voice and could find the harmony easily and naturally. He was the musician of the group.

No…all 3 brothers wrote this song, not just Maurice. It was Barry & Robin doing the lead in this song. And it shows the staying power of the brothers, because it was released in 1997 (close to the end of their careers). They started in 1958 and now this song is some 39 years later! They also released another album in 2001 (which would be their last).
I’m just thankful you’re trying something new and getting more info about the brothers. It’s keeping their music alive for future generations!❤
Also those are some home videos of them when they were younger!

"No…all 3 brothers wrote this song"
Really (I guess it does say we), I thought it said Maurice originally wrote the opening part but i was on the wrong site.
Either way after my break and discussion with my new friend, I'm going to post at least 3 more today maybe more. I also might bring him on as a guest star in the future.
I had the hold the side of my chair so i didn't press the pause button.

I think you're doing great and I'm enjoying your reactions. Above anything else, I appreciate authenticity in a reactor and you have that in spades. I'd say worry less about pleasing everyone (cause you never will) and focus more on your unique way of doing things. Also, maybe worry less about the technical (tone deaf??) aspects of the music and pay attention to how the music makes you feel, where it takes you, the stories/memories/images it invokes, the "sense" of it. Bee Gees were masters of emotion and weaved that into their music - let that speak to you (just a thought). I'll be following to see where you takes things. I always love a Bee Gee reaction especially from someone who is really focussed on appreciating their music.

I love, love, love this song. Well, pretty much all of their music. But, this song is also sad because Barry is the only one left of 4 brothers. So, in that way, he is "alone". He does however have an older sister. Also, a wife of over 50 years, children, nieces and nephews, and I'm guessing by now, he has grandchildren. (This song was released in 1997) . Their last song was released in 2001, two years before Mo died. It is titled "This is where I came in". Another great one, and kinda autobiographical. If you haven't done it, please react to the official video.

An easy way to distinguish between their voices you have to listen to and, above all, SEE songs in which everyone sings ALONE. In Nights of broadway you can hear/see Barry and Robin singing solo parts, Words (1979) is sung by Barry, I started a koke by Robin and Man in the middle by Maurice. Mostly Barry and Robin sing lead (parts), Maurice very rarely, he rather completes the Harmonies.

    • @Jeff2Squared
      @Jeff2Squared  4 месяца назад

Ya, that makes sense let's see if i can actually accomplish this... maybe when i get through their entire 1000+ song catalogue?
I think your right I have to SEE, which if you've seen my other stuff I really focus on the See aspect (maybe a bit to much)

Depends on the person typically people learn in different ways, some are visual like me, some learn from auditory ques. For instance I have near a near photographic memory for written words and certain types of visuals but I also have face blindness. I could be talking to you and you could tell me your name 3 times and by the end of a 10 minute conversation i would have no idea who you are at least from a name standpoint if we passed on the street 30 minutes later. (I have a ton of friends who I know by their face but I actually have no idea what there name is luckily they havent noticed and many of these friendships are years old).
Many people use audio to connect with a visual item and link them together, I cant easily link audio and visual items together. Here is an example I had a 4.0 all through college but i cant remember a single lecture, i can however remember entire chapters from the text books and in most cases what pages key information is located.
Many people will say well then just listen to lyric videos but that also doesn't work. Becuase I can't link the audio to a visual representation of something it basicaly stays in short term memory only.

Lol Do I act like a typical reactor?
Also, I didn't take it as a hash criticism, you were correct, typically many people are able to in fact use all there senses in conjunction with each other.
I was taught German through Pimsleur.... Uh ya that uh didnt work out very well...

Don't be so hard on yourself for not always picking out the bassline or the particular instruments played like horns or strings. Enjoy at your your own level. I enjoyed your comments. I like your new goal of stopping only 3 times. If you pause too often, you are not feeling the full effect of the music. I know the more you listen, the better you will get at listening and hearing and enjoying. ❤ Please react to some songs where Robin sings the lead or Barry & Robin share. I'm suggesting "Rings Around the Moon" ( not the funeral video though), "And the Sun Will Shine" ( Melbourne 1974 video), and "Embrace", for example!❤

You don't have to be a scholar to enjoy music even the Bee Gee's had no music lessons or teaching they were always being told what they were doing was musically incorrect. But in the end they ended up the Songwriter's Hall of Fame ; the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and none of them could write a single note of music or read it! Just enjoy. If it sounds like you when you have dropped a brick on your toes, its falsetto. If it sounds like you do with gut ache its a Minor tone. Direct opposites. Between them the three Bee Gee's sing all these notes.
