Saturday and Sunday concerts both followed by parties thrown by a dedicated group of PH fans, the Palers. Many are musicians themselves and played a variety of tunes from the PH songbook. The group was kind enough to show up and sit in with them for a few songs. Everyone had a memorable experience.

I'm the same age as him and it was a #1 song when I was 22. Oh, I love him and his band which is Procol Harum. Sadly, he died in February of this year from cancer. RIP Gary Brooker.

The 1967 version of this by the band Procol Harum is the only single to sell 10 million copies, singer Gary Brooker. It was the song for my first wedding in1973

Protocol harum was the band. The song was first recorded in 1967, which is when I first heard it. Here Gary brooker is about 70 and sounds as good as in the 60s.

Singer's name is Gary Brooker. Procol Harum was one of the first rock groups to incorporate symphonic music. Brilliant. And Brooker can still sing.

In 1985 on the 300th anniversary of the birth of J.S. Bach, Procol Harum admitted that the melody was lifted from the master. That's why it sounds so good.

This song came from the poem the Ancient Mariner. It was about a ghost ship where every one had died except for the one who shot the albatross. Every sailor knows the albatross brings sailors good luck but when the sailor killed the albatross everyone started dying except him.

Gary Rooker was the lead singer of Procol (like local) Harum (like HAIR-em). He passed away in February. There’s a RUclips video of him performing in 1967 at 21 or 22. He had an amazing voice then too. I was 9 years old. Your reactions are priceless. I just subscribed.
